it helps if u shop around, if i went for like hiflow or kkr turbo, my upgrade would have only cost me slightly over 4k most of these parts were 2nd hand, but in good condition pfc 1000 injectors 550 afm 220 ebc 350 tune 450 = 2570 but i spent 2500 on a hks gt-rs so in the end 5k+ also saved a bit on labour as i got [Michael] on the forums to help me install the turbo for a carton haha

soz for high jacking the thread. but im having a simliar problem, with the temp going upto 130 degrees while driving on the freeway at 100km/h at 60-70k's around 2300rpm, the car stay at about 110 degrees. but once i go on a slope..the temp shoots up and the car knocks like crazy the car normally stays at about 85-95 degrees, but all this started happening after i gave the car shit yesterday giving the car shit shouldnt suddenly block the radiator lol? so what else could it be? i have flush the radiator but i cant test the car atm, have to wait til tomorrow. cheers

nothing wrong with hondas, i had a civic for 2 years..and it never broke down once, even with me thrashing the shit out of it. sure it was a bit gutless as it was non-vtec, but i could corner in that harder with shitty tyres, stock susp and bulk body roll than in my skyline with coilovers. many R model hondas would keep up, if not chop, many stock skylines on here. having said that, i chopped a brand new civic type R very hard recently lol saying vtecs are gutless and torqueless makes you as much as a fool as the honda boy who bragging bout vtec in the vtir

pretty sure they are AVS rims powder coated white, not sure of the exact model though. my old rims were the same and were a bitch to clean

after 1.5yrs+ of owning the car. One night while working on the car i had the fluorescent light really close to the and notice very faint writing on the drivers door then i had to put the light on certain angle and i could read what it said. it was the lame apexi blitz momo shopping list lol, ex-ricer car. dunno if it from an owner in aus or japan

icic, knew the cat was shit, didnt know it could make that much difference like shown on Al's graph. will invest in a new cat, is it worth it getting a 3.5inch split dump/front ? new coils are definitely on the list, but is the catch can really necessary? ne1 more ideas on the knocking? just a shit tune lol? cheers -

i've only had it missfire on my twice...and it goes away once i lift the throttle up. and both times were at full throttle around 5000rpm i think the missfiring issues should be alright after new splitfires, spark plugs have been changed too. im more concerned bout why it knocks atm and sorry this is the only dyno graph i have, dont know what that bottom curve is lol -
yes, another thread about poor results. i think it is the tuner? but ill see what you guys think the mods are: HKS GT-RS turbo Power Fc ACVR ebc fmic apexi pod 3.5inch cat back 3inch dump/front xforce hiflow cat...also have bashed out stock cat, cant really feel a difference between the 2 BOSCH 040 fuel pump Z32 AFM Nismo 740cc injectors with these mods i was expecting bout 350hp. but no lol some of the stuff below may be a lil irrelevant, but i thought you guys might want to know the full story. so i got my car tuned a few weeks back. got crap results at 300rwhp @ 1bar, so the tuner reckons whenever put sets the car more than 1 bar the car starts knocking. there is the ocasional misfiring too, but nothing major. so i thought it's ok for now but the knock readings show on the pfc were hell high on normal driving, barely boosting and it reads 50+, and engine light comes on sometimes too, so i took it back and he reckons he just needs to change the timing abit. and he does that. all this time my boost gauge shows it's hitting 1.1-1.3bar, but i think it's because it's cold and has nothing to do with the ebc ok so the car is still knocking. and fuel economy is shithouse. 260k's out of the first tank...my rear bumper is all black lol so retune is done free of charge. but the car still knocks and this time it's only making 290hp? @1bar again. now fuel economy is now better but still not good. i got 320km's out of a tank..still a bit rich as i still get a black rear bumper after 2 days lol and my boost gauge and ebc still reads the car is hitting 1.2bar, but again it may just be becasue of the cold weather the knocking is still there, but only when the car is cold and for the first 5mins of driving, sometimes so high the engine light flashes. and im not boosting either but when the car is warm and i give it shit it doesnt knock at all lol, stays under 30 tuner doesnt know what is causing the knocking. comp and leak down test has been done and it's fine. What do you guys think it is? im thinking of bashing out the xforce cat and put that in as it's 3inch and getting split dump and front....if thats gonna make a difference and also splitfires for the misfiring problem should i go back to the same tuner ? been there 3 times and he still cant find the problem..he says it's the car...but i think it may be him lol here's the dyno sheet for the first tune. i dont think it has changed much. do u guys reckon it's the tune? or do i need to change some part? oh and my bov is very quiet for some reason, might quieter running at 1.2bar than at 0.8bar lol also boost doesnt come on that early as some say about the gtrs, does that have anything to do with the tune? cheers
