yeah i migh end up doing that but not too soon, just wondering if it is an easy fix and by checking the fluid i meant the power steering fluid (read somewhere that this sometimes affects the light)

hey all i have a 33 series 1 hicas light comes on after aout 10min of driving. i have the standard steering wheel and the fluid is full is it possible that the steering wheel has been changed and than changed back to an original one when coming to australia, and doing so has caused the light to come on (ie it has beed put on crooked or it doesnt work like that?) its annoying having it light up so any suggestions appreciated thanks

i am waiting for my mate who is a trusted mechanic to come on saturday to check it out, dont know if he will be able to do much as he doesnt have a hoist (mobile mechanic) but ill see what he says, than if all else fails ill go to a wheel/suspension place to check it out its more dominant on the passenger side and especialy when you are driving close to a gutter/kerb as it seems the sound bounces back so its louder maybe i should borrow someones front wheels for a test drive

hey all found the wire for the parking lights so i can connect the boost gauge too but problem is it goes into the loom straight away and doesnt give me much room to connect a wire in the steerning column so i want to find it after the loom anyone know where it goes to? from memory it is a red wire with a green trace (could be wrong tho) thanks

to the first reply, there is no weights on the wheels where i can see, there might be on the inner part of the wheel... and to the second question, what do you mean by flat spot???

hey all my car has got a ticking noise that sounds exactly like there is a screw stuck in the front tyre. it has been (supposedly) put on a hoise and checked all tyres and wheels for any problems but cant find any this is what the dealer said. he also said he tried new rims and it went away so its either the rim or the tyre. they offered me $300 off so i can change the front tyres and if it still dont go away to swap rims with another skyline they had there but they were uglyyyyyy wheels so i dont want them. car is a series 1 r33 with r34 gtt wheels on it, and nankang crappy tyres (new) there is like 2mm clearance between the caliper and wheels on the front the noise speeds up and slows down according to car speed, when going under 15kms it cannot be heard and not sure if u can hear it when u go above 60 as it is more heard on the passenger side so what im really asking is, if it aint a tyre or rim, what the hell can it be??

2500rpm it goes away, doesnt happen in first, really slightly in second but the higher in gears the louder it gets mechanic is coming on saturday to check it out the car is pretty stock with only a kakimoto exhaust and BOV, but who knows what they done to it in japan

will post for free if no one wants it by next weekend i will get an exhange from the store for something else (dont need anything from that particular store atm thats why i want to sell it)

have on of these i bought brand new, unopened black in colour. dont need it because my alarm has a turbo timer built in $120 pickup from bankstown, will supply receipt

will the grille fit a series 1 r33? if it does how well would it fit?

hey all i done a search but couldnt find what i was looking for, here is the problem, when the car is off the needle on the boost gauge is at the bottom (-7) and when car turned on it goes to 0 so that leads me to believe the gauge is working but it is not receiving a signal? possibly the hose isnt connected as it sits a 0 regardless of revs or stopping which should have some vaccum right? ive never had a turbo so i dont know where to look to see if its connected. btw i have a r33 series 1 so if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated thanks

hey all just picked up my r33 today and i have already found a couple problems with it. one of the main ones is this.. when im driving especially at low revs in a higher gear i put my foot down and i hear some grinding noise, from what i understand the most stress is put on the clutch when its in a high gear at low revs? so its making this weird ass noise that goes away one the revs pick up maybe 1000rpm. the higher the gear the worse the problem. doesnt feel like clutch is slipping at all.. to be honest it sounds like a monster turbo spooling up but its grinding instead of being smooth.. hard to explain so does anyone have any ideas? possibly flywheel needs machining or clutch is on the way out???

sorry i havent read all 64 pages before maybe the first 10 or so but didnt find the answer. so just a few quick q's if anyone can help 1 - are these still available ? 2 - are they a boost controller that gets rid of the original solenoid in the r33 so u can run whatever boost your car is capable of?? (sorry 1st turbo car so not 100% familiar with the system) thanks

hey all, ill be purchasing a boost gauge as soon as i get my car so i have a couple questions firstly what type are considered the best mechanical or electrical? and are any of them illegal in nsw? second what types are there available.. most known brands like hks, apexi etc have readings in bar not psi and id rather have it in psi as its easier to read as i know most things in psi i know there is cheapie ones like speco etc but not real keen on them. i am after perhaps something with a black face but not too fussed.. 50-60mm in size. ideally id like to spend not more than $120 on one but if quality ones are more than ill spend it ive searched places like psiparts, uas, justjap and a few others but nothing really matches what i want so if anyone has any suggestions im interested in hearing them thanks

hey all just a quick question, im purchasing an r33 that has these wheels on them which i think are from an r34 gtt http://www.japimports.com.au/images/cars/car028.jpg just wondering are they the right offset etc to go on my car? because there is a ticking noise that is in timing with something on a tyre coming from either passenger front or rear (like a screw stuck in the tyre that ticks faster and faster as u go faster) the dealer is trying to sort it out and he said they might be the wrong offset because he cant find nothing in the tyre at all also he changed the whole left side rims with another type and they didnt make any noise so he has narrowed it down to the rim or tyre... im impatient and just want to know if it the rims hitting on the calipers or something to that extent. thanks
