  1. Rank Rotory have done alot of the tuning...AEM (Wolf makers) had a go at it, but frankly i think there was more potetial there im getting the boost upped (some other work) and more tune at Rank on monday, i do recommend them but iv also heard good things about ICE i belive ICE do your tuning? i like to stick to one place, purely cos Pete at Rank knows my car well now and dont want to change for the time being
  2. doing this for a mate his got a turbo off an RB25DET and needs the oil feed adaptor that sits on the turbo itself, anyone got a spare one sitting around? or can u direct him to someone that may help? iv given him a couple of numbers of workshops to call, but havent heard from his as yet any help? thanx...
  3. i sent this email last night and got a respons back just now, this may be alittle informative for some Dear HPI, Firstly, top magazine! Quality publication, keep up the excellent work! I own a 1998 Series2 R33 GTSt, with a 3” turbo back exhaust, large front mount intercooler and a Wolf3D version4 engine management. Its tuned at a safe 10 pound of boost and have booked it in for more boost and some extra tuning. Iv been hearing a lot of “he said, she said” about the turbo in the series2’s Facts id like clearing up: 1.What turbo does the spec2 RB35DET have? (some say T3, others say T28) 2.Is it true that the spec2 turbo as a nylon impeller? I want to dial up boost to 12 pound with the stock turbo for the time being. Would this be safe for the impellers integrity? Iv only ‘heard’ that it shouldn’t pass 10pound, but no one can provide me with evidence or fact (experience) to prove it James “sick of shit talkers” Geros Bens Response: As far as I know, Nissan didn't use a nylon impeller until the R34 GT-t, but it doesn't matter anyway, as the ceramic turbine wheel is the problem and all GTS Skylines are the same here. 12psi may be okay, but there are no guarantees. We have seen turbos let go at this boost. Others seem to last okay at 14psi. As for the T2/T28 question, the answer is neither, as it is not a Garrett turbo. It's made by Hitachi. The exhaust manifold flange is a T3 shape, but the turbo size is closer to a T28. Ben Ellis
  4. iv got the Wolf3D version4 Plug in and Play for the R33 GTSt couldnt be more happier, paid $1600 including hand controller..thats also including some extra tuning from base map has a heap of features many which pFC dont support unfortunantly, im in melbourne...feel free to PM me any questions
  5. inark: dingley way? where exactly...cos i live in dingley or have we discussed this before?
  6. hey ya'll as most skylines owners know, the 33 has a bit of a stalling problem most would say theres a vacuum line problem, some would say your afm for suuuree now iv draw the conclusion that i have a throttle sensor problem after installing my new version 4 Wolf3d (plug in and play) iv noticed that the throttle position display is saying eratic things like it claims it open at 30% when in fact i dont have my foot any where near the throttle from logic, i suspect that the computer thinks that the throttle is open therefor supplying more fuel resulting in a stall when infact the throttle isnt open at all would this make any sense? the guys that installed the unit tell me that its most definantly the problem has anyone replaced their sensors before? how much? nb. rb25det have two TPS's one for large increments and one for finer points
  7. may i ask...the link further up with the r32 dorying it about (nice work) but by any chance was that footage taken at Woodlands Industrial Estate?? looks bloody familier but it looks as thoug it was a looooonnng time ago PM me if u dont want it publicily known
  8. brendan.. here is the ad that a mate of mine gave me which he found on the silvia.com forum... now the cooler kits for the Skylines are alot more than what he says here (the GTR sized cooler kit is around $1800)...but i managed to talk him down heaps! (he told me not to say how much) give him a call....his a top bloke, hell hook you up with the cooler guy cos Nige only does the piping
  9. hey, two weeks ago couple of mates and myself installed a cooler on my R33 GTSt Spec2 this is a kit thats made up here in australia thats basically the same as the HKS piping, with an imported cooler core from the US (600mm x 300mm x 76mm) anyway the kit fitted perfectly and was pretty straight forward...i started at 4pm, mates came at 6pm and we finished it off at 1am there was a period of piss farting around...as it always does when mates come around we did heaps of cutting on the front bar with a jigsaw, nothing too special, we just sized it up and cut. Trial and error style...and ofcourse the hole that had to be cut underneath the waterbottle (baah 10mins) for the return pipe also we had to angle grin some of the metal front bar support thing inbetween the headlights (on the inside). not much grinding, its just that this sucker was huge and i wanted it to fit perfectly now we arent professionals, but good with hands and the tools we had, the good thing though which always helps is that we had all the tools needed for the job it DOES make life easy here are a couple of pics... http://mccr.madcars.org/dynodaypics/dragon...es/DSC00376.JPG http://mccr.madcars.org/dynodaypics/dragon...'s%20cooler.JPG http://mccr.madcars.org/dynodaypics/cyrus/...es/DSCF0866.jpg
  10. hehe, fair enough...
  11. funkymonkey...where in dingley? /me lives in dingley
  12. this should help dude...dont worry, this is the first i knew about it too http://www.powerlink.co.nz/~graeme/faq/22.html
  13. 1) i would like to know this cos im in the same situation 2) the quoted power (from manufacturer) would be the peak power your car does at the flywheel, manufacturers dont quote power figuers at the wheel, so yours is fine due to power train loss. Whether u have a manual or auto, dyno runs shouldnt really matter cos when u put your foot down, it change gears once its peaked its rev range. Wouldnt have made a difference
  14. dude, are you going to get back to my PMs that iv sent you?!
  15. its music to my ears when ever i hear that "pphhoompp" driving hard
