He said up to an hour of piss farting around on the dyno...including tuning *shrugs* Ill be getting the call to go around there before the baby is started and ill be there while its on the dyno So well see...
-
haha i was met with that exact same look when i asked the same question... mine should be due early next week and from what iv been told, by the time the car has been tuned up itll be ready to go without any "running in" he (Ian at Amberly) said running in is an old term, when it comes to purpose built engines, all clearence and measure are done pretty much exact who knows...but id belive what the builder says, especially if theres repuation to back his claims on engine building, not something someone wrote in a magazine

Have u tried Unique Car Insurance (03) 9898 9400 Iv currently got a banging premium with em... But, when it comes down to it, its if theyll PAY OUT and repair the damages that really matters ...and speaking to a couple of panel beaters, iv HEARD good things about Unique

theres one thing being able to afford to BUY an R33 GTR its another thing to be able to maintain the car, ongoing costs, servicing, insurance if your counting your pennies to just scrape through and buy a GTR, maybe you should be considering a different car for the time being
-
just remeber theyre used as taxis in japan... theyre just another car, nothing more nothing less

buy a gapping tool from any hardware store/autostore tap the ground electrode (the hook thing) with the back of the gapping tool till u reach your desired gap (using the gapping took obviously) what gap are they at now are u sure u need to gap them, popping DURING gear changes doesnt suggest u need to regap em, popping WHILE revving out a gear on positive boost pressure suggests there a posibility u need to gap them

ill praise their work iv had a dent repaired and various other bits fixed dont expect it to be cheap and dont expect it to be done fast but you will get a good job done

FS: version4 Wolf3D ECU Plug/Play
whistla replied to whistla's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
sorry, i realised i didnt mention it was a plug in play for an R33 GTSt sorry about that it uses your existing wiring loom, simply unplug your factory computer and plug the Wolf in, yes it includes hand controller as mentioned -
Nah thats cool The car was running fine untill the last session... I just wasnt full throttling on the straights during the start of the day as i was still getting the feel of the whole thing and letting people pass me. i didnt want to be pushed into the corners and prefer to tail people than be tailed My confidenced gain near the end and really cant wait to get back on the track...
-
lol yeah something like that...untill your wallet starts getting red raw cos you blew your engine
-
Im looking more towards an RB30 conversion Laur Once the head comes off, ill asses were im at and decide whether to rebuild the 25 or go 30 It all comes down to $$$

Ah yes...that R33 was me It was my first time on a track let alone Sandown all together, so no need to judge or speculate on my times I didnt really attend this track day to go all out and cut some times or break records, more so just want to enjoy a bit of a fang on a track So i was pretty suprised that i actually got a 1:39 on that day, as at no stage was i REALLY pushing the cars nor my own limits Near the end of the day i realised there were a couple of corners i could have carried alot more speed in but by this time had a couple of problems 1. my inner wheel plastic arches decided to rip off, so i pulled off the track after the practice lap to take them off 2. on the last session, people reported seeing burnt oil out the back of the car, and i was loosing boost pressure Anyway, its not good...cylinder 2 is down to 70psi compression Taking the head off this week to fear the wrost itll be good to see MORE people with R33 gtsts on a track, instead of being street heros come on guys! its VERY addictive and cant wait to get the engine prepped up for more

Short story about my car on the weekend
whistla replied to ecenshu's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Intercooler pipes popping off at high boost and pushin hard always jolted me into thinking i blew something Once on the freeway on the way home one latenight, it had been a long while since pushing my car abit, so in 3rd i gave it a tramping when seconds later *PHOOOMP* the pipe from the front mount exit to the second section that leads into the engine bay had popped off, then dragged on the ground, snarled on something and ripped it off...went over the pipe with my front and rear wheel i squashed it gewd abit of a pain looking for a pipe on a cold midnight evening on a freeway :S lucky i dont have an AFM -
i had this happen to me about 4 or so weeks ago came back to my car from the gym only to find a nice big old dent on the side of the car no note no witnesses $2000 later and i got it repaired Thank you very much
