So, i will see all those who aren't afraid of the popo at 10 tomorrow at the museum for a gentle drive to braidwood. Shell, does someone have your number so we can call you when we are leaving? PM or sms me if you like 0416 051 224 If there is anyone out there who wants to come for the drive but doesn't have a ride let me know and i am sure that we can sort something out.
-
Hope to see people out now that the weather is nicer. i should be there around 9 and hassle anyone who is there to come on the drive tomorrow...
-
Oi! I travelled all the way to Sydney for the photo shoot, now where are my tyres damit!? hahaha. No, seriously where are they?
-
So, it looks like we will be doing the Braidwood run then. Since it isn't too far away, we could meet at the Museum carpark at 10, leave at around 10.30 for braidwood. This will leave us plenty of time for a relaxed look at the model shop and for lunch to settle before the drive home. Can everyone add their name to the list to get an idea of numbers. Donnan

So, it looks like we are going on saturday. I had a look at the cruise routes on the ACT section of EvolutionOz (thanks for doing the hard work guys) and have narrowed it down to 2 options: 1- We do a coast run. But, for this to be fun we would have to leave here early have lunch and drive back pretty much straight after to miss the traffic. 2- We take scott's option. It is reasonably long 494km, but it looks like it could be pretty fun. I can't see that there would be too much traffic along the minor roads either. We also have the option of which direction to take it. Canberra via Gundagai via tumut via Cooma 494 km – http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=d&hl=...mp;z=8&om=1 Let me know what you guys want to do. Option 2 has my vote! Donnan

It has come that time of year when there are more christmas parties then there are....well, anything. So i'd thought we could add another date to the calender. A few of us have already started discussions as to when, how and where to have it. The general idea is to have an enjoyable drive, have some lunch in some little country town and then drive home. We are looking for suggestions if anybody knows of a great road that leads to a great place for lunch (cheap pub style maybe?). As for dates, obviously next weekend is too soon, plus several people are heading up to Autosalon; and the following weekend there is a hillclimb on sunday. So that really only leaves the weekend of the 15th and 16th because the next weekend is too close to christmas. So, what we need is a prefered day and a location. Fire away any suggestions, we could possibly even make it a coast run? Also, everyone needs to keep in mind that we are not a proper car club, so anyone who attends does so at their own risk! Freakin PLI. Donnan

Thought i'd drag up this thread again. There are a few other clubs we could invite: BMW (very active club and apparently have some track specific cars) REACT (rotors) If we were struggling for numbers, we could possibly contact a few more clubs through CACTMC http://www.actmotorclubs.org.au/

Marques In The Park 2007 November 25th
Donnan replied to CeJay's topic in Australian Capital Territory
What a great day! It was really good to see so many cars in one place and that SAUCT (skylines australian capital territory) is getting bigger and better. A big thanks goes out everyone who helped especially Chris for organising and Mick for the sun-burn-saving tent and free stuff. Great photos as well, maybe we should colate them all together like we did for the night shoot? Really looking forward to the next couple of events. Donnan PS I didn't realise how famous my car is, there are more shots of it up here than i have on my own computer, hahaha! -
hope to be out, otherwise i will see some of you tomorrow in our cleaning frenzy.

Detailing Workshop Before Marques In The Park
Donnan replied to Michele's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Hahahaha... Anyways, unless anyone has a better suggestion, we could meet at the Canberra ave carwash at 12pm on sat 24, then go to my work for the detailing as i stated elsewhere. Please add your name to the list so i can give my boss some idea as to how many cars will be turning up. Donnan (no really, i will be there hahahaha) -
Detailing Workshop Before Marques In The Park

I know that the election is on the 24th and some have other commitments, but how about this:? Everyone gets up early and does the voting thing, then meets at the Fyshwick car wash on Canberra Ave at 12pm for a final rinse off (the cars people, get your mind out of the gutter). This will allow time for a few stragglers before we head to my work (pretty close by) for the workshop. Mick, i know it will depend on numbers but, how long do you think it will take? And, what did you have in mind to show us? -
I'm Ticked Off...what Gets You Wound Up?
Donnan replied to LTSJayce's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Pinheads who pull halfway onto the parkway kicking up enough dust and gravel to bring traffic to a crawl until we could all see again. Nice work you dried out the sphincter of the universe. Lucky i was in the other lane so i didn't cop too much. Traffic this morning was terrible. There weren't too many cars on the roads, but everybody was going under the speed limit in both lanes. And then there are those people who get into the right hand lane in because they just remembered that they have to turn in 5kms. There are times where i wish i had a big 4wd, i'd just push them out of the way! -
should be out around 9:30

Detailing Workshop Before Marques In The Park
Donnan replied to Michele's topic in Australian Capital Territory
My boss (great bloke that he is) has agreed to let us use the carpark at my work. It is in Fyshwick, so it is easy to get to; it's plenty big enough and it's under cover, but still gets plenty of natural light. Only issue is that it would have to be either this sat (17) or next sat (24). Oh, it is also secure, so we won't have any randoms to contend with and as long as everybody behaves themselves we will be able to use it again. Feel free to PM or call me to organise a time. 0416 051 224 Donnan -
Detailing Workshop Before Marques In The Park

I will probably clean my car before hand, but i would be keen to learn how to detail it properly and now that uni is finished i actually have some time on my hands now! -
Good luck! Hopefully you get to learn how to do cool stuff like run for hours with a big heavy pack, crawl through mud and get up at 5 in the morning. Sounds like fun to me. Anyways, hope all goes well and hopefully we will see you around christmas!? As for everybody else, do we really need encouragement to spend money on our cars? What else are you going to spend it on? Food? Rent? Maybe we need to set up a support group for those who are losing their way. Hahaha.

WIFE: What would you do if I died? Would you get married again? HUSBAND: Definitely not! WIFE: Why not - don't you like being married? HUSBAND: Of course I do. WIFE: Then why wouldn't you remarry? HUSBAND: Okay, I'd get married again. WIFE: You would? (with a hurtful look on her face). HUSBAND: (makes audible groan). WIFE: Would you live in our house? HUSBAND: Sure, it's a great house. WIFE: Would you sleep with her in our bed? HUSBAND: Where else would we sleep? WIFE: Would you let her drive my car? HUSBAND: Probably, it is almost new WIFE: Would you replace my pictures with hers? HUSBAND: That would seem like the proper thing to do. WIFE: Would she use my golf clubs? HUSBAND: No, she's left-handed. WIFE: - - silence - - HUSBAND: F**k

Mine is also full time, there is also room for growth and development if there are other related things that you are into

I work for a residential builder who does almost everything in house as a designer/draftie and we are in desperate need of an experienced estimator. This is kind of like a quantity surveyor for commercial jobs. We have tried the usual job agencies with no luck so far; so, if there is anyone out there who is or knows an estimator please give me a call or PM. Regards Donnan 0416 051 224

I also have a V8 nut at my work (although he has already expressed an interest in my car) He has a VTish SS and told about the mods he has done and that they added up to a huge 180rwkw! I was astounded as you could imagine, then asked what he had done to help get all that power to the ground; his response was that it was a real handful, but he didn't need to go around corners quickly. Now as if that wasn't funny/stupid enough, a few of us went out for a site visit and we piled into his car. Both front seats were at the hectic 45 degree angle even though he sat up straight most of the time. Now, for most of us this would be bad enough, but not this guy! As we pulled out of our carpark i noticed that he was not wearing his seat belt, so thinking he was distracted by our jokes, reminded him. He then gave me a look like i was asking him if the pope is into S&M and proudly told us that he hasn't worn one since he got his Ps. I think i just won this game! :laughing-smiley-014:
