And i believe there should be a range of options available on this type of thing because, the offense was marginal and the penalty extreme. A grid penalty, a larger fine, loss of constructor points... Not what is currently in place.
-
That is where you are dead wrong. This is the FIA regulation for leaving the pit lane: 23.1 i) It is the responsibility of the competitor to release his car after a pit stop only when it is safe to do so. After reading this can anyone tell me why Ferrari were not penalised and not Massa? The competitor refers to the driver. Case closed. It was NOT the team but Massa who was responsible.
-
Alright, cool. 1.Would you have done the same thing as the stewards in Spa? 2. What do you think of the decision to give FM a fine for his pitlane antics when there were other "options" available - the stewards choosing the most lenient one? Or the decision to not give KR a meatball flag, allowing him to drive a potentially hazardous car around for 20 odd laps? 3. you say Crime A: Punishment A. Do you not think there should also be punishment B and C or just A by itself? And finally, the best one 4. If there was option A, B and C, would you still choose to hit him with A even though a more lenient B and C were available as options taking into account all you have seen? Thats for everyone by the way, not just Dezzo.

FFS! He gave the place back! I wish you would try and stop yourself from manipulating what i try and express. You take it whatever way you will. I dont think, and this is the last time ill say it, that LH "cheated" You do, thats fine. Others do too, but the crowd is massively split on the "crime" and the "punishment" What does that tell you if you bothered to stop and actually think about it for once. can you not look at the bigger picture here instead of squinting through your FIA magnifying glass for once??
-
Get it right for once, will you? Some may agree but they said and i will repeat myself for you for the 10th time " The punishment did not fit the crime." Far out man, youve got a hard head. So if that was NOT the right punishment according to the majority of the F1 paddock - including said current drivers, then what was according to the gospel of Dezz?
-
Yeah i dont really care so much if we dont agree. So you dont think the FIA have manipulating anything? The very least they could do is modify the rules to keep that thing we tune in to week after week consistent - the action - not the conspiracies. What point is there in strangling a guy for making a wicked move to take the lead? Are you not the same guy who was bitching in the past about there being no overtaking in F1 any more? You should run for PM, Dezz.
-
Besides, the camp is split anyway as to whether or not LH did commit anything. Subjectivity at its best. Then we have the precedent of what happened after... Horrible all round. Noone can agree on the crime plus the penalty was massively unfair.
-
Yeah and the best part is the stewards cant control the weather. LH and KR will be in their elements...FM will flounder if the forecast is correct. By the way, even if a fine was too "lenient", taking into account we agree LH deserved a penalty at all, a grid demotion for Monza would be the next option. That way we could all witness LH carving the field up in the wet. Noone doubts his wet weather ability.
-
Lol, a bit of an extreme analogy but i can see where youre coming from. Have we not already established the punishment did not fit the crime? Even the great majority of people in the paddock including the drivers agreed.
-
There are millions more people that will tune in to Monza because of all the bullshit that went on last weekend. My question to you Roy, is simple. What will the effect of millions more people tuning in be and who will it benefit?
-
Thats right. A fine. Why do i have to keep repeating myself with you? What about the precedent of the FIA fixing races as if it were a cheap two-bit WWF wrestling match? There were people who did not want LH to win. Rather, these people wanted FM, to be up on wins 5-4 against LH. 2 points behind. Infront of the tifosi. In a Ferrari At Monza! That suits the script much better. Youre a fool if you think that isnt happening.
-
Rain all weekend in Monza!!!
-
As much as I think LH wasnt in the wrong, for me thats not the ultimate point. Its clear now the paddock is heavily split - on LH's side i would wager and that speaks volumes. I cant remember the last time this has happened...well, perhaps for MS at Monaco but that was years ago. If all things were taken into consideration, the would be no loss of a win. Instead a fine would have been more appropriate in light of the fact KR dropped it and Massa was really never in serious contention. All this could have been avoided is the appropriate penalty was applied.

On a more serious note, the plot thickens... http://www.planetf1.com/story/0,18954,3213_4130171,00.html

I LOLed when i read all this. There is a sense of humour in F1 after all: Courtesy of PlanetF1 Stewards To Review Other Results Thursday 11th September 2008 Following their great success at re-arranging the result of the 2008 Belgian Grand Prix, the race stewards are now turning their attention to other sporting events that have finished. Outraged sports writers from the world's news media have slammed them for having no experience in judging football or athletics or swimming, but now the stewards have hit back. They have rightly pointed out that they have just as much knowledge of floor gymnastics and athletics as they have of F1 Notices of Re-Classification Olympic 100 metres The Olympic 100 metres final has been reviewed by the stewards and Usain Bolt has had 25 seconds added to his time. The stewards verdict was that Bolt... "didn't run across the line properly and started celebrating way too early". Tour de France Carlos Sastre has hung on to his position as winner of the Tour de France, but second-place man Cadel Evans from Australia has seen his second place wiped out. "Evans is just a back wheel sucker," said Belgian steward Yves Bacquelain, "he never does any of the work on a climb." As Bacquelain is the same nationality as the great Eddie Merckx his decision cannot be overturned. Swimming Michael Phelps has seen his Beijing medal haul cut from eight to seven after the stewards decided to hand the win of the 100m butterfly to Milo Cavic. Apparently second-placed man Cavic was almost there first and morally was the winner. Gymnastics - Beam Less controversial is the stewards' ruling that American gymnasts Natia Liukin and Shawn Johnson should swap positions in the Beam event at Beijing. Liukin drew huge praise for her artistic performance on the apparatus but lost out to a more complex, but artistically clunky routine from American rival Johnson. "We have decided that Nastia should get the gold because she is a much fitter than Shawn Johnson," said Nicolas Deschaux Champions League Final Chelsea are the new champions of Europe after winning the recalculated penalty shoot-out in Moscow. The stewards decided that Manchester United's narrow victory by 6-5 wasn't correct. They have allowed John Terry's missed penalty to count. "We feel that he would have scored if he hadn't lost his footing on a poorly prepared pitch, which was out of his control and so award him the penalty." Chelsea now win 5-4. ( Especially this one, lol ) F1 And finally, Jenson Button and Nick Heidfeld will both have 10-place grid deductions for the Italian Grand Prix after the Kenyan steward discovered they both had beards as scruffy as Sebastien Loeb's.

Yeah, well, hes an idiot who doesnt know what hes talking about, yeah? I mean what would he know?

Thats all well and good but i cant see it happened that way... Not according to MW anyway... Whitmarsh also repeated the claim of Ron Dennis, made immediately after the race, that Hamilton's move past Raikkonen was deemed legal and fair by race director Charlie Whiting. "From the pit wall, we then asked Race Control to confirm that they were comfortable that Lewis had allowed Kimi to repass, and they confirmed twice that they believed that the position had been given back in a manner that was 'okay'," Whitmarsh explained. "If Race Control had instead expressed any concern regarding Lewis's actions at that time, we would have instructed Lewis to allow Kimi to repass for a second time." One as yet-unanswered peculiarity in the brief press release issued by the stewards in which they announced their decision to punish Hamilton was the claim that they acted upon a 'report received by the race director' - namely, Whiting. Whiting himself has yet to comment on the matter but could prove to be a key witness if McLaren's appeal is heard - something that remains in doubt despite the team's registering their notice of appeal.

Thats not what i meant...
-
I was referring to Dezz but the thing is CW is the race director! I am sure without doubt it wouldnt have been handballed without his final approval. Its a weird one.
-
wtf? 5. Beer Baron SAU I agree with kimi, I was taking a sh1t when it happend. but the FIA should not interfere. The stewards decision is final. They are the law. Judge, jury and executioner. You are taking the piss, right?
-
How bout looking at the issue in question instead of going off in tangents? Let me say it yet again. Charlie Whiting told Ron Dennis that the pass was legitimate and it was okay. It has already been said by Wolve that CW passes the dispute to the stewards if he deems there has been a problem. CW said there was no problem so it should not have gone to the stewards, correct? Now, if CW had told RD that all was okay and LH continued on his mewwy way, how is it then Dezz, that LH was stripped of his win? You can do basic math, right? *edit* Either RD made that up or something has happened between that radio transmission to CW and CW talking to the stewards. I cant make out clearly whats going on behind the scenes here...

Ahahahah, thats a good one.
