  1. I think you have that totally backwards. The lower number is how the oil acts when cold (in the case of a 10-60 weight oil the oil acts as if it is a 10 weight oil (thin) when cold. The higher number "60" reacts the same as a 60 weight oil (thick) when hot. All engine oils get thinner when hot, so the oil will not be physically thicker when hot. When cold you need a light oil to move from the sump to all the parts that need the oil to lubricate. In a freezing temperature climate ie Canberra in Winter 5w engine oils assist in starting the car and limiting engine wear. Most of the engine wear on a normal car occurs at startup where there is limited lubrication. Better re-read that chart.
  2. Spotted a purple GTR in Belco with a fully "sic" looking dude driving it.
  3. Are they still going Keith? The website is down and they have no physical shop.
  4. Interested in an update when the 265/18" for the GTR come in stock.
  5. Well why not do some basic research. http://www.wsid.com.au/subpage.asp?Page=Street-Info BTW SAU NSW run days down to the drags on a semi regular basis.
  6. I'm going out tonight, anyone else coming out.
  7. This is a great looking car, the photo's don't do it justice. Very clean interior. I'd buy it if I didn't already have a GTR.
  8. No interest in personally drifting my car, but I'd love to see some local skylines in action.
  9. Make it later in the next two months and yes, very keen. I'm not taking it too seriously though.
  10. Welcome, Nice interior. Bet you can't wait to remove the P plate, cop magnet.
  11. What are you saying? I'm confused.
  12. I saw RH9 and JUN and I sware they both looked Dark Green to me.
  13. Great pics Bluprint. Never seen a Zonda in Australia before.
  14. Welcome. From the information previously stated here: atmo bov should not pass, ebc should not pass (remove the inside controller and likely to get through) Timers should pass, might depand on how they are set up. But I keep mine fairly stock, so haven't needed to do much with complying mods.
  15. Umm.. your car is up and running? ok, no .. well the Imported R35 GTR has had some mods No idea.
  16. Awe... come on Shell there was at least 5 cars left :-P Thanks for the photo's guys.
  17. Well there is a guy in this forum who works for one of the best hifi places in Canberra. I'll let him PM Jayce. As a oposing opinion, and from my own limited experiance, and then discussing with multiple "experts" incuding the BOSE people. BOSE is not the best. Also from a mate that sold the stuff side by side to the other real names in hifi, he was clear BOSE did not have the sound quality of the other big names. They do great custom installs with funky things but not the basics very well. But agreed it will not be cheap. Cheers, That's the guy below :-)
  18. It's a great day, I just wish I could attend. That's not a cop out, if I could I'd be there.
  19. No, but I have heard stories on this board that they have demanded the vehicle be removed then defected it. If they ask never take the vehicle off the trailer due to the obvious legalities of having a non roadworthy car on a road.
  20. So how did the day go?
  21. Sorry to hear that, I have no ideas, but considering I'm running 595's on the GTR I can't quite understand they would have a poor load rating?
  22. Yes Shell Otptimax was renowned for causing damage to certain bike engines. Unfortunately I could find no definite proof of this but it was very well known. Possibly why they renamed it. I agree about the Caltex, my car hates it for fuel economy.
  23. Now you have described in more detail the problem, just try the fuses under the drivers side dash. Similar thing happened to me and it turned out to be the fuse. As I remember it, it was a 15 amp fuse.
  24. Both are very hard to find in Canberra atm, but I currently running tests on all 98 and found Ultimate gives the best fuel consumption, next Shell and last by far is Caltex. Not many Mobil's in Canberra
