  1. I'm in for the 27th Jan.
  2. For me they were a LOT cheaper. Ryno $860 $500 excess Shannons $1400 $500 excess Just cars $2260 $1600 excess
  3. I have the R33 engine manual but I'd love a manual in english for the R33 GTR, preferably for the whole car. I've been told they were never translated, true?
  4. I'll be there this friday the 29th
  5. Just called Just cars insurance for a comparison from Shannon’s insurance on my GTR. What a comparison. Just cars Script kiddy, couldn't handle talking Is the GTR manual or Auto? Insured for what I paid for it (bargain that it was) $1600 excess $2260 premium Shannon’s Someone who could talk to me Knew the car from the start Insured for more than I paid for it (agreed value but at higher market value) $500 excess $14?? premium From the conversation or little of it I had with Just cars I wouldn't trust them to pay out. It was like speaking to a recording, it was worse than the Indian call centers. You guys that like Just cars must have terrible records. I wouldn't go near them. Even NRMA was cheaper!
  6. I find this comment ridiculous. Comparisons are human nature. The fact they are both family/sporty type cars, running 6cyl and turbo makes them very comparable. When people shop for a car they may look at both of these cars. Both cars compete on the roads equally. Whether they are equal or not is the point of comparison.
  7. Mostly stock R33 GTR on BP Ultimate just better than 10L/100km
  8. Yes Typhoon handles better due to better stock set up. It's not designed as a basic family car. Though you defeat your (though logical) argument about weight and handling. Why does a heavy GTR out handle a much lighter GTT? For everyone I'd like to put this to rest. Ford guys want some competition at Wakefield race track near Canberra. The track is small and technical and should suit the lighter skyline considerably. Register your interest in their forums http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.ph...d=1#post1155809
  9. Finally someone that can read basic specs! Though I've seen quite a number of varying weights for the Ford around the place. I wouldn't totally agree that GT-T benefits from light mods more than the Typhoon (wasn't it just a modified XR6T they tested against?). Yes weight is a real killer but having sampled some of the better typhoon mods they certainly are impressive. Skyline is still a family car. If you think the XR6T can't handle come join the track day at Wakefield that fordclub is organising and find out.
  10. WRX nice little box, handles like shit. WRX Sti/EVO great little boxes, handle supurb GT-R good style, handles very differently but well when known how.
  11. Both impressive, from my impressions apart from the styling look at what you use the car for. If it's track work and you want to work the suspension the R32 is lighter but suspension work is needed to get the best out of the car particularly due to it's age. For non track work the R33, it also puts the power down better on standard suspension.
  12. Yes this would be consistant with what I experianced, the exaust/filter would help hold off the XR6T for a while. The wipping will happen from the lightly modified XR6T, which many people are doing and can't been externally seen. 240kw to 300+kw for around $2000 and highly reliable. Then add an exhaust and intercooler and they are deadly (in a straight line).
  13. Interesting thread and a lot of biased opinions as you would expect. Driven a few stock XR6-T BA and BF Driven a lightly modded f6 Typhoon (been informed 315kw fly wheel, felt like a lot more to me) Driven a few stock GTS-T and GTT's Own a very lightly modded R33 GTR (been informed 240rwkw, yet to test) From the cars I've driven above For comfort & features etc the Falcon’s wins hand down For looks the skyline wins hands down For straight line speed: 4th Skyline Turbo 3rd XR6T 2nd GTR 1st F6 Typhoon GTR has a great start and it would be very close but the pure power and torque on the F6 catches up very fast. The longer the distance the better the F6's chances. Handling 4th XR6T 3rd Skyline Turbo 2nd F6 Typhoon (though only the ability to get the power down) 1st GTR by miles $2000 for 300kw at the fly wheel in the XR6-T is a great mod and blows most skylines away. The XR6T is newer and it has cubes, but limited finess. If I could I'd mount the Falcon's engine in my GTR, I've got the ability to utilise that torque and take a corner. I hope to be able to pitch my GTR against my mates F6 in the track. At that time I’ll probably wish I paid as much as he did for his tyres. As has been said, unless you are pumping 250+ fly wheel kw’s from your GTS-T/GTT, don't straight line drag a XR6T.
  14. Federal SS 595's here and yes they lack grip in the dry, are useless in the wet and have no feel to them. But for the price.. not too bad.
  15. Very interested. I'll book a car wash for afterwards.
  16. First drive was in a 97 GTS-t, unimpressed generally. 2nd drive 93 GTS-t far superior to the 97, started thinking about buying one. 3rd drive 98GTT, highly impressed. 4rd drive purchased my 96 GTR, Not the torque I'm used to but the top end is attractive.
  17. I'M in if there's room left
  18. Thank you so much. Knew something was wrong. Incorrect Add, stated it was a 96 model. But the engine is from a 95 car. Bugger, still a decent enougth price. Now to find the correct engine somehow.
  19. Ok got the real plate. BCN R33 - 006054. What a hassle buying one of these cars is. Most aprecative if I can get the year/spec/colour. and original engine number since it seems to have changed.
  20. Probably because it's genuine km. Used as a regular car. Original dash (shame, nismo would have been nice). Only ever seen one GTR with less than 30K and that was due to a dash replacement.
  21. Oh My god. What a classic car. Looks like it belongs in a Madmax movie. That car was old when I dreamed about my first car, but I'd loved to have owned it back then. Good luck with the sale.
  22. Sound advice. Asking for check on the VIN in this thread http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...id=2728440& I choose "state roads" over NRMA as NRMA only offered a local ford dealership as an inspector and they didn't know a thing about skylines. I considermyself a bit nieve but this chick had no idea, total sales person. But at least she spoke english unlike the mechanic. Paying an extra $200 for the fellow to travel there and back so unlikely I'd get anyone from a import tuner to attend not being their job.
  23. Can someone please check the following. Is it a genuine V-spec and do the dates match up for a 96 model? vin number is 6T91MPAAATYDBJ003 Engine number RB26053778A
  24. Well it does have some minor damage and is driven on hard roads so I'd say the suspension is likely stuffed. But for the price I'm thinking fair. Any hints on items to look for that "state roads p/l" might miss. How can I confirm it is genuine and not stolen etc apart from REVS?
