Seems Like I Have Low Power On My R33
tek_01 replied to tek_01's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
ok so it looks like i am being paranoid... i was going to see how quick i go down the quarter mile just as sort of reassurance (if i was getting over 15sec id suspect something is wrong) oh well just gotta keep modifying to make it quicker thanks for all the info fellas -

Seems Like I Have Low Power On My R33

17x7 i believe, 225 tyres the point being i dont want to make my wheels spin, but i would have thought they should be able to spin without too much force -
hey fellas i might just be paranoid but i feel my skyline is not that quick at all, like i do not get any wheelspin on 1st if i take off normally than flatten it,. unless i hook a corner etc or rev dump it. and cant break traction shifting into 2nd either unless i rev it with clutch in on gear change and let go what i have a series 1 r33 gtst with turbo back exhaust, 10psi boost, FCD,gtr fuel pump, apexi pod in UAS box, standard side mount/computer/turbo/suspension, 225 nankangs on r34gtt rims i have put it on the dyno before and got 175kw on a dyno dynamics dyno and about 153 on a mainline dyno i have changed the spark plugs to new platinums and my coils are in good nick. no missing.... also changed fuel filter oil filter and oil 4000ks ago. so what im asking is, does this sound right ? or should i be braking traction as i described before??? (i know its not really a good comparison by saying 'break traction' but yeah it gives you a rough idea) was going to take it to wsid tonight but looked like rain so maybe next week

i think a r32 aswell, it is very hard to find a celica in good nick as someone said... i was looking for about 2 months with no luck ended up buying an r33 which i dont regret =) not a fan of 4wd unless of course its a gtr -
cheapest and ok for up to under 300kw would be either a walbro one or a 33gtr one both can be had for about $150 if u know where to look bosch 040 is good too but i think isnt rated as high as the above 2 someone correct me if im wrong and they are around the 200 mark

1- r33gtr pump 2- 33gtst exhasut, air intake, boost controller under 200kw installation was not too good as i couldnt use the r33 rubber mount on the gtr pump so i took it to a workshop and they did it (dont know if they used anything to be honest) noise level is ridiculous... loud when priming, softer when idling but still audible no starting issues 1/4 tank syndrome not sure as i just installed it

have 2 spoilers both black in colour first is a series 1, pretty much perfect condition with tail light working and wiring in tact $50 second is a series 2, light working and wiring intact, black but has 3 stains from where fruit has dried up and destroyed the paint it has been polished but still visible. (bought this off someone from here saying it would buff out, but surprise surprise...it doesnt.. and off course wouldnt give me money back) so would suit respray or someone who isnt picky $40 pickup from bankstown after hours/weekends or mattraville from 7am - 3.30pm weekdays

hmmm, anyone else? also the fking rubber mount doesnt match up with the gtr pump so now im stuffed with no car to go anywhere. spewing hard! also there is a thing on top of the pump that the gtst one didnt have, whats that for? and also a threaded hole underneath the pump too am i missing anything else? like a pressure relief valve or something?? -
hey fellas putting a r33 gtr pump in my gtst abd just wondering. where the lugs go onto the pump, the positive has a rubber boot around it and the negative doesnt.. just wondering what would happen if the positive one did not seal properly? would there be a risk of explosion ?? reson being is the gtr pump has a slightl different mounting point so it does not seal up 100% anyone give me confirmation that its ok for them not to be 100% insulated?? thanks, awaiting reply before i do anything else

also forgot to add, the parts from nissan are $120 for manifold gasket, aboujt $40 for turbo to manifold gasket, and about $3 each stud from nissan also there are locking nuts ands special washers which i think are about $3 each aswell
-
depending on how bad the damage is, the studs will cost from say $80 upwards. to give u an idea i payed 350 for 5 studs that were either broken, cross threaded, or put in crooked etc. completely stuffed. other have payed just over 100 to take out 4 studs so i guess it depends who does it aswell yeah that noise could be coming from the exhaust manifold gasket but get someone to check it before u do anything
-
yeah i asked u a question but u never replied, if it is in good condition with lights working etc and if it is the standard black for skylines. let me know mate
-
how much do u want for it?
-
ok coz i was worried with it being so close to 0 on idle and stuff...
-
after a s2 spoiler for my series 1 must be black thanks

hey fellas just been looking at my oil pressure gauge and it is sitting between 0-2 when im idling this i assume is 1kg/cm2 of pressure which equals 14.2 psi of pressure am i correct in saying this? also i have read that sometimes the gauges/senders can go faulty and is better to get an aftermarket one etc etc but just curious to see what is the normal psi idle range for a 33gtst? and also what it should go up to (mine goes up to about 4 on high revs but sits usually around 2.5-3 when driving normally any info appreciated ps; heres a conversion table that i used http://www.csgnetwork.com/prestableinfo.html thanks

it rained pretty heavily today and notied my rear left indicator/reverse light assembly is full of water like a fish tank lol... tried to take the light out but got stuck i have removed the 5 (10mm size) bolts, and also a couple screws but it wont budge. is that all i need to remove? i assume it is only the glue holding it in? where would sell that sort of glue as it is not silicone (remains sticky)... bunnings?

i had a smiliar problem on my old pulsar, it was the lower control arm bush. dont know if they use control arms tho...
