  1. Don't go to Trojan at the moment, they are flat out working on my car I think ESP have decent experiance with nistune. They should be able to do most of the other work.
  2. I don't like 2 door commo's, but reading this add makes me want to buy it. I'll pass it on to a friend
  3. Good to see how it went, had not known anyone before who have said they have had major work done there. Shame the track day is out for you.
  4. Sheez when I finally get a rebuld, I'd hope for better then 6 1/2 months. Congrats on getting it back. Who did it and what did you have done?
  5. Keep seeing this car now. Today in Kambah
  6. Great to know it was found. Saw it yesterday in civic.
  7. ACT is generally more mod friendly. You just need to pass that first inspection coming into the ACT. Never had an issue with either ACT or NSW, but I've also never seen an EPA stop either. Should not have many issues with a volvo wagon
  8. These are very good brakes. Need to confirm the mounting kit is for the skyline and if it is what skyline and model.
  9. I agree with others that four to five sessions lasting only 50 seconds each for an entire day "racing" just does not give a good return on investment of either time or money. Hillclimb 4-5 minutes on track for say 9 hours investment inc travel time, v six 10 min sessions for 11 hours investment inc travel time Not to say it's a bad thing to do, quite fun. But so's go karting and that's a lot cheaper. As for helping with track prep for wakefield, they are really different things. Come to a SAUNSW trackday, they are your best way and very newb friendly (about 30-40% newbs). Comparing Hillclimb to track day. Braking is totally different, hill climb you want soft brake pads that brake from cold, track day you want long lasting brakes that work when hot, same goes for tyres etc. My first hillclimb I nearly ended up in the trees as the brake pads were track ones, fine by the end of the lap. Basically a hillclimb take a normal car, a track day you really need some harder wearing parts.
  10. Track car!!! If only it was manual.
  11. Last session, last SAU day, I knocked 0.5 sec off my time by taking it easy and chasing dinessi. So 80% can equal just as fast with no risk of coming off the track. OK maybe learning to drive would help as well.
  12. Passenger rides (if any allowed, they were thinking of one). Sure why not, I said I'd give you one. Don't worry about the extra weight, the car is full weight, and weight slows you down and gives stability right? So it should help in all those corners. All those racers wasting time and effort. umm... thats physics right?
  13. Gave my work 3 months notice I'd be away on this date.
  14. Would love to attend one of these days. When the trailer becomes available trips down to Sydney will be more common.
  15. Very nice power curve. Certainly better to play it safe until you can afford turbo's and associated items, then see 300kw.
  16. NM, found the thread.
  17. I wasn't there , had issues. Where's your build thread!
  18. Man that Winfield car not only looked good, it stuck like shit. Not a hint of understeer. I can't wait to test out the latest lot of mods at the SAU nationals. Try and catch you this time.
  19. Thanks for the pics.
  20. Could not see a reason the oil cooler is not legal. No EPA issues. Just needs to be secure and not leaking.
  21. Lots of opposing views, never helpful. I have only ever had the standard and the JB carbonic 6 puk to compare, so I can only give an opinion based on the differences. Standard organic burnt out within 1 month of ownership, did about two 5000rpm launches. Spoke to Jim about what I had and what my intentions were. He had a new 6puk 1800kg clamp in the shop which was sent down as soon as I could get him off the phone. JB clutch has lasted 6 years so far, several 8000rpm launches, many 5000rpm launches and many SAU track days as well as general driving. I could feel the damage the 8000rpm launches were doing so stopped doing them. Car has made between 240 to 316kw during this time. The uptake of the clutch is very short but slipable with experience, it is also very light to use. The local Skyline mechanics were very impressed with the feel of the clutch. The whole JB clutch cost me $1200 at the time, no need to send parts back. I have no idea if the Nismo is better, it should be at double the price. I also understand Jim is very affordable at repairing his clutches as well, so something else to consider.
  22. They can be Ruxis. I use to run motorcycle rides but the caveat was, I'm going in this direction and stopping at these locations, you are welcome to follow me as individuals. On topic, for those who have family/responsibilities and live 6+hours there and back away, nearly everything organised is unfortunatly unavailable. Jim's dinners are awesome but 8 hours traveling to go to work the next day doesn't keep the mrs happy. However keep running 3 track days at wakefield a year and I'm happy. Combined with other clubs is fine. The yearly drag event in sydney sounds like great stuff.
  23. I am highly doubtful I can attend, but Shell has the tent and the banner for those who wish to take them.
