I signed as well. I think the decision needs to be reversed. What i dont understand is that having told RD the pass was fine, CW set the precendent where Mac could just keep going with the comfort of knowing there wouldnt be any repercussions. RD said himself that if the pass was deemed unsatisfactory, then they would have asked LH to let KR through again. Mac were told the pass was legit and as far as they were concerned that was the end of the story... And now this...
-
If that is the case, why has CW told RD that everything was fine with the pass then "pass" it to the stewards?
-
Okay, kewl, i took the time to respond to you because i felt it was worth it. I dont consider time spent with people i respond to a waste if thats what youre wondering especially about this sport. I have given up my CAMS level 2 to get my JAF license - I couldnt have both...so... Its beside the point though isnt it? I saw the post, yes, and i have to question the fact you have waded in here without notice, without knowing me, without having competed on the same surface as me and taken a broadside at me with less than 200 posts to your name. Sorry mate, i dont understand your motives. Youre not passionate about the issue, therefore you cant be that serious about the sport?? Im not even coming from a pro Mac, pro LH standpoint. Im thinking of the good of the sport and that decision was atrocious and a detriment to everything i love about F1. Mac, hopefully will be reinstated but i cant help but feel it shouldnt have come to this in the first place. I

Thats a great question. I would still be angry because primarily, the decision is massively debatable and the reason for a world wide furor and in Cricket for example, as we all know, there exists the " benefit of the doubt". Not so in F1 apparently - at least when it comes to a silver car, in a sport that garners billions of dollars. In F1 unfortunately, there is no doubt. Only unrivalled certainty on the behalf of 3 clowns and millions of internet users sitting at home or in a theater room who have next to no motor racing experience. Surely that is questionable!

Ok. Youve got my attention, now. I saw your post and how qualified you are to comment and thats all fine. I have a great life here in Tokyo - thanks for your concern. My job affords me plenty of time to do other things i love doing and i still get paid really well...that includes watching F1 footage frame by frame if i feel like it. Again, if the FIA had NOT investigated this incident, would you be up in arms as passionately as is the case now? All these peeps saying he wasnt past him...blah blah blah... You know what? The race stewards REPORT to CW and he makes the final call - he isnt called the RACE DIRECTOR for nothing, you know. CW told Mac and RD on 2 occassions that is was OK - right after the incident. What more do you want? Make sure you get your facts straight before calling on your wealth of experience. If CW told me, you or the neighbours dog that the pass was OK i would bloody well leave it at that. CW will come into play heavily in the next couple of weeks you can rest assured and on the strength of his testimony, Mac should be cleared and reinstated. Simple.

Ive watched that video at least 30 times....frame by frame. I still dont get it. Its so marginal its not funny. We are armchair stewards and look at the debate that its sparked... imagine whats happening now within the F1 community itself! Heres my question and its a really serious one... Would you, or any one else be screaming blue murder if the FIA didnt even investigate the incident at all??? Would we really be discussing things at this length if things were left to stand as they were when the chequered flag dropped in Spa?? I dont think so. Still, Id love to read some of the responses.
-
Yeah you know...thats the exact same video i posted up 2 pages ago. I disagree with the penalty and the crime - to a certain extent - so we wouldnt be having this conversation if the board wasnt manipulated the way it was. Give him a fine, give him a slap on the wrist - not a slap in the face, a race win stripping, a slap to all F1 fans across the world... Enough.
-
Look Richard, i tell you what. Im gonna leave SAU and make it better for everyone concerned. Seems to me to be the best bloody thing i can do to make this situation better.
-
Spot on. Couldnt have said it better myself.
-
All right. This is getting personal. Richard, youre taking this too personally. If Roy didnt see the humour in my jest at the wine he drinks I apologize to him, i meant no harm - although something tells me he knew that. I never called Roy a part time muppet hack, but i think the guys in the stewards box on Sunday were just that. I dont really mind if you dont want to talk about this - i do, others do and we have a right to and that is what this thread and this forum is all about - discussion. I dont get it - just because i strongly disagree with people, i should shut up and leave the keyboard alone? Yeah, its funny. The guys in the stewards box are part time - they just rock up for the race and bam - the championship has been altered AFTER the race. That stinks and should never happen. By the way Hamilton did NOT f**k up and thats the way i see it. Just sayin...
-
Yeah that's the thing... its good a 3xWDC has waded into the argument on OUR behalf then isnt it?
-
Well, isn't that the biggest difference between a part time-know-nothing-muppet hack and 3 time world champion if ever I've seen one! ( lol @ the cheapness of Roy and his wine...sif not drink aussie wine mang. )
-
Thats the most frustrating part. Personally, I would if i could and i hope to God someone is doing something about it - funny that... - as you said this, Mac was going through with the appeal. Would you, Marco, prefer to see the standings remain as they are? If so, why?
-
Well.... Its official. Macs going through with the appeal and damned well they should if they feel they should.
-
Hamilton cut the chicane there is no doubt; however there is also no doubt that he lifted to allow Kimi back in front. The question that will be debated on this and other websites for days to come is whether he lifted enough.
-
pfft - sif sex is better than F1 anyway. and sif i was "goating" you, Roy. You still havent adressed the issue of JS opinion vs JT opinion... instead you have focussed on the word "nationaliteeeeee" ( I was joking about F1 being better than sex by the way,,.,,,....)
-
If you want to bring F1 drivers into then fine. I'm up for that and ill take JS over JT any day of the millennium. Last time i checked one had won a few championships and one had a race win under his belt...
-
See above Salad. You tell me whos more qualified to judge and dont get into nationalities please. Thats just pointless because if you are an F1 fan - a REAL F1 fan, you will respect SIR Jackie Stewart as much as the late Brockie, at the very least.
-
This was the EXACT argument i made to an F1 website and this is the EXACT person i nominated as the man to head it. Go Jackie! Youre one of the only h¥onest bastards left in the sport...although i dont think max will let you any where near the box for fear of you being fair and unbiased... http://www.planetf1.com/story/0,18954,3213_4120502,00.html Yeah okay, Jackie Stewart a multiple F1 champion during its most dangerous years, has stated what ive been saying all along. Okay guys. You can go with JT - a one time GP winner. Im going to stick with Jackie. Good luck.
-
Roy, JT offered nothing new or incisive! We all knew it anyway. We all saw it probably before he did, lol. We ALL knew exactly what was going on before he decided to flap his gums to the worlds press. What, exactly, was going on there i wonder??
-
Oh and JT isn not one of the 3 muppets who made the call to strip LH of the win. If i ever see him again, i would ask him, "Would you have done the same thing as the stewards in Spa?" "If there isn't enough room, then you lift." Well he did lift and the rest is history. This wall and gravel bullshit is ridiculous coming from a guy who had absolutely nothing to do with the incident at hand.
-
Jarno Trulli should have stayed out of this instead of getting involved in an incident he was in no way anywhere near to ( apart from what all of us and the rest of the world saw ), nor qualified to comment on instead of as another racer who knows as much about racecraft as the rest of us who do. All he has seen is what all of us also saw. It astounds me that he has spoken out in this way and no doubt many in the paddock will be equally as shocked. Motivation? Who knows. JT, there was no wall. There was no gravel. To argue that things might have been different if there were, is just conjecture and no different to the rest of the arguments raging around this issue. There was a corner LH thought he could take and it is clear he had the speed and grip to make the outside work but KR CLOSED the door. That is not the point here, is it? He has added nothing to this argument other than the fact he is also an F1 driver nowhere near the incident, lapped and down at the back of the field. JT, is just hypothesizing on an eventuality that never actually happened. Its all hot air and ...actually...i have no idea why he thought he should wade into this. Thats really strange.
-
You sound like Mosley when you say that, you know? The governing body is corrupt and biased...oh and headed by a slimy neo nazi leather clad gas chamber pussywhipped daddiesboy who likes to take more of "ze punishment" while his wifes at home making tea and crumpets. They made a ruling, the ruling was a pile of borderline shit, made by a bunch of "Know nothing of motorsport-whack job-muppet hacks", who willingly or unwillingly manipulated, yet again, the course of the WDC... Even you can admit that, Dezzo. COME ON! Admit it! LH rocked your jocks on Sundy. The biggest f**k up in all this bullshit was the FIA and the 3 stooges in the box. You know the funniest part? They all report to Charlie Whiting... And RD was on record saying CW said everyhting was A-OK. What the f**k is really going on here???
-
Roy, Mac was on the button as soon as the chicane was cut. You can actually hear, if you listen closely, the revs drop and LH gingerly squeezed second, then was looking right, saw KR coming, KR went past and then he floored it. It all happened so quickly it was over in a couple of seconds. Problem for the muppets in the stewards box, it happened even too quickly for them to make a rational, logical and reasonable decision without looking like a bunch of amateur hack wankers. Muppets.

Yeah...tis true. on both counts. I love Heath Ledger tho...and Lewie
