Can you confirm that because the background in one of the shots doesnt look like either Japan or Australia. So if the car was recovered firstly there wouldve been some heavy discussion over it and secondly, it wouldnt be appearing in Thailand. How do you know the age of those photos? Is it just me or is there more to this?

*COUGH!* Torrent *COUGH*

The NSX has never been a flop - just ask Senna...well, when he was around that is...

Wicked! That is one angry mo fo of a rotor. lol, but it did sound like a liquefied fart at one point in the clip. Awesome machine - great attention to detail, completely impractical for comparo with the other cars being discussed.

My first car was an utter piece of shit manual Galant 1600 - Poo green with rust holes the size of fists around the petrol tank. I remember stealing it from my mums driveway before i was 16 and licensed and thrashing the shit out of it up Norton Summit road one night. Scared myself stupid but boy was it fun. I had the best times with that car. Going down the surf every weekend in it, pouring chemiweld in the head when it cracked...snapping the rear wheel off the axle when i lost it in the rain going around a really slow corner - tyres were bald at the time i think. It went pretty hard for a 1600 , much harder than a mates gemini, datto 1600 and corolla that we had in the surf group at the time, and the shitty old stereo it had used to crank hard, lol, good times. Impossible to compare that to what i have now but its always good to reminisce.

I think this is awesome. Nissan, Toyota and Honda are at it again. Here we have Nissan who have landed the first blow with the GTR, leaving Toyota and Honda scrambling for development and years behind at that. Im predicting a battle royale between the 3 companies again for Japanese supercar supremacy. The only winner in this, provided the money is there, is the consumer and all this in spite of the green movement. I remember when Toyota had the Supra, Nissan the R32/33/34 and Honda the NSX and these creations were always natural born enemies, yet how long I've waited for the next round to begin and to no surprise, here we are again many years later with the reality that they will go toe to toe over the same stretches of asphalt. Sure the marques had other labels but those other labels didnt invoke the brawl that we see developing here. I cant wait for it all to shake out as it did in the past - and to see if theres any movement between the brands because of it. The GTR has left them reeling but you can bet your bottom dollar and my right nut that Toyota with the LFA and Honda with what is supposedly the new NSX, will come out swinging in the no-holds-barred brawl thats about to begin shortly. Im hoping to bag some ring side seats for one... Anyone else as stoked about this as i am?
-
The LFA sounded like it was pulling more than 12 or 13k RPM...

That is definitely a DSG gearbox. No mistake about it.

Dude, number 5 was added by a mod, not me.

I see. There arent any other ways to cut costs somehow? Why are you using Amazon anyway? I actually think half a Terabyte each month isnt that bad but $1000 a month for the traffic?

Thanks for the reply Christian. Im not getting defensive simply because of the fact that what the discussion has turned into has nothing to do with what i originally implied. What has got me frustrated is that if there is any heat being shelled out over this issue, people will automatically think i was the one who instigated it because im the thread starter. Whoever changed the poll hasnt made it any easier. I will say one thing though and that is that by way of this thread, i suddenly felt the necessity to make a donation simply because of the fact that the website deserved it. $1000 you say? hmm, where are most of those costs coming from Christian, id really like to know.
-
You know, i started this thread with the idea to change the banner to include more cars - the R35 for example. I did not anticipate the arguments that would break out over it. Im washing my hands of this and i will ask again, seeing as my post was deleted and the poll was changed to include something i did not type in, 2 basic things. Firstly, how much does it actually cost to run a website? Surely not that much. Secondly, whoever the mod was that screwed with my poll, kindly change it back immediately. You as well as a few others may think its funny but its another example of how you manipulate the board to your own whims. And im not impressed with it.

Im a University lecturer by trade, right in the heart of Akiba. The stabbings took place literally on my doorstep. Many of the students are spooked by this activity and rightfully so, they dont want to be next. For it to happen to a cop, where cops in Tokyo carry loaded weapons, just adds to the feeling that, well, even if you are a cop and still get stabbed, what hope do you have as an ordinary citizen. Thats why im glad ive been training in muay thai for the last few months - i consider the weapons defense techniques as a bonus thrown into my training, lol.
-
lol, which mod is screwing with the poll... since when was option 5 in there?? *grumble* i wish I HAD mod powerz... *grumble*

Its unthinkable but someone else got stabbed here in Akihabara just 20 minutes ago. I went out for lunch with 2 co workers and we went for some curry, finished that, came back and 10 minutes after that, a student comes in and tells us a cop has been stabbed down the street. I go back out and find the place where it happened and it was right next door to where the 3 of us were eating!!! Holy mother or God... It turns out an otaku ( or Akiba geek ) was carrying a knife the size of the shorter version of a katana - a wakizashi - in his bag and some of us here know that these kids do that to protect themselves from muggings by thugs who roll the kids for their cash. So police are searching bags of the kids to see if theyre packing blades or worse. Turns out one cop ended up knowing how it feels as well. What i dont get is that after seeing the knife, the cop ASKS the guy to hand it over...which the guy did and then left it in him... Its screwed up...you never know if and by who your going to get stabbed around this place lately and whats even more screwed up, the idiot was carrying this weapon around only a couple of weeks after that major shitstorm stab session blew through the city.. I think ill start thinking about a different career path...

Thats a Saleen S7R GT. I knew it for sure at first glance but checked just to be sure. Much the same as this one really... The gills are always a dead giveaway. i love car spotting - its like bird spotting without the nerds... The S7R is wicked.
-
Wow, what a surprise, you got offended by a harmless remark. Show us the colour of your money indeed!

Dezz baited the hook well.
