  1. Any ideas guys? Cheers
  2. Hi SAU team, Out of the blue last night my turbo would refuse to boost past 0.08bar (as stated on my Apexi AVCR b/c). Im used to boost levels of up to and around 0.90 - 1.00 bar of boost. This occurred on every setting on the boost controller. There was no smoke coming out the back which is leading me to believe (i hope) that its a faulty boost controller not turbo. Has anyone experienced this issue? any ideas out there? is there a way to reset my controller? Thanks CK
  3. This makes sense as only IGN and ECC (line 1 & 2 i see) is turned on and all remaining lines off. Any thoughts on what this could mean? What is the importance of lines 3-16 ??
  4. ok just ran down to check the settings on th PFC.... Sensor Check Screen: I found that only IGN and ECC was on (filled black circle) Everything else was off (empty circle) Function Select Screen (as below) Boost Control, air flow warning, injector warning - OFF Knock Warning & O2H F/B Control - ON I dont get it, if O2H in the sensor check was off, why is the O2H F/B Control showing on in Function Select Screen. How do i actually switch the O2H sensor on in the Sensor check screen - this should likely fix the fuel consumption problem right?
  5. From what i can see, i must check the 02H setter and make sure it is switched on right? and can i change this from my PFC hand controller if it is turned off? Cheers
  6. thanks for the responses guys. How do i check if "closed loop" is switched on? is this checked on the PFC hand controller? AFRS? BTW i spoke with my tuner breifly this morning and his advice was to continue driving the car for another week and monitor the fuel consumption as it could be a fluke. (sounds to me he couldnt care less TBH)
  7. Morning all, 2 weeks ago i had my gearbox / clutch replaced and had the guys re-tune the car too as it had been over 3 years since my last tune, with another tuner. The new dyno sheet showed the car at 193rwkw, which concerned me as my last dyno tune back in 2007 had me around the 220rwkw mark. When i questioned the new tuner, he put the difference down to the fact others "tweak" their dyno settings to give off false readings. i had heard of people doing this in the past but surely 30 rwkw is quite a large "tweak" in settings. Isnt it? I gave my new tuner the benefit of the doubt. However, the car feels much slower as turbo response times are now very laggy. At times it feels as if i am driving a NA car as i cant feel the punch of the turbo i once used to feel. The boost just doesnt put me back in my seat like it used to. The tuner did carry on that the new tune is a "safe tune" but in all honestly the car felt quicker before i even had the Power FC installed. Now on top of the above, the fuel economy has become very poor. Coming from a minimum of 350km a tank prior to this new tune, my first tank out of the workshop came to 190kms. Keep in mind the driving has been kept rather sensible as i am still wearing in my new clutch. Am i right in assuming the tune is attributing to the poor fuel economy i am experiencing? Makes me wonder why this is happening as the car is noticably slower too. Do you guys have any suggestions before i go back to these guys and complain? These guys are very well known in the industry and have a good name so i find it tough to go back to them and complain about their work results. Current mods are : 3.5" turbo back exhaust FMIC K&N Air Filter Apexi boost controller (high setting at 12 psi) Walbro Fuel Pump Power FC Spitfire Coil Pack Appreciate any advice guys, as i am at rock bottom at the moment as i have just spent over $3k to have my car eating more fuel and driving much slower. Thanks Con
  8. cheers, would going for the cushion button kit increase performance compared to the standard HD? My last dyno came in at 230 RWKW or so. what is this cheaper way ??
  9. Hi guys, Its time to change my first clutch on the R34.... i am in uncharted territory as i have minimal knowledge on clutches. I have come down to two options, The Exedy HD and the Exedy HD Cushion Button Kit. I see from the descriptions on the Exedy website that the Button kit is more suited for moderately tuned vehicles. At the moment i am running Power FC, Apexi boost controller running approx 14psi, FMIC, 3.5" turbo back exhaust and Bosch fuel pump. Stock turbo. I am not really planning any radical future mods but i would like to know which of the above two clutches are more suitable for me based on the posters here who have driven both perhaps.... keep in mind i dont take the car to the track but i do love to blow off some steam on the quiet streets from time to time. Would appreciate any advice you guys can offer. Cheers CK
  10. Hi Guys sorry if this seems like a stupid question but i didnt know who else to ask... My car is booked in to replace my clutch next week and my mechanic has warned if my R34 GTT contains a dual mass flywheel, i would be up for big bucks to machine / replace the flywheel to suit the new clutch. Not sure if i repeated this part right but i am rather clueless when it comes to this stuff. Basically my clutch has started slipping and i have been asked by my mechanic (who i trust) that it needs replacing. My mechanics only concern is if my car has a dual mass flywheel - which he is not aware if it does or not.... can anyone please be of assistance to confirm? Thanks CK
  11. Thanks Guys, i have found the FAQ's that apply to me but im still confused as to what the issue is and now my tuner is avoiding me by the looks of it....
  12. Hey all, My power fc keeps on resetting itself, losing all memory settings set with the tune. I am constantly having to drive back to my tuner out in Blacktown to get my settings restored with his laptop. Its happened about 5 times now over the span of 3 months since i had the PFC installed on my '98 R34 GTT. My tuner seemed to have narrowed the issue down to a faulty relay in my boot that had been clicking constantly on one occation. He didnt actually replace the relay though. Does that sound right that my POwer FC could be resetting itself due to a faulty relay? The AVCR boost controller seems to hold its settings/memory when the ECU resets. Im getting fed up with having to drive for 2 hours just to get my settings rebooted every couple of weeks and Im sure my tuner is getting sick of me too. He is asking if i want a refund on the ECU but I would rather have this issue fixed once and for all. ANY HELP WOULD BE GOLD. Im hoping it is the relay rather than it being a faulty ECU. My tuner has also said that in 15 years in the biz he has never seen this happen before..... Thanks Con
  13. Hello everyone I was hoping someone can tell me possible reasons why my gear stick keeps popping out of 3rd gear? Only happens with 3rd gear. Pops straight into neutral Its more frequent when revs are low. The car is a 98 R34 GTT Any advise would be gold. Thank you Con
  14. Hi All I drive an R34 GTT - i think its time i have the car lowered as at the moment the car is siting as high as a truck. I am looking around at my springs, shocks, etc options. Pedders Sports Ryder kit seem to be the most appealing, i know they're expensive but Kmac seem to be a little more on the cheaper / lower quality side. Basically I am simply after a low comfortable ride for the street. Is the Pedders option a little to extreme? Thanks people. im new to the suspension forums. Con
