mate to be perfectly honest, its just like buying ANY other second hand car. Do the basic checks, get a mechanic to look the car over before purchase, make sure the car is sold with a current RWC! I'd personally be looking for a stock one if it was me. the rest is pretty simple. your not buying the delorean.. its just a nissan sports car. look for rust, service history, body damage, general condition of the car etc etc etc.. BUT, these are all things you should do when buying ANY CAR. dont let the fact that is a "SKYLINE!!" change how you inspect it.

you have covered the basics. next step engine mod wise starts getting EXPENSIVE!, with injectors, bigger turbo, fuel pump, proper ecu and tune, coil packs, etc the list is endless. as 4show said, i'd now focus on suspension, brakes, wheels and tyres, and do them properly with quality parts!!! 300hp is fine to want, but if your car cant use that power, than there is no point in having it.

Can i just ask why not just use a nistune board on the r33 rb25 ecu? remember reading one of martin donnons editorials about stock ecu's, and how they are actually really quite a lot better than what they are given credit for. just wondering what the point would be of tuning an ecu that is made for a completely different car and engine??

i take it you are interested in buying it? you havn't mentioned. just do what you would do in any situation involving buying a car. if your not too car savy, ask to take it to a mechanic to look over it. if he says no, WALK AWAY. if he is selling it unroadworthy, than thats what it is.. UNROADWORTHY. your post doesnt really give much away either. do you want to buy it, do you just want to know about it? what are YOUR intentions? seriously dude, just get the yellow pages and find an aircon specialist in your area. call him. tell him what you just told us, and get an ACTUAL answer. it will take you 30 seconds, and then you will know for sure.
