Pizza Night And Act "club" Discussions 4th August
Donnan replied to a20089's topic in Australian Capital Territory
i'll be there for sure! (look forward to picking peoples' brains for knowledge and advice) Please PM details -
Freakin awesome! I would be hapy to see that again. The only down side is that now i like american muscle cars and their thumping v8s. Michael Bay has done well (even if he couldn't help but add in the love story). Heaps better than Pear Harbour!

Must have been while i was dropping off or picking up my wife, f##k head! I do not even know who you are and you are giving me this kind of shit. Grow up, get a life or go crawl under a rock and get your facts straight before you post this kind of sh!t.

probably out as usual, thermos in hand and rugged up!

So, i actually got to work today wanting to clear my current work load so that i could do something more interesting. But instead of that, we were locked out for half an hour and now only the internet works. No network = no work. Oh well, i guess i'll just have to drink coffee and surf the net until the server wakes up.

I thought that i had got the night wrong! That'll teach me to show up to an SAU event on time lol. Good to see everyone again and hope to do it again soon.

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY SHELL!! BTW, it would be nice if crime took a day off. Imagine if you could leave your car unlocked and go shopping and come back to an untainted car: nothing stolen and no scratches/damage. Ha Ha as if that could ever happen.

My Project For The Last Year- New Pic On The Second Page
Donnan replied to Style32's topic in Australian Capital Territory
I am very impressed! Good to see that J's can actually do some good work. Hate to think how much it cost. Hope to see it around town and not couped up in a garage between shows. Good job!! -
I am always oblivious as to who i see. (still can't put names-to-faces-to-cars) Having said that, i do see a nice selection of skylines and other performance cars. It varies too, depending on what time i start/finish work which is really good to keep me alert rather than falling asleep in traffic.

A sunday drive is really easy to organise, just look at my first post, that is all i did to organise the day! Maybe someone else could have a crack at it. Just figure out a date, time and a route that is interesting. Try not to change the details much or try to keep them secret as people flake pretty quickly if things change too much or find it difficult to find out what is going on. Hope to see you all soon!

It was a great drive and everyone seemed to enjoy and behave themselves. What a way to spend a couple of hours on a sunday; driving along some twisty roads with a bunch of similarly minded people. We only had one car injury which was a few lost wheel nuts and a sheared stud, meanwhile i got a bit out of shape around a tight corner (owning a GTR doesn't make you a better driver), but other than that it was a incident free event. It was good to meet up with everyone and see some new faces, we had about 10 cars for the cruise. Hopefully someone can organise another cruise before the SAU track day and we can get even more people to attend.

I should be out. I have a route in mind for sundays drive, but i am looking for any extra suggestions. Hopefully be there between 9 - 9.30

Hi everyone! I was thinking that since the weather is getting cooler, we should go for a drive and exploit some of our local roads. I was thinking about Sunday 15th of April partially because next weekend is too short notice for some and mainly because it is the Easter long weekend and people are heading off and the threat of double demerits are always looming. Anyway, I was thinking that we could head north from the museum to coppins crossing, urriara rd, cotter rd, then into tuggers for lunch. If there is anyone interested in coming but doesn't have a ride, post up and hopefully we will have some spare seats and it will help us to get to know each other. Date: 15/04/07 Time: 11am Place: Museum For: A bit of a drive (suggestions are welcome) Donnan

Yeah, should be out after 9-9.30ish. Hope to see a few of you guys out tonight or at sutton rd on sunday Donnan

Wow! What a day! Anyone who has not been on a track day is crazy. I always knew it would be fun, but it was freakin' awesome. Having an instructor in the car was fantastic because they actually show you how to drive your car properly and it makes a huge difference to how the car handles and how much faster you can actually go. To those who asked previously, yes it was an open track day which meant 15min on, 30min off. As this was my first time, it suited me perfectly. After 15min, I really needed a drink, some snacks, a pit stop and time to fiddle with the car and let it cool down. I was really lucky that i did not have any troubles with my car (apart from making a quick fuel run, not to self: take extra fuel next time), others had a few dramas like chewing through two sets of rear tyres, severe brakes fade (poor guy bled them twice and it still didn't really help), leaking radiator hoses and a dead engine; just the normal kind of stuff for a track day i guess? I just had my 100k service done the week before and the tyres are pretty new (not anymore!) so the car drove fantastically. After seeing what others were going through i can see that i saved myself alot of bs by taking care of the car. Before the next time i go out the car will be treated to another service and everything double checked again especially: 1-OIL 2-OIL 3-OIL 4-WATER 5-BRAKES My times weren't anything great, but i am happy with my first outing and already have a list of suspension mods that i want to do. This has made me even more keen to do another driving day, but with someone else (dreck i am looking in your direction) to get another point of view. Will not be for a while, have to let the bank balance recover first! Times in last session (very rough, mate with phone stop watch in pit lane) A couple of 1.23s Mostly 1.22s Even got a 1.20 someting See you on the track Donnan

Sorry for the super late notice, but i am wondering if there is anyone who may be still interested in a track day? Sorry Dereck, i am not actually organising this track day just atteding (is a present). Details: 14/03/07 (next wednesday!) 8:30am-5:00pm $300pp based on 4 people (gets slightly cheaper with more) Ricks fee, your wakefield licence and helmet are all covered; all you need to do is show up with a car and a full tank of fuel. Again, sorry about the late notice but two people dropped out and we would like to fill their spots if possible. I will be out at the museum tonight and at wheels on sunday, so anyone interested can talk to me then or call my mobile (0416 051 224) if needed. Thanks Donnan

I will be out as usual as long as the weather holds up!

Mine were really easy to remove. Unclip the metal brackets first then just peel them off. The tape holding mine on was still very flexible, so i just cut it as i went making sure that nothing got near the car itself. As for the remaining tape, it just rubbed off without any fuss. Used my fingers without any solvents at all. Total time was about 15-20min each side. Car looks cleaner and the road noise has reduced dramatically (I think the seal was pretty shagged). Good luck!

Hi all! I was thinking about organising a Rick Bates 'Performance Driving day' and wanted to know if anyone here has been on one and/or wanted to join in on one. Apparently Rick likes to keep the numbers between 4-5 and during the week seems to be the time to go (track always busy on weekends?). I know people always like to know dates before joining in on something, but at this stage I am just trying to get some feedback on interest and anyone who has done driver training before. Is there someone better? Cheaper? Rick charges about $285 per person (based on 4 people) for a full day. Wakefield licence and helmet is extra I think. Cheers Donnan http://www.batesadvanceddriving.com/index.html
