  1. Na, I think you will find that was SUKA, he's got a 97 with the xeons and a slightly darker paint colour. My car is in the garage getting another oil change.
  2. Well this is one of the more eventfull laps at wakefield. It's 115 mb. See if the link works, I'm not good with uploading video. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=T2R06ZA2
  3. A very long cruise :-) Most people won't go for the cruise. IF we get a better turn out then wheels it will be a great accomplishment.
  4. They still break as well as ordinary pads when cold? Just lots better when warm? It normally takes 500km to get the pads and the rotors to bond most effectively. Hopefully it will improve over time?
  5. I will probably be going for the EBC red's for everyday use and track (designd for the track as they need to heat up to be most effective). Are you looking at changing the rotors as well? You normally let the pads bed in to the rotors and swapping and changing them would seem to limit their effectiveness. I'm still considering tyres, Ladybytes swears by here Federal 595 RS's. The wakefield licence allows you to run full slicks if you want.
  6. I wish you were there and we could exchange sets for a session to see the difference. New WRX STI's and an evo were pulling 1.12s by the end of the day with semi slicks. Next wheels/tyres/suspension/RDA rotors and new pads coming soon.
  7. Well managed many laps of 1.13 odd with the stock car and Federal 595 SS's. Just wait till I get some instruction from Dereck. I thought the 595 SS's were a bit hard when cold and they just didn't stand up to the demands of the track under a GTR. I ended up running half on the sidewall and sliding all over the track, ripped a small chunk off the tread as well. I'll have to speak to Frink or someone about a better choice, possibly the RS's.
  8. Just attended the Ferrari track day with timing and it was a well run event. I did invite anyone but no one showed any interest. Cost was 150 members or 175 non members. To break even they said they needed about 40 entrants. I had no problems with cars slowing me up and everyone was very considerate of each other. This was run with Wakefield licences so possibly only with Wakefield insurance. Just getting 20 people from the skyline group would be very hard. We were lucky to get 10 at the dyno day prepaid (thanks to Frink). We ended up with 18 people in the end, but the majority were not skylines.
  9. I told them I would get back to them Monday. So should be OK. Just remember bank transfers can take time to appear, so I may not have any proof if you've paid, if you leave it too late.
  10. I can probably get away with a couple paying closer to the day. I know you are going to come if you say so.
  11. I know a few people in the ACT Supra club and they would be keen to do a track day. I've been thinking of a Ford V Skyline day XR6 v GTS-T F6 v GTR
  12. Great to hear your back sl33py. To soon (money) for a track day with dereck for myself but I'm hoping to get on one in November. Motorbikes tend to say 1.20 is respectable, best I've done is 1.16 on the bike. Never been timed in the car, but will be this Saturday. Taping headlights is so the glass does not shatter and cover the track in the case of a mishap. Never seen it needed and since most Skylines are plastic, mostly useless.
  13. Yes I've been out there and the GTR just clears the road at places. It is not that bad really but a very lowered car will have problems. Just slow down and drive it like a 4WD not an AWD :-) Again sorry for the late notice.
  14. OK It was clear we had interest but we didn't have enough to play just by ourselves. But as promised I would make this happen so I've found a group we can tag along with and even better, we can shoot them!! instead of each other. $55 for 400 rounds, lunch and all gear hire. - Extra 100 rounds $12 ea. FREE BBQ AT END OF DAY www.predator.com.au Yes this is the one half way to Coma, but the deal is very good. It is a work group, but not my direct workmates. Shoot public servants!! The day will be on so we don't need any set numbers. But I do need payment ASAP (this week in preference). Sorry the late notice, I only recently found the deal and can not replicate it. Payment to me as per the dyno day Bank Details Name BSB Account John Sykes 062913 10078332 I may be able to offer a lift to two participants if they live southside. Timings for the day have not been listed, but expect 9am till you run out of bullets or it gets too cold. Probably 3-4 pm.
  15. Support costs per month, well assuming you are over 25 and a great history I'd hazard a guess at 120/month in insurance, double or tripple that if not, rego very depentant but 50/month ACT, petrol, how far do you drive? how do you drive? a tank can be 80 so how many tanks do you expect? Loans you can go onto most bank sites and caculate for yourself. Please tell me you have money saved up first? I'd get the 34 with the N1 turbo's, more reliable. But personal prefference. I'd say always get one locally, get it fully checked out in Australia, I've just heard too many things go wrong with imports. Saying that if you can save $10K on an import, that is a lot of repairs you can afford.
  16. Great results
  17. seems to be fast for some and slow for others. I started a thread to see the response http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=832303
  18. The problem may be Internode side as I'm with them as well and I get the same very slow response.
  19. If they needed to do the car twice, how good are they? more info needed maybe.
  20. Nice looking car, congrats.
  21. Do they ever open up the whole track? Now I'd be in on that!
  22. Don't agree with this statement. All the stuff I've seen from China has been lower quality than the Japanese made stuff. 1/2 the price for sure. And China may make thousands of motorbikes but not that many make it into Australia. Aftermarket gear they close the gap somewhat, but I won't in general buy china made electronics or important components.
  23. Well mine lasted 2 years, but that was still a very short life span.
