  1. Hi there, I'm looking at purchasing a Haltech Platinum Pro plugin ECU for my R33 gtr and i'd like to obtain clarification whether the ECU will support the factory AFM's or totally rely on the MAP sensors. I vaguely recall reading that it can support both but i'd like to find out for certain. In this respect, does the ECU operate or perform better under a particular setup e.g performance/economy wise? I realise this may trigger a wide debate but it would be good to obtain people's experiences and setups relating to this ECU. Thanks, Adrian
  2. Thanks for your input Trent, i envisage taking a similar approach.
  3. In all honesty, i am finding it difficult to fathom how or if they could be bothered to reference checking all part numbers to the original nissan OEM listings. I believe the tuning game is really beaten into the ground by authorities, however i believe all this to be the worst case scenario. It would be difficult to imagine they take the same hardline approach to everyone out there.
  4. Hmm, in the process of upgrading my gtr and am also concerned about defects. If i were to go down the nistune path, that would allow for the AFM upgrade i believe. I take it this is the only way to keep things 'stealthy' these days.... sigh.
  5. i was under the impression that the 2860-9 was the gtss equivalent. Can somebody distinguish between the two; 2859 and the 2860's ?
  6. Good to meet and see you guys at unigroup on sat, Jeremy and Sloane. It sure was a great event, nice r32's. Adrian
  7. ADVAN split dump pipe up for sale again due to no response from buyer!!!
  8. Apexi AFC - SOLD!
  9. All PM's replied to.
  10. Sure mate, Try flicking me an email here: [email protected] Adrian
  11. Hi, Im sure postage can be arranged. Cheers
  12. ADVAN Dump pipe - SOLD!
  13. Hi mate, Yeah it has slightly, between 11 and 12 psi is what hi boost was tuned to. I had a dual control boost controller so most of my daily driving was on the standard setting. From what i gather on these forums about 15 psi is the limit you would want to push out of this stanard turbo for a cetain amount of time. With that said, ive inspected the shaft/blades and can state that they are solid. If there are any further questions im happy to answer them. Adrian
  14. Yes mate it sure can, it feeds to the Air Flow Meter signal wires. Ive seen these also setup on honda vtec's, toyota supras and the like.
  15. Cant say for certain mate. However i am pretty sure if its based on the r33 engine it might not fit. cheers
  16. Hey mate, Was in excellent working order when it came off my car. It only came off as i upgraded my turbo. It pretty much gets you to the maximum u can see out of the standard turbo, a real terror on the streets adrian
  17. Thanks for your interest, The Apexi is fairly simple in the way it works and part of the reason why i went with it was my car was an auto. Its a pretty simple device as it alters the voltage from the air flow meter allowing the tuner to correct the air fuel ratios's when you increase the boost pressure. I had it done professionally to make sure it was right and dyno tuned to suit my car. The box includes everything needed for the install; the unit and instructions. From memory i think it cost me ~$300 for install and dyno tune which is pretty cheap considering the gain i got throughout the rev band and the slight increase in fuel economy. Mate, honestly the dump pipe is a work of art if you see it in person and there is absolutely no fault with it, its stainless and it would last a very very long time. I cant really do much with its price as it hurts selling it for this low. Also, i am able to post at buyers expense. If you have any more questions, even in general things ill try my best to answer them. I remeber being in your shoes 4 years ago Adrian
  18. Prices are negotiable people I also have a few bits and pieces like the elbow for the turbo and various lines that came off with it. Cheers
  19. Hello everyone, Due to my latest turbo upgrade ive decided to place these parts up for sale and finally clear some valuable garage space for the holidays. All items are in Sydney, pickup is preferrable but can arrange freight if required. The first item for sale is the standard R34 Turbo (OP6 rear housing, see pictures), which is in excellent condition with no shaft play and intact turbine fins. Removed at approx 70,xxxkm's. This would be an ideal upgrade for the RB20 series engines or those seeking the most potent highflow for the R33's. Price: $400 neg Apexi AFC NEO (colour) I can strongly reccommend this piggy back unit to anyone seeking to extract the most from their standard turbo under a responsible budget. Most noticable after the tune was a dramatic increase in fuel economy and power output of 205.5rwkw @ 11.5psi. Note, this was on my R34 auto which does sap a tad more power than the manuals. Price: $340 neg Advan Performance Split Stainless 3inch dump/front pipe to cat. I bought this item from Advan Performance for $370 1.5 years ago and it truely is a work of art. It is very similar to the BOSS split dumps as it has the long seperate wastegate runner to reduce rear turbulence and compliment any highflow exhaust. Price: $200 neg R34 Rb25 Neo Air Flow Meter Price: $40 Due to work commitments i might be limited to responding to your PM's in the evenings, so if you require any further information or best pricing, plase send me a PM and i will do my best to handle your enquiry. Thanks for viewing, Adrian
  20. Funny you say that, the first night i plumbed it up i went for a few runs and i had the engine light come on. That was plumbed to the vac line from plenum to boost sensor?(R34) I have since pulled it out and no real issues since. Im assuming by taping that vac line it would be getting a lower reading than actual. Hence why id like to find out what others have done. Someone a while ago said the FPR is not a good idea.... Cheers
  21. Well id hesitate to tap it off the FPR as mechanical gauges intrudce latency issues. Ideally it should have a short genuine line from the plenum keeping it responsive to intake variations. The best place to throw a mech gauge i believe is to a vac line that doesnt have critical components feeding from it. I too have that exact gauge, have fed the vac line through but have been lazy in conecting it. So where have the others connected it to?
  22. i think it depends on the tune. Its been an abusive 2months lol, so far so good touch wood...
  23. hmm i think it might be handy to upgrade my 12psi spring to 1bar seeing as the high setting runs at like 16psi. Might gain a few hundred rpms. That is a big improvement Paddy, but then again the 7psi spring would hardly hold....
