  1. All good things come to those who wait. Finally received my Bilstiens for my R33 GTST. It was worth the wait. They have completely tranformed the car. Even though I am only using the standard springs and sway bars my steering is now much lighter and body roll has been reduced considerably. Thanks Gary for your help. David
  2. moved to another thread
  3. Gary, Still waiting for these shocks to turn up. What is the latest please. Do you have a con note? David
  4. Jamex also delivered the wrong shocks to me the same as SKYKC. As instructed I sent them back, but Jamex refused to accept them. I guess its buyer beware. Having paid my money over 2 months ago I am not impressed with this group buy. I dont know the name of the person I am dealing with - except its 'Gary'. I have been asked to send money to a company Jamex that does not want to identify itself. I cant really complain as dealing in this manner is asking for trouble and thats what I have. I urge others to be very careful when dealing in this manner. I accept that others have had great success and given great feedback. David
  5. Gary, Whats the latest news on getting these Bilstein shocks delivered this week as planned. Your last post suggested by the end of this week. Cheers David
  6. Dairyboy, I know its only a long shot, but have you checked the height setting of each coilover. I remember reading an article in a zoom mag a while ago where they actually weighed each corner to get the correct height. I recall they were quite surprised by the differences in each corner. But it might be nothing to do with your problem.
  7. Make mine an old HR Holden and Triumph Herald. My son's got it pretty good. He is learning on my R33 GTS-T and Silvia. Frightens the hell out me every time we go driving (he is getting better though). Thank heavens mum comes to the rescue.
  8. OK what went wrong. I tried to attach a photo when I posted this thread but it did not work. How do you attach a photo (JPG file)?
  9. I know its probably obvious but I had the timing belt sticker translated. So if you have the one of those stickers (like in the attached photo) - it says "Please change the timing belt with every 100000kms".
  10. Well my problem has been solved. Thank heavens. To start the process of elimination I fitted a new 3" exhuast. There was some improvement. I then reset the computer, and the car was immediately transformed. Had it dynoed again yesterday and it compared favourably with another Skyline with similar mods (exhaust only). It is now getting around 130kw at the rear wheels. I can only assume that the cat was faulty or the muffler was too restrictive. Still does not compare in performance to the silvia though.
  11. I think my AFM is also faulty. Had it dynoed recently and they suggested it could be the exhaust. So after I had a 3" system fitted the flat spot is still there. Where can I get a new AFM (or reconditioned one).
  12. I finally got round to getting my Skyline on the dyno at Autotech. It confirmed that it was quite a bit down on power (around 20-30 KW compared to similar skylines). They said it probably was the exhaust, so I have had a complete 3" system from the turbo fitted. Failing that they said it could be the airflow meter or the camshaft advancing mechanism? I believe it is still down on power from what it should be, even after fitting the new exhaust. Where can you buy airflow meters for the GST25ts? Also waht is the camshaft advancing mechanism. I will get it back on the dyno asap to confirm that something is still crook. My skyline is only 60k kms old so I am a bit annoyed something like this is wronb with it, but thats cars for you. Any ideas appreciated.
  13. Weetbix is correct. I have just purchased an R33 GTS-t, and I also own a 2L turbo Silvia. The Silvia is much quicker than the Skyline. I must admit at being quite dissapointed at the Skyline's performance. Dont get me wrong, overall the R33 Skyline is a great car and it is the best Skyline I have owned to date. (I previously owned an R31 and it was the worst car I ever owned - not including the EH Holden I had in 1970. That includes the C210 which I had for 13 years. It was a really great car and the only reason I sold it was that it finally wore out. Having owned Datsuns/Nissans all my life, including 6 1600's, I was very disappointed with my R31. The best part of the R31 is the engine, the rest of the car just does not measure up.) Anyway I suspect my new R33 may need a tune-up, or perhaps something else could be wrong. It goes very strong in 1st and second but thats where it seems to slow up when compared to the Silvia. Maybe I am fussy but I did expect the R33 to go better than the Silvia. Perhaps I need to go for some the hot bits I see on the Forum. Anyway cheers to all the other Skyline owners. This is a really great site.
