  1. Heres what our CAMS rep was quote on when asked to speak on the sorry affair.. The importance of the vote was highlighted ahead of the meeting by Confederation of Australian Motor Sport chief Gary Connelly as he arrived in Paris. "This is a very important day for motorsport," he told reporters. "This isn't just about the future of one person; this is about the future of a whole organisation with more than 100 years of history."
  2. Roy, the point i was trying to make was that this "commodore" has the badge "holden" attached to it and for holden to stick a 170k price tag to it has me blunted and stumped 0 all because of what you claim is a renaissance of all things aussie tru blue. Sorry, it doesn't really cut it. Are Holden past the point where they have stopped making single OHC engines with Rockers and Rollers? Do you remember the Soarer came out with quad cam technology 14 years ago> So Holden are catching up now are they? Do they know what a DSG actually is? Im sure if they looked it up they would. Do they even have ONE semi auto sequential GB in their entire lineup? I could go on. My other point is that the technology that current other auto makers - such as the Japanese and Germans are employing - far outstrips and outclasses whatever technology Holden are employing - so much so its a farce that they have the audacity to lob the 427 in GTR or 911 price range. The GTR and the 911 are technological breakthroughs - the 427 is definitely not.
  3. Dude, its a 170k taxi. Do you see any GTR's or 911's being driven around as taxis? There is a very distinct divide between the "branding" and engineering - right well there should be. Not even in Japan, where i reside, does this happen. There is no public image or brand association tag that even has the cooking variety and the works version in the same league. Not in Oz where a commonwhore is a commondore is a commodore. There has never really been any differentiation if you think about it. Sure HSV tried to break the mould but the mocker stuck. Yes, HSV "Holdens" are not the cooking variety but that doesnt detract from their origins. The main point to all this is that a holden will still always be that...a Holden. It has very little brand value except for within Australia and its almost deplorable that Holden actually thinks the car is worth the pricetag of a modern day supercar. A holden as a supercar??? Yeah, like those two words match when it comes to street cars. Only on Sundays mate and only when good old Skayfie is drivin! Wheres the VB! It amazes me that holden is trying to pump up the local prices this far in regards to what aussies will be led to believe is a supercar. Its an insult actually. Holden is smart - or brazenly outrageous. They are preying on the public image and the strength of the aussie dollar and economy to turn over vehicles and then jack up prices based on perception, history, hype and media speculation. The public dont give a rats about anythiong else other than history. Anyone care to take a crack at why the original 427 never made it to production? Ill give you a hint - economy. Cripes, if Brockie were alive today and his signature was on this thing it would be worth more than 200k, LOL! The comment about the new 427 being on par with the GTR in any stretch of the imagination is exactly what was said it was - and that is farcical. I will be waiting to see the 427 get demolished by the GTR in every comparo an Oz mag can muster... Oh and if anything else happens other than a complete demolition, ill eat my jocks, socks and my wifes frocks because if this does happen - it will be saying that the 427 is better than the 911 turbo, Corvette and GTR on even terms and thats a complete load of horse shit if you ask me. .. oh! sorry! ...w...was i ranting? Please accept my most humble apologies...
  4. Its a f**king joke is what it is. Out of 103 votes he got 55... If this kunt can get away with this hes just given me my ticket to an all expenses paid vacation to forgivenessville. Spose i should thank my lucky stars...

  9. Yer... to take the spin OFF raikkonnens SUPREME f**k up.
  10. Adam you dumbass...you knew the Db and Cube would be popular in Oz...you stupid stupid man. Why oh why havent you gotten eligibility to import these things.. *Bashes head repeatedly against brick wall*
  11. Dont hold your breath - theyre busy whoring up whoretowns 700 + pages... Where do they find the time i wonder...
  12. Richard, read this... "Since its birth in 1904, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile, the FIA, has been dedicated to representing the interests of motoring organisations and motor car users throughout the world. It is also the governing body of motor sport worldwide. This combination of road and track gives the FIA a unique responsibility as an indenpendent word body concerned with a wide range of automotive, motoring and mobility issues. The FIA is a non-profit making association which brings together 222 national motoring organisations from 130 countries on five continents. Its member clubs represent over 100 million motorists and their families. This is a powerful mandate which the FIA is proud to defend. On issues such as safety, mobility, the environment and consumer law the FIA actively promotes the interests of motorists at the United Nations, within the European Union and other international bodies."
  13. The AAA is Australias peak motoring organization Richard. The AAA is there to support all road users - road wise. Cams is the motorsports arm but the AAA have called for Mosleys head. Edited because of stupid oversights.
  14. I think BB's comment calls for a little of teh Epic failage
  15. Now, here i was talking about talking ur mate out of an Mx-5 and here you are wanting to play teh bagpipes! Say it aint so Dan!
  16. portable bagpipes..? I got a portable bag pipe, lol. Youre not talkin bout teh one under his kilt i hope.
  17. lol, so hed be right at home then! Kilt plus MX-5 - perfect combo. Al you need now is to add some glenlivets...but id recommend a good haggis before he does that. Not sure if teh Mx-5 has enuf bootspace for teh bagpipes tho...
  18. MX-5 drivers arent gay - only the blokes that f**k em are.
  19. Even if you cut and paste, it still doesnt make any sense to me, lol.
  20. lol, mate, that got a laugh out of me. So what youre saying is that, if given the choice, you would take a well modded GTR over a lambo. Haha, ill take the Lambo and still rock up parked in teh handicapped zone - providing your grub is worth teh charges ofcourse..oh and i dont suffer from teh gheyness - ill even tip ya big stylz. You should change your words to " the guys that DRIVE lambos are ghey" but ive known a few people who had their head shoved firmly up their backsides and they had ferraris and porsches in the stable...
  21. lol, well tell him that before he makes his decision, its imperative that he does a back to back with teh clio. If the MX-5 comes out on top after all that then so be it.
  22. EEEWW!!! thats f**king GRROOOOOSS! surely thats not the stuff hes talking about.... * plerph* i think im gonna BARF!
  23. lol, i mentioned the clio didnt I? Its not what you would call a "blokes" car but then again, these days, what is>? Youre always going to be on the wrong side of someone. The MX-5 is one option but its a hairdressers car. Only drivers coming out of the closet admit to it being a performance package and it looks like theres a few on this forum. If youre going fuel efficient, forget turbos or blowers because the minute they hit boost they get thirsty. Superchargers are the same. So that rules out the AW-11 in my mind - teh imported one. I still say the Clio. Sure it may have been the name for my ex missus' dog but Renault built a cracker with that car - its well built, packs a solid punch, has some decent room inside, doesnt look too bad and is within the budget. Plus the fact that Wheels gave it BFYB top dog status. What more do you want really?
  24. Well.. D day is tomorrow. Im sure most of you hacks havent read the fine print or given a damn about the implications but this is a pretty serious thing. I want The "whip" to go as much as the next Journo - even "appliance white" Berns has had a gut-full but these things - decisions i mean on what happens to Mosley- can have distinct and serious ramifications for motoring clubs around the world. Which means us lucky pundits - me for the JAF and you guys for the AAA will have less clout when it comes to decisions being made for us citizens legally through the governments on behalf of the motoring clubs. Theyre not just there to offer you road side assistance you know... Concerning.
