justine, hello. girls are always welcome in SAU. dont swap engines into a non turbo skyline. its a massive waste of money. take it easy, and if its easy, take it home. love adam
-
either. if its an r32 you really want, search for a r32 that someone has already put an rb25, and go from there. the outright purchase prise will be a bit higher, but you will have a great platform to work from. all the hard work will have been done. with the engine sorted, there is still PLENTY to modify on a car that is 20 years old. the suspension and brakes are major components that often get overlooked, or you can do a full restoration job (have a look at chris rogers restoration project in the build thread). what ever you do make sure you get a good mechanic to give it a once over before you buy it.
-
sell it and buy a mazda 3
-
do you HAVE to have 2 cars? for a start, unless you are keeping the skyline as a stock daily, dont spend a cent on it. its na. just let it get you from A to B. If you buy a 180, i guarentee you will stop driving the skyling, and realise hoe average an na r33 is compared to a 180sx. so keeping it will be pointless. as for an mx5.. REALLY? like, yeah i get.. "they handle like a go-cart and blah blah blah, but REALLY? in summary, your on your p's. wait it out. if you want a new car NOW, buy a forester and drive ya mates round in comfort. if you still want to go fast and shit in 2013, deal with it then.

^^+1 but as i said before, unless you have heaps of disposable income, plus a daily driver/ work car, plus the mechanical knowledge, plus the tools, plus the mates to help you out, plus the best part of 6 months - 1 year, do not spend the money on putting a 25/30 in you na silvia. its that simple. if your nigel petrie, do it. but your not. otherwise get a solid base car, as everyone has said, and build from there. im speaking from years of experience, passion, and trial and error.
-
at the end of the day its your hard earned money. do what ever you want. you can spend a whole bunch of cash on building a car and swapping engines etc etc, or start with a solid base and spend alot less to get the same end result. choice is yours.... only thing is one of the choices is a long, painfull, f**kING EXPENSIVE process, the other is very enjoyable and rewarding, and alot more simple.

R32 Gts4 - Restoration/rebuild
adamskill replied to Chris Rogers's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
is the 32 your daily chris? -
ditch the silvia, and get a rb25 r33. they are DIRT CHEAP these days!! and plenty of nice ones to choose from in qld. im not a huge 33 fan, my heart is with 32's, but for the price, 33 is a good package. or throw a few more beans in the pot and get a 34gtt. newer and nicer to drive. dont f**k around with engine swaps and crap like that. its just not worth it. with all the money you would spend on an engine swap you could buy a 32gtr. na s13's fetch an ok price these days from the p plate brigade, so sell it, and buy somthing that doesnt require engine swaps, or anything that may or may not happen "in the future" also, why have you randomly chosen the target of 280kw? a nice tune on a rb25 with less power than that is fun on the street. why is 280kw better than, say 230 with the correct turbo and tune? 280 with a laggy turbo and poor tune will be junk. my advice, dont aim for a "number". you dont drive number. aim for a car that suits you. and finally, everyone puts shit on rb20's. but they are a great little engine. have a look in the rb20 sticky. can get great response from them

$7500 Offers over $7000 considered -
are you implying that $350 per rim is expensive???? that is DIRT and i mean DIRT CHEAP!
-
whats that equate to in terms of a full tank of fuel? how big is the fuel tank? also any idea how different it is for a stck standard model?
-
what are they like to drive? do they 'feel' as big as they look? (no offence intended) i currently have a wrx wagon. it handles like a go cart, but its pretty heavily modified, and it really no suited to where i currently live. i cant even drive it up our road as its a dirt road on a farm. looking for somthing that isnt too fragile, but looks the goods and handles/ preforms well, but still tame enought for the mrs to drive and not have to worry about her safety..

The Evolution Of "night Fury"
adamskill replied to jez NF's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
i think the silver rims look awesome. imho i really dont like the gold/silver ones you have at all. te37's are amazeballs, but if the silver ones you mate has can be bought at a sweet price, i say do it!! and PLEASE dont paint any part of them gold. -
For Sale is my 1996 Impreza WRX Hatchback. It is an amazing car, and is in immaculate condition, with just 157,000ks on the clock. The reason it's up for sale is because I have just moved from Brisbane to a farm in the Ballina area, and unfortunately it is not a practical car for where I am now living. i am gutted to be selling it, and for this price too, its an absolute steal! The car has been modified, but is still very comfortable, and a great daily driver. mods include: -2001 WRX engine and gearbox -Heavy duty clutch -Full Exhaust -Front & Rear Strut Braces -Pedder's Coil Over Suspension -Brand New Brake Rotors and Pads -2006 WRX Wheels with brand new Federal Tyres -After Market Intercooler -STI Injectors & Fuel pump -Tinted Windows The car has been owned and modified by a mature owner. It is always driven with respect, and has never been thrashed. It has been meticulously maintained and serviced every 5000k's with top shelf products. The car will be sold fully roadworthy, and registered, and it can be swapped over to NSW rego if need be. This genuinely is a very regretful sale, and you will not find a cleaner, or more well looked after WRX of this age, and this price. I am happy to answer any questions you may have about the car as quickly as I can. Please note, any time wasters, joy riders, or low ball offers will be ignored. I am located in the Ballina area, NSW Price is $10,000 PM me for pics, as they are all bigger than the 2mb limit Adam

mate unless its highly modified, just take it to any reputable mechanic. its just a car.
