Roy mate, you are right in that FA didnt comment on the teams difficulties supposedly upholding a privacy of information act between him and the team, but listen... He didnt even acknowledge or even flinch at the difficulties the team and HE have gone through. He spoke of only HIMSELF and the race HE won and how it was a fantastic day for HIM..selfish bastard. So you acknowledge you were the only one who had a truly happy weekend?? man it wreaks of self imposed ignorance. He never ONCE mentioned the TEAMS domination. Hes done at McLaren. Im sure RD will be happy to rid himself of the politics associated with a certain FA. RD has been along waaaaaaay longer than any FA you care to mention. No respect for your elders i say...

oh mate, you got it all wrong. seriously. look at your post and see the underlinings. You pointed out a misdemeanor but what about all the other things? On saturday the bloody cops in italy came to interrogate them!! you tell me what that was all about. Ban McLaren from the sport?! Youre off your bloody tree! Im not going to go on about speculative irregularities but McLaren and LH have bought a whole load more new fans into the sport and all this business is just riving them away. You imagine 2 years without Mac. I think ill switch to nascar or something. That is unacceptable and something the FIA knows too well. McLaren wont get excluded from the WDC. Expulsion for McLaren would be akin to a lethal injection for F1. You can guarantee that. Remember that Dennis and Mosley ARE NOT friends. Some are saying its a witch hunt instigated by the FIA on behalf of Mosley, requested by Ferrari. You dont need to be a genius to see the internal and external politicking Ferrari has waged within itself and on its rivals. I place a great deal of responsibilty of this bloody great big whopping mess squarely on its shoulders. Mate ive met Fernando. Sorry, i dont have the best image of him, but he did stop for a brief chat and signed my cap in suzuka last year. Ive only seen him as his usual arrogant self, schumacher-esque but this time hes gone over the top for not even showing the slightest concern for the beleaguered team he drives for who are breaking their balls to provide him with a WDC winning machine. selfish pig. enuf said.

and for the record, i really think McLaren is better off without Alonso. I couldnt believe the press conference. Hes a selfish, disrespectful and ignorant individual who doesnt deserve to be where he is, WDC winner or not. McLaren are MUCH better off having Paffet along side Hamilton. ( excerpt from planet f1 ) "Fernando Alonso Is Difficult To Like It has been, as you might already be aware, a difficult week for McLaren. Next week will be no easier. The team is being attacked on all sides - by the media, by the Italian police, by the FIA, and, if the rumours are to believed, by one of their own as well. Oh the irony of the Stepneygate crisis stemming from Ferrari decrying alleged espionage. A McLaren one-two on Ferrari's home turf was the ultimate riposte. When Ron Dennis was given a standing ovation by jubilant team personnel, the McLaren MD's icy façade crumbled into tears. Such solidarity was in stark contrast to the isolation of Fernando Alonso who was busy cutting himself adrift elsewhere. The Spaniard is a notoriously self-infatuated individual, recently arguing for preferential treatment on the basis that he alone was responsible for McLaren's gains this season. Such vanity is part ludicrous and part responsible for the unwavering strength-of-mind a champion must possess. Yet his self-centredness reached repugnant levels in Monza. Given licence in the post-race press conference to reflect on the "special" victory ("What does it mean to you personally to win here on Ferrari territory on what is an emotional weekend for McLaren? We saw your team principal Ron Dennis looking quite emotional on the podium"), Alonso remained utterly oblivious to the external significance of McLaren's triumph. "A perfect weekend for me," he announced unabashed, before prattling on at length about his previous difficulties at Monza without ever referring to his besieged team or acknowledging its contribution to the victory. "Sometimes everything seems to go in the right direction and you feel good," he continued. "All the wins are special but in the last two or three year there are some circuits where I won more than one time or won one time. And here is one I never won before so I wanted to achieve that, try to get at least one win in all the circuits." Unable to subjugate his individual ambition to the team's cause, Fernando has surely already burnt his bridges at McLaren. If not, he signed his transfer request on Sunday night thus: "The whole weekend has been good." In view of the damaging events that occured at the weekend, it is difficult to conceive of a more obnoxious and selfish statement being uttered this season. No wonder Ron was crying. " If you saw the press conference in its entirety, you would understand the way i feel about this pigheaded driver. And some of you guys are lampooning LH, when all i ever hear him say is how much he respects RD and the team.. those of you need to get a major grip. Alonso needs to go.

i couldnt have put it better myself.. what McLaren are going through makes me sick. (from planet F1 ) "Winners McLaren - 1st and 2nd Even the most hardened of atheists would have to admit that after the Monza GP result, there IS a god. McLaren have had everything slung at them over the last six weeks, culminating in some of the most vindictive behaviour ever seen in F1 toward one particular team and in particular team boss Ron Dennis. Starting as far back as the ridiculous decision by the stewards in Hungary to punish Alonso and McLaren for what was strictly an intra-team squabble between their two drivers, things have got out of hand. They have been fined $50,000 by the Italian GP stewards for not following the crash test procedure for their redesigned gearbox introduced in the sphincter of the universe. They have been summoned back to the FIA to explain e.mails their drivers may or may not have sent. Their drivers have been subjected to ultimatums threatening them with superlicense suspension if they don't grass up their own team. They continue to be attacked for spying by Jean Todt, a man whose team employed someone to transcribe McLaren's radio traffic and give the transcription to their own drivers during GP weekends in the past. They have been visited by the Italian police just before qualifying in what would seem like an attempt to disrupt their qualifying preparations - the team had been there since Thursday. It sucks. A friend who wanted to know what the Stepneygate spying row was "all about" was mildy surprised to find out that there was no actual spying involved. When he was told it was actually a disgruntled Ferrari employee trying to undermine his team by sending their secrets to a McLaren employee he used to work with, he was decidedly underwhelmed. No clandestine meetings, no long lenses, nothing John Le Carre at all. Spying involves actively going out and collecting information, not being the happy recipient of another team's poor man management. If McLaren actively solicited information from Nigel Stepney and tried to exploit his unhappiness at a lack of promotion by giving him money to pass on Ferrari Intellectual Property then yes, they should be kicked out of the World Championship. But we will have to wait till Thursday for all that evidence to be firmly established once and for all. At Monza on Sunday McLaren put all the politicking aside and won a glorious victory at Ferrari's home race. What's more, they stuffed them on performance and they stuffed them on reliability, something that was always the Woking team's downfall in the past. The only downside is that Ron doesn't have long to enjoy it."

you cannot just "rock up" and bid unfortunately. All auctions are closed to the public. Only dealers and their affiliates can go. please read the threads. There is plenty of information on places to go. You just need to do a little..ahem...sifting. good luck

That race was okay, not fantastic thats for sure. Very happy to see button up in the points and i loved LH's move up the outside of KR from way out. You guys can knock him all you want, for a guy at 22 to come in and blitz the field like this is super extraordinary. Im sure MS would be thoroughly impressed. And hes still 3 points ahead. Alonso though had him in spades, even if LH was fuelled longer there wouldve been no way to get past FA. FA's pace was awesome throughout the race. I thought it was really funny the tifosi going bunta over KR getting past LH with 12 to go without realising LH was on the option and KR was already on the worn out prime. There was NO way KR wouldve been able to hold him back. i cant wait for spa! That'll be the make or break race i reckon..look forward to it every year.

misinformation? thats really funny! hows about a little light reading to highlight my "misinformation"? so the SMG 2 ( which i voted for over the previous gen. gearbox the SMG 1 ) is a clunky piece of shit is it?? http://www.m3smg.com/ gee, i guess ferrari doesnt know what its on about either then do they? gear changes in the blink of an eye..thats slow eh? build quality? come off it. umm...why then has the m3 been at the top of all performance cars for years and years and years? i guess these accolades mean jack shit to you.. "BMW M3 a Winner All Round In 2003 the BMW E46 M3 was acclaimed as Australia’s Best Sportscar over $57,000 for the third year running. A team of state-based motoring association judges voted the M3 the best of the best in the annual Australia’s Best Cars award. The ABC awards judge all vehicles available in each category, not just new introductions. The E46 M3 has made a habit of winning, underlining the enduring driver appeal the high performance M3 offers, not only compared with its would-be rivals but across the entire market for high performance machines. The E46 M3 is no stranger to the winner’s circle, having also scooped the prestigious MOTOR Magazine Performance Car of the Year award in 2002. It was the first winner ever to secure a unanimous decision from the MOTOR PCOTY judging panel. The E46 M3 was the clear champion over some stiff competition that included two far more expensive Porsche finalists. The E46 M3 followed its predecessor to the PCOTY title, since the earlier generation E36 M3 won the award in 1997. The E46 M3’s glorious straight-six engine has also earned substantial international acclaim, voted International Engine of the Year for its capacity class every year since debut, by an international jury of experts from 17 countries." before you go attempting to shoot down one of the most revered sports cars in history, do your homework and take a reality check. please oh please tell me why a heavy sub framed, wrought ironed crapily built car could achieve such amazing accolades? While youre at it, also tell me where the golf has achieved anywhere close to the same. And youve never driven an M3 ave you?

dead on bud. i saw Bernie at suzuka, apparently the first time hes been there for 10 years in 2006, on the eve of suzuka being dropped from the calender and it dawned on me that it wasnt the last time the cars were going to be there. F1 without suzuka isnt a complete WDC. period. its funny how germany is also doing the same thing. Its a smart move from the countries involved and ofcourse shrewd from the bernster for finding the happy medium. shame we wont see the japanese track until 09....

sorry, couldnt help myself..

Mclaren 1-2 at Monza! its nice to see they just hit back when others dish it out..and how. noone can discount ferrari and even BMW look more threatening this race than they have done in a while.. Great to see Button make into Q3..thats some performance. Also good to see Vettel show Liuzzi a clean set of heels. On a final note i think we can kiss Fissi good bye..he was TROUNCED by Heikki in Quali and theres no doubt his days at Renault are numbered. I can guarantee Pique Jr. will be in that car next year to take it to his old F2 foe, LH.

Youre a bloody ledgend Steve! Thanks a heap for documenting that all for me. Im going to archive this thread and keep it for reference. I trust your information and i know you did it with the Evo 3. Thanks again. one question though.. You mentioned if they ask if im coming back wit the car i feign ignorance and tell em i am? Is that kosher? surely its more difficult than that...

This is for the Japanese residents among us. I will be purchasing a ride very soon and would like to ask what steps i need to take to obtain parking. I have heard and believe it must be done through the management of the parking facility and then through the police station in my area. Ive been told i need to do that BEFORE i can even purchase a car but i could be very wrong about that. Is this correct? My wife and I are planning on purchasing an '04 CLK 320. Great resale value in Oz and all that jazz. I dont really care what it costs... i just need to know what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Another question is to those that have exported a "Personal import". Id love to hear any stories about those of you who have done it and what your experiences were like. Stories like that would help me immensely! Specifically, what was entailed and how the process went... what troubles you had and anything related. Cheers. :sorcerer: :sorcerer:

Hasnt changed at all, has ken... sorry mate, got no time for you. Have a good 'un.

$400 on labour is a bit rich.. it should only take a couple of hours provided the parts are there... at $200 an hour i hope the pope himself is doing the greasy stuff... The clutch price is about right what you should pay BUT you can get a slightly used dual mass flywheel for around $100 AUD!!! How long i ask, was the clutch in for as in how many Km's and how hard and how often was it driven? The Flywheel should last the life of the car, in 6 speed configuration, provided the clutch plate is change at appropriate intervals.. Plus, I hope you realize that replacing a dual mass flywheel can add to gearbox noise.. Dont know where you got your work done but i can tell you it can be done for a lot less...sorry if that pinches...

heck, they really pack a lot into cars these days dont they! I looked at the R32 and thought, surely about 1000kg's..its that compact! Its not about speed anyway mate but what the car does in corners, in traffic, You may get laughed at by the doof doof and hoon brigades but who gives a toss?? You'll be going through bends knowing they dont have the first clue as to what driving is really all about. Anyone can floor a throttle but it takes insight and finesse to really reap the driving rewards. Nice catch. still...at 147 it sounds like you need a ,...ahem.."chip". Only thing is, is finding a balance between what VW over-engineered into the car and chassis particularly and exploiting it without overkill.. thats the challenge should you choose to accept it...

its hard to find good photos of this thing these days... Jordan 191

cripes!! You'll be back in hospital in no time after a stint in anger on that thing!! the only "Havoc" you need to think about in life right now is the trauma that machine will wreak on your hospital bed ridden body!!
