Buying Cars From Another State
adamskill replied to deadweight's topic in General Automotive Discussion
whether you are swapping your rego from another state to NSW, or registering an un-registered vehicle (i.e "cashing in your old rego and starting from scratch"), the process is still exactly the same as how i have previously stated. no, i didnt get a 'tosser' at the RTA, this is now the process, and everyone must do it. To be perfectly honest, i dont know why you dont just contact the RTA and ask them, rather than a random Internet forum?? FYI this link took me approximately 30 seconds to find. http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/getnewrego/interstatevehicles.html -
Opinions On What Color For Respray (R33)
adamskill replied to spacepants_fb's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
i voted other. there are SO MANY different colours to choose from these days. not just custom colours, but manufacturers have HEAPS to choose from too. go look through a BMW catalogue, or even jump on the USA nissan web site and have a look. dont limit yourself to 2 random colours. -

Any Nissan Juke Fans?
adamskill replied to Iron Chef's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
I spend half my time in the UK, and half in OZ, and i tells ya both the duke and qashqai are unbelievably popular, AND im sure you will back me up here, awesome little cars. Although we get the dualis, wich is basically the qashqai, i would LOVE to see the duke on aussie roads. me and the mrs would snap one up for sure. there is one that lives near our place in stratford-upon-avon, and has a HUGE fmic, and jap rims, and tints, and looks so good! -
Mate a skyline is just another car. its not like your looking to but a veyron or somthing, its just an old jap sports car. just do the usual checks and get a mechanic to look it over before purchase. the fact you have never driven one before means nothing, like i said, its just another car. it doesn't shoot lasers or have a flux capacitor, its just a car. if your worried about the power of the engine, dont drive it like a fuck head. the car only performs how the driver operates it, so dont drive it hard til your used to it. pretty simple really..

C33 Rb20Det Laurel (Vic)
adamskill replied to s13-mikey's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
mikey, love the car. genuine question, how much do you think it would cost to get this thing roadworthy so it can actually be driven? im basically after a ball park figure on how much, including purchase price, would need to be spent to have a driveable, registered vehicle, and then compare it to what else could be purchased with the same money. cheers adam -
dont mean to be rude but the seller made it perfectly clear he was moving over seas and needs the car gone. why would he be keen to swap? OP, looks like a great little project car. Good luck with the sale

I live in brisbane, and the last thing i want is another unroadworthy shit box driving around and potentially putting my friends/ family at risk. but the real issue here is, you are not a 'mexican student looking for help'. you are looking for dodgy mechanics / cars with dodgy RWC, so you can go bust them. we take SAU very seriously, we have enough trouble trying to show the general comunity that we aren't a bunch of 'hoons'. we dont need this crap. we are car enthusiasts. no one on this forum will fall for your bull shit. how many mexican students would ever sign up to a very niche car forum, without owning the said car, and ask for info on who gives dodgy rwc?

How Often Do You Change Your Engine Oil?
adamskill replied to Shoryuken's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
usually every 5000k's. i have a few cars to look after tho, so sometimes it can be either more or less, i forget if i dont put it in my book the wrx likes it every 3000k's. heavily modified, and shitty boxer engine...stinks of fuel. the skyline likes it every 5000k's. engine runs like a dream. the pulsar could probably go for 20,000k's before it needed an oil change (it doesn't tho..). its an absolute gem of a car. bullet proof! the rodeo likes it every 5000k's. its a dirty f**k of an engine. -
the sad truth, that MANY people fail to realise, and you see it ALL the time in for sale add's is, after market mods do not add value to a car. so many times i have seen cars for sale with the seller quoting all the prices for the 'mods' that they have installed on their car, with the intention of making the money back they have spent on it. Unfortunately it just does not work like that...

i reckon it 8", the mrs reckons it 6". long story short, its how you use it.

What Kind Of Rims Do You Guys Think....
adamskill replied to willzgtst's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
my n15 pulsar has great condition stock pulsar alloy wheels. tyres are new, and quite cheap to replace, as they are only quite small. the wheels also come with a very unimpressive offset, so police dont bother you. You clearly state that money is NOT an issue, so i can let you have them for say, $50 each. Lemme know your thoughts. Love adam -
mate just keep searching carsales. it pretty strait forward. i personally have had 3 pulsars. they are super reliable, EASY to work on, cheap for parts, VERY CHEAP to insure, and plenty for sale to choose from. you really cant beat them. also, if you can get a good condition sss pulsar for 5k, i'd grab it if i was you!!

I have an issue with the windscreen wipers. All speeds work fine, EXCEPT the intermittent setting. the wipers stop in the middle of the screen, then go again when they feel like it. there is power getting to the wipers, that not a problem, like i said its only the intermittent setting that plays up and freezes all the time. any ideas?

im a pretty big carsales.com, carpoint.com, and drive.com creep. i watch them ALL the time, with no intention to buy, i just like browsing, and seeing what certain cars are selling for. mostly imports. anyway, had a look at your forsale add.. to answer you question directly, no i dont think you are asking too much. it looks like a very nice RS4. will you get what your asking for it? maybe. if you are prepared to wait long enough. As soon as people see a $13,500 on a second hand import, they will instantly assume that you will take $11,500 or $12,000. Bearing that in mind, if you have had it for sale for a while, and you drop the price slightly, people will act accordingly, and once again, assume that you will take less than you are asking. So you friend who sold his stock RS4 for $9,500 could have been asking, say, $11,000 and was offered $9,500 and because he wanted/ needed the car sold, took the offer up. Unfortunately its the nature of selling second hand cars. and modified imports are quite a niche market these days..

Buying Cars From Another State
adamskill replied to deadweight's topic in General Automotive Discussion
NSW is a tough state to swap into. i swapped my qld registered car to nsw just before xmas, and it was far from easy.. i will NEVER do it again. - had to fill out the required paperwork - had to have the car weighed at a special weigh centre - had to show proof of purchase and current qld RWC - had to show receipt for 12 months CTP insurance (wich was f**kin stupid, as the car was already full comp insured in qld, and my insurer was fine for me to change my address with them, and keep my current policy.. BUT NSW are a bit back the front with insurance.. as far as i can gather you need CTP, even if you have full comp as well!!??) - had to have the car put over the rta pits for inspection, and pass (again, annoying, as i had to have a valid qld RWC) - then finally had to buy 12 months NSW rego. so all in all, i spent a fair chunk of money, had days without my car, had to run around like a blue arsed fly, and had to have 12 months rego on it, when all i could afford was 6. from what i was told, this has been implemented fairly recently, to try and combat interstate re-birthing and things of that nature. IMHO if you can, dont buy interstate. or if you like the sound of doing all that ive said above (this applys to anyone wanting to change it interstate, not just me) than strat yourself in and go for it! -
love it mate. what are your plans for it? you going to keep those wheels and that front bar on it for long?
