  1. guys i think youve mistaken penrite mineral oils.... theyre pretty average i know... but check out thier SIN (synthetic) oils, rated very highly in recent testing. Have a read of street commodores mag no. 108, they have tested the 18 top oils on the market through various tests. Out of them Royal Purple and Penrite SIN oils performed the best... funny to see the Mobil 1, Motul, Redline, and Castrol Performance synthetic oils performing so bad... So just before you guys bag the penrite have a read its very interesting
  2. Hey guys, Ive heard alot about these Penrite SIN oils, theyre meant to perform very well and im thinking of trying it next oil change.. Anyone running these oils? What would be be recommended for a r34 gtt around 60 thoukms' ... they have 15W-40 and 0w-50 in the brand? thnx

Hahaa i got an apexi in the 34... and mann it sounds and feels great I think the best way to fix this heat soak prob is to box it up and have the stock feed still there going into the box... but i wish there was another way of getting another intake pipe to come from under the pod but there aint much space is there? any ideas? pics?

  6. Yea it does stay just above the 0.5 mark all the way to the red line.. the ecu has been reset aswell since the install
  7. Yeh its kinda wierd, the boost does sit lower on the guage now, it was done by an import garage and it was an apexi made for the car.. Im just wondering without the POD being boxed up it might be sucking in much hotter air, could that lead to a drop in boost pressure?

Hey people, just installed a Apexi power intake POD on my R34 GTT (stock) and it seems that on the factory boost gauage, it has a significantly lower maxium boost reading (previously read like 0.75, closer to 1+ but now it reads 0.5 on the boost guage). Strange the car is much louder and i dont think i can tell any difference in power loss, not sure. Could it be that the POD is sucking in hot air and loosing boost that way? its not boxed up yet but will be. What else you guys think it could be?
  9. Ohhh i have the same problem now! but my r34 is an auto and is stock. . after i put the apexi power intake it drove fine for a while but started dying exactly how u said!! Its getting looked at now and weve tried new afm... yet to check the cooler piping but does anyone else know what it could be?

  11. Awesome! im pretty convinced that batmbl has one of the best front setups from what i hear, and throw a nice jap cat back she will fly.. I hope he starts another group buy soon, i missed the last! Any Ideas, on where to buy a nice jap cat back? say 600~700$ would be good if i could find a HKS silent or Trust PE2 around that price.
  12. Ok people, Im deciding to either go with the trust pe2 or the hks silent hi power cat back systems. What can you guys recommend for a non droney, nice sounding, value for money system? which one would you choose?

  14. thanks for the replies guys, hmm those prices sound pretty good compared to what i got quoted at bel garage, for the cat back hks silent hi power i got quoted $1K included fitting. The Reason why i wanted that system is because he said it has some built in silencer that doesnt make it sound too droney and mine being an auto i wouldnt want it to be that constatnt loud humm. shudnt be too bad if i can find a good turbo back system @ $1K that makes good power and isnt too loud, just so i can still hear the turbo hehe any ideas? What do most of you guys run? Stan you guys can fitt them at your place too? cheers.
  15. Im interested Upgrading my stock exhaust system, i have a stock r34 gtt auto coupe. I was wondering if i bought the front/dump + the high flow cat and leaving the stock cat back be, power wise compared to just doing the cat back. id just like to know wat power gains id be looking at if i do this combo system or whether going with the cat back is better bang for buck. I was maybe thinking of keeping the std muffler look on it if the front pipe/dump/split + cat make more of a difference than the alone cat back. I know the cat back will give me more sound but i only am looking for that slightly deeper sound when she goes. im probably not into doing the whole system from the turbo back so id like to know which setup will be more gains verses costs. Any info or ideas will be great! thanks
