PRICE DROP: Now $1500 Pickup Hey all got some 19s but had a change of mind after buying them. Details are Fronts: 19 x 8.5 with 235/35/19 nexxen i think the brand is BRAND NEW tyres just driven home from the tyre place Rears:19 x 9.5 with 275/30/19 Kumhos. 4 days old so basically 99% tread left offset is +35 for i think the rears but not sure about fronts or vice versa but fit an R33 GTST (wheels are still inside the guards) Fully balanced, with new nuts and locknuts ready to go! Asking price is what i payed for them $2000 but am slightly negotiable also willing to trade for performance parts for a R33 GTST Eg: power fc / turbo / injectors / let me know what you got Pic below, Rear is standard height Front is on Kings lows (1.5" lower than stock) located in bankstown so pickup from there, probably wont post unless really interested

Need Advice On New Wheels
tek_01 replied to tek_01's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
same widths and offset as you just in 19s 275 rear 245 front they were lows sprigns so 1.5" lowetr than standard so it would have been 340-350mm center of wheel to guard btw i have an r33 not r34 (have r34 gtt wheels tho) -

Need Advice On New Wheels
tek_01 replied to tek_01's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Heres a pic, the front is lowered the back is standard i rekon the wheels look awesome BUT i dont want to sacrifice driveability -
story goes, i had r34gtt rims on my car (17 x 7.5) bought some 19 x 8.5 front 19x9.5 rear (35 and 30 profile accordingly) i absolutely hate the handling and feel of the new wheels and to make it worse i lowered it 1.5" so its not sitting like a 4wd and now i cant drive it faster than 20km/h without it rubbing its nuts off put the old springs back on so its drive-able, now im going to return the wheels so i got a few options and i need some advice from some people who have experience option 1: get my r34 rims back on and leave them on option 2: get some 18x8 all round option 3: get some 18x8.5 and 18x 9.5 rears question is, would it still be a crap ride (ie bumpy, car follows grooves in road etc) if i get even 8.5 and 9.5 inch wide rims even if they were 17s/18s i think im leaning towards getting my old rims back and HOPEFULLY get a refund, but they might want me to exchange so id like to know before i go there and f**k up again and i dont want no one saying ive put 19s/20's on without it scrubbing etc etc, i bought the car so i can drive it like its meant to, not to be worrying how fast im going around a bend incase it rubs (god damn impulse buys!)

19s will look good but will give you a bumpy ride coz of the lower profile tyres. id go 18s if i had the choice again
-
Fronts have been sorted, just after some rears..preferably from someone in syd to avoid postage costs kane-32 you will probably be looking for more than im willing to pay, i picked up the fronts for $50 so dont want to spend much more for the rears

theres been alot of people that have had problems with walbros running lean as they get higher up sure they should handle up to about 300kw but usually they dont i have one and its fine but im only running 200kw.. anyhow its just what i have read from others exprience so dont take my word for it
-
in my case (R33) i took a good 2/3hours maybe even more for the whole thing but they are real to take out, require ALOT of force. I thought it was the seal around the tail light that went bad but it wasnt coz it still does the same thing it actually was the seal between the reverse light section and brake light section (if you have an r33 you know what i mean) ended up doing what the fellow up above said, drilled small holes and never looked back!

got mine done for $220 or $250 by a mobile guy, in sydney didnt do front windscreen tho any darkness i chose was same price
-
yes it will be ok for that target but not much more if your dead set you dont want no more than get the walbro/040 but MAKE SURE you dont want to go more because you will end up buying twice like alot of people if i were to do it again, id spend the extra $250 and get a nismo/tomei from the start (ill have to do this when i change the turbo)

Changed Wheels Now Car Follows Grooves In Road
tek_01 replied to tek_01's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
hmmmm, they look nice but starting to wonder now..... -
are they the lows or the super lows? how much would post be? keeping in mind a new set can be had for $175 maybe even cheaper
-
as the title says, i changed from 17x7.5 all round to 19x8.5 and 19x9.5 rear no scrubbing which is good but car is like a 4wd now lol, just gotta lower it 1 inch but what ive noticed is that it follows grooves in the road now, why is that?? is it just how it is, or i have some worn bushes which are made more noticeable with the bigger wheels

Knocking Sounds When Braking In Reverse
tek_01 replied to tek_01's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
haha, not bad anyone else -
yeah search will give u much more info but to break it down chamfer leading and trailing edges on brake pad scuff up brake pad surface with 80 grit sanpaper use anti-squeal compound on the shims (you do have shims, dont you??) lubricate all pins etc that need it machine rotors, or in your case you have new ones bleed the brakes do a good bed in session to get them really bed in thats about all i can think of but yeah i have the same problem (different pads tho) and after about 2 weeks they settled down on their own damn brakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol good luck

Strut Brace/bar With Brake Stopper
tek_01 replied to OoskylineoO's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
well my one (not incorporated into the strut brace) screws into the 2 exisitng threaded holes in the engine bay and than the bolt would touch the end of the master cylinder so it it were to flex, it wont be able to unless its some sort of funky brake stopper i dont think it will be too hard to do, when you see it you should tell straight away where it should go -
Anybody Heard From Sydneykid Lately?
tek_01 replied to simpletool's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
exactly the same boat as you paid late july for some parts and not even a confirmation he has my money but some admins have told me it should be ok as he is just super busy piss weak excuse but oh well, as long as i get my parts HOPEFULLY before he goes away -
looking for some springs 1" lower than standard for r33 gtst tell me what u got thanks

got this sound thats coming from the front right. it happens when i stop on an uphill so i can reverse to park Its like got some play so when i brake it rocks back and makes the knock (mostly when im on an uphill so the car rolls back slightly) best i can explain some sort of bush must need replacing but im not too good on suspension issues so does anyone have any idea?

leave it in, just remove the globe from the dash as it will always be on and get a rear wheel alignment as it might have moved
