Anyone In Town That Knows The Attesa System?
a20089 replied to Shuyin's topic in Australian Capital Territory
John at trojan could not fix my problem after multiple attempts, said himself that he's really too busy to do big fault diagnosis. Glen is a electrical engineer so I'd try there first. -

$20K For New/rebuilt Engine. Options?
a20089 replied to a20089's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks for the reply Joe Please identify the better ECU please and why it is better, most in Aust know the Haltech and can use it well. Vipec is good but not as supported. I'm not up-to-date on the latest advancements. Are you basing the rest of your comments on a 300kw car? Air box and injectors are limiting at above 300kw I understand. If anything i'd expect the intercooler to be the first thing to be cut. He'd prefer to get something that is a bit over kill then be on the limit, particularly things like injectors. -
Sent it round work today. Loved it

yep I've used a tyre power and capital steering. As I said I've never heard of the issue no one has responded, so likely there is no issue with the A-LSD

$20K For New/rebuilt Engine. Options?
a20089 replied to a20089's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks for all the suggestions. ( Coming away from this and talking to him, I think there is two ways forward for his needs 1. Buy one of the cars already built for $20K, sell his car with damaged engine to somoene who wants to customise a rebuild 2. Get the bolt ons and talk to a builder about what is possible with the rest of the build. 2860-5/7 turbo's $2500 Haltech inc boost controller $2000 Jun Fuel pump $400 IDC1000 Injectors $1000 Fuel rail to suit injectors $350 Fuel regulator + guage $100 Apexi air intake $700 DFI radiator $700 Intercooler $1000 Metal intercooler piping kit $400 Inovated air/fuel guage $200 Oil cooler + relocator with thermostat $1500 Engine in/out $2000 Total $12850 + $7K rebuild Unsure on what exhust he has, so dumps etc would likely be needed. -
May be interested in the rear diffuser and front lip if seperating. Would love some real photo's on the thread.

2006 Mazda 6 Mps - Performance + Luxury! Turbo Awd!
a20089 replied to Stunn-R's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Lovely car in general. Would you consider cash the other way, because an R33 GTR in good condition would be worth a bit more. -
Need a price as per the rules. Also if for instance you are in QLD thats mightly impressive that you will help fit them to somone in say Tasmania.

Also consider the legal issues of having so much fuel stored at your home if anything happens. http://www.viofuel.com.au/index.cfm?printpage=1&pageName=safety_and_handling -
Yes big thanks, see main thread.

Where are the trophy winners listed?

I was told you were in the second set of garages. As Sin stated I was in one of the hundred silver R33 GTR's. Black and white number plates but ACT. The video I shot was pretty lame this time, no real action, just slowly loosing sight of a blue R35 GTR.

$20K For New/rebuilt Engine. Options?
a20089 replied to a20089's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks for some of the suggestions, my mate is certainly looking for peace of mind in a solid engine. I have doubts $20k will get a good stroker engine with all the rest needed inc labour The more sensible suggestions I'm getting from this thread are: 1. Insert another second hand engine $3k, $2k install = Total $5K, repeat when it blows and hope there are no issues with the engine when purchased. 2. Check if some of the bigger workshops have engines ready to go or near ready from sales that have fallen through. 3. Ask a known builder to suggest a build, like Racepace. 4. Look at standard built engines from bulders like Lewis, RIPS 5. Talk in detail to the actual builder and tuner, how many RB's have been built. Know exactly what is going to be done. -
Missed me the only other ACT car to be on the track, whats your excuse Mine was I spent the majority of the time trying to fix my car. Installing new rear brake pads and later a broken water pump, my day was over

$20K For New/rebuilt Engine. Options?
a20089 replied to a20089's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks for the replies. I'll let him decide where exactly he goes. More after suggestions for the build in the way of parts and the work needed. The built engine of "lewis" for 13K was something that was good to read. I'm sure people have spent around this amount for a rebuilt/new engine, how did it go, what would you do differently? -
$20K For New/rebuilt Engine. Options?
a20089 replied to a20089's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I would think he would want a australian (prob Can/Syd/Melb) builder with a strong rep for everyday engines. Prefer if the one place could do everything, drop car off, pick car up when done & tuned. Or just give a listing of the parts and work cost that needs doing and he can source a builder himself. -
Mate has a R32 GTR who's been stuffed around by doggy workshops to the point he has no GTR to drive. He's looking at spending up to $20k on an engine or a rebuild, in all labour etc. Obviously looking for supreme reliability so no second hand parts unless they are obviously just as good as new. Would consider a full engine but ones like CRD's is well over the budget or need. He only has a standard engine, so will need computer, fuel system, turbo's etc. Suggestions?

Nice work James. One of those will probably be my next upgrade. Good vid from May 2011 back on page 2. I could keep with you but could not close the gap to you or that blue R34.

Some of us need to leave a bit earlier, 4.30 up to prep the car and leave by 6am is a bitch.

2*17's and 4*18's???? Maybe only 2*18's are for sale?
-
Saying that really anything could be considered fair wear and tear. Even a block pushed beyond it's design limit.

1st track day, 1st session turbo's blow. $8K later I had a car with a bit more power. Apart from that, probably nothing unusual for a car pushed hard that's 15-20yo
