  4. which one wolve?
  5. Anyone got a link for quali? ITV have f**ked everyone again...
  6. That makes no sense no matter which way you look at it... Heikki should not be there next year.
  7. Wrong. I like to fool with myself. Get it right.
  8. Anytime. Pm if you need to.
  9. Lol, doctor, i think im hard enuf, tanks But ill cry if anything happened to teh Fonz... I had this nighmare ( seriously ) where i was driving around and people were yeling abuse and all sorts of other things and then i was followed to my home by some people and the next day the car was gone... and it was never recovered. Hey, doc, perhaps ill need more than a teaspoon of HTFU, lol.
  10. Reassuring cubes... but then i click on the multiple "stolen" threads and my heart sinks. I felt for the guy who had his Stag stolen and torched only days after getting it. Made me feel a little ill.
  11. Im a lecturer in a Uni here - part of the English department. Its true. The things ive seen and been a part of could go into a book. I highly recommend it - youll get a car that you can keep and export for much more than you paid for plus its a big part of the culture. On any given day youll see bikes and cars with massive turbos, neons, huge sound systems, paint, bodykits - the works and they almost never get hassled. Ive been to places where people meet in droves massive amounts of people with everything you could think of in one area...every weekend./ It aint a bunnings car park and even though the cops come to shoo you away sometimes at midnight, they never defect anyone and then we all go racing on the wangan after. Good times. It really is a car afficianado's paradise here. Check the Japan thread and have a good read if youre interested. Pm if you need to ofcourse.
  12. One more thing... The alcohol limit here is ZERO. with ZERO tolerance. Get caught with even a gram of weed, youre getting booted out. but...its culturally accepted and socially encouraged to get out there, mod the crap out of your car or bike and have a rollicking good thrash through the hills on a quiet moring at around 3 am... which is exactly what i did last night... Good times and stress free.
  13. All well put. Im not so sure its more "polite" as you put it but definitely a heck of a lot more tolerant. Theres no open hostility. My car and myself are safe here... Thing is i want to come back to do some business but if i do..i have to move back and that freaks me out a bit. Owning the only Sti Forester in SA surely cant be a good thing... I have nightmares about that thing getting torched or stolen, keyed... not good...im farking losing sleep over it.
  14. Oh, and NOONE hates on my ride. Not a single damned person.
  15. It seems as if you cant win. There are people that drive shitboxes who just hate Japanese cars for hatings sake. Then you get others that drive something similar but try to start a shitfight for nothing more than exactly that - shits and kicks. Seriously, is it worth coming back because ive read through this and its given me a glimpse back into what i ended up leaving over./. I simly couldnt stand these sorts of things. Theres racial tolerance to a certain extent and within ones own kind or group, but in oz but i dont think theres any equality or parity to it at all across the boards... ( I dont count giving each other shit as a point - thats when you KNOW them ) Im doing it again..but the thing is im dealing with the same type of context here in Tokyo. Man it can be cold here sometimes but i NEVER get threatened, hit, spat on, have NEVER experiences violence or seen violence or anything the likes of which i know exists in oz... It doesnt just have to do with cars... Sorry if this is pushing a wrong button somewhere or other but im not going to stand around idle...
  16. Thats it right there. Why the hell should there be consequences in the first place? Consequences for what>? Owning a Japanese car? I swear, Japan is not mainstream in Oz yet...left over bitterness from WW2? Im conjecturing but i have a ton of Japanese friends in Oz who would argue the same thing...my Wife is one of them
  17. Youre on Duraaaaagz. Gimme some.
  18. Ive never owned a ford or a holden. Probably never will. I dont know why, but ive always thought Euros and Japanese cars were simply better at everything. Well...maybe not everything but most things. Australia is 60 years behind in the Automotive development game in comparison to many Euro makers for example and you cant discount that when it comes to the quality of what is locally produced. Just take a look at the shitstorm that flew when were discussing the 427. Im avidly against anything remotely "supercar"ish being attached to it..but look what Wheels has gone and done... Im digressing.
  19. But they make Toyotas with a 5 litre engine...Nissan too. Its not as simple as that... Is it racism or imperialistic mentalities>? Sif anyone in Oz has a right to be feeling that way anyway. If its truly multicultural in this aspect, there wouldnt be a problem with japanese cars. I suppose multiculturalism doesnt extend to the car scene then does it?
  20. Ofcourse i remember the "pack of assholes" remark. lol, ive been around perhaps longer than you cubes. Seems it didnt get through even though he may well have been right. I also recall it was because the Gibson R32 was stopped on the track and yet still managed the win despite it. What holden or ford fan wouldnt have been pissed? I cant believe some of these workshops said that to you..and you were only..erm...surprised? Id be downright insulted.
  21. Funny that. That is the reasons why i did move out... I dont take offense to you saying that to Rhys as its something i actually did but i had my reasons and sadly, that was one of them. By the way, the other funny thing is both my grandparents are Cro as well...from Cacovek.
  22. Ive seen all types with the red mist - suits going at it, workmen and truckies, bogans, hooligans, surfies and the like, even oldies... All generalizations and i hate categorizing things but the point is the same... What is it about Japanese cars that many Aussies hate so much?
  23. Hope the can of worms i opened isnt that big... I cant stand the hektikness... I just dont understand some aussie attitudes...and thats coming from an Aussie. Maybe its Japan...i dunno.
  24. Dont worry about the local rezident Dezz... He likes to be that way.
  25. See, thats what im trying to say... Let' Let's not generalize here and please allow me to make a sweeping generalization... Road rage in oz is shocking. Period. Its very rare almost impossible to actually find road rage here in Tokyo and thats with the most jammed up road arteries in the world. meh...Jap crap eh... I love my Jap Subaru crap.
