  1. The Mrs has a 2004 pulsar. While its great around town, about 2 hours is the most I can put up with before it gets too uncomfortable.
  2. Thanks warps. Any jap/imports come to mind? What about a late 90's early 2000 5 series BMW?
  3. Cheers mate. Magnas and camrays.... How would they stack up to the challenge?
  4. I've got no problems with getting a como or falcon, what sort of distance, on average, can you get on a tank of lpg in a falcodore? Are there any models that stand out? I think the new falcon g6e look really smart, but a bit out of my price range
  5. Haha no way. They are fine around town, but too small for me for long hauls.
  6. Hey guys, I live in brizzy, and will soon be working full time near chinchilla, about 5 hours drive away. My work is usually FIFO, but this site is DIDO. I am going to have to buy a car anyway, as me and the Mrs share one at the moment, so I need to get something that is comfortable for frequent long journeys, but it also has to be fuel efficient. I'd get a falcodore, but they aren't that great efficiency wise.. Any ideas? Adam
  7. bingo! its pretty simple, unless its in pretty bad condition, then it can be a bit difficult trying to get enough leverage on it to crack the thread. ive had to take the dump pipe off in the past so i could work on it.
  8. the best advice i ever received about work was.. "the first step is to find something you absolutely love doing.. the second step is to find someone willing to pay you to do it!" as for the money side of things, making a good wage is always nice, but for me working in an establishment and with people you like and get along with, and can take pride in are far more important that getting top dollar.
  9. just dont run a bov. ive deleted them from my last 2 turbo cars.. (wrx & r33 gtst)
  10. thhe evo seats are awesome!!! and it comes with the correct rails... win.
  11. its getting towards the high end for stock examples, but yes you are wrong, it is not "really overpriced"
  12. im currently working a contract for QGC near chinchilla.. the plant will be up and running in 2 weeks. CSG is about to explode!
  13. cheap. their going in the bin soon.
  14. ads you have dumped some coin on this beast. love it! completely off topic, how do you rate the stag as a daily?
  15. terry, are you implying that EGO shares will soon live in your portfolio ?
  16. i agree to a certain extent. there are plenty of things joe average cant pick up on. eg i inspected a subaru forester for sale with no RWC for a friend once, i declared it to be fine to pass RWC, only to have the inspecting officer say that the drivers seat needed replacing due to having too much wear on the padding! goes to show that its not always the simple stuff that matters. that makes perfect sense IF there is no problems.. otherwise that small sum of $80 can get pretty big!! In my experience, that is a very naive way to purchase a car.
  17. the Australian bureau of stats quotes that the average weekly wage is around the $1300 mark. now let me say that i dont hang around with 'dead shits' or anything of the sort.. most of my friends/ family are blue collar trades men. i have a few mates who have uni degree's and doctorates, and from what i know, out this sample demographic of friends and family, our 'average' weekly wage is not at the $1300 mark. there must be a huge amount of people out there making massive money to pull the 'average' up to $1300 per week. tl;dr? i want THEIR job..
  18. Correct me if im wrong, but you guys pay WAY less for jap imports, yeah?
  19. As you have said, the car has NO rwc. the engine and turbo are probably the least of your worries. id say it will be brakes and suspension, small leaks, and gaskets that will set you back money to get the vehicle up to road worthy condition. i will never buy a car with no RWC when the seller said they 'dont have time to get a rwc' or 'it will pass road worthy with no problems'.. a car is the second most expensive thing you will buy/sell in your life. if you cant find an hour to get a rwc on a car that has 'no problems', than BUYER BEWARE
  20. ...person A makes 100k per annum.. ...person B makes 30K per annum.. ...average wage is 65k per annum.. ...person A feels like a boss.. ...person B ends up on anti depressants..(that he hopes he can bulk bill)
  21. i think it looks rad. its brutal uglyness is why its so tough.
  22. your thermostat is rooted mate
