  1. my opinion of the R32 is: R32 with RB25DET > * you got the style, looks and power out of a small comfortable car. even the RB20 with stock internals, decent turbo, cams, injectors and computer will set you up nicely. on the other hand, my opinion of the R33: that is all.
  2. thanks for the replies guys, i'll check them out and see who's more cost effective.
  3. why do you always sell off your good stuff abu? haha. mint rims, look even better in real. if the cash was flowing at the moment they'd be mine! good luck with the sale bud.
  4. ...and we still see people using M-Spec!
  5. hey guys, is there any places in northern suburbs melbourne (or surrounding areas) that do paintless dent removal? cheers, dave.
  6. * anything with FF drivetrain - there's no fun or performance. * commodores - especially the P platers who drive around on king super lows, auto, with their Fusion special 15" sub cranking, tachos hanging everywhere, thinking their car will run you off the road. * non-turbo imports - simply because i'm a forced induction enthusiast. * VL turbos - such a shame a good engine went into a holden * and most of all... people who mock up skylines or rice them out. sell it and buy yourself a lancer! my2c

    Xr6 Turbo

if you can get around the boost protection, boost it up a lil. or go all the way and get a flash tune for it. garret 3540, decent exhaust, fmic, and bosch 040 fuel pump from standard.. so they have some decent potential. check out www.fordxr6turbo.com as it's dedicated to the xr6t.
  8. spot on. i was working on the car a couple weeks back and i saw the wire unplugged, so i plugged it in and now it beeps when i leave the lights on. never knew of it! incorrect. my demisters have always worked, with or without the beeping.
  9. i'll get back to you on that one buddy.
  10. it is a bit much, as you can get an RB25 T28 for that price. good luck with the sale
  11. havn't really heard of something like that happening, unless the previous owner hardly maintained it. you can usually tell if the engine is on it's way out by irregular noises or bad driving symptoms. if you're paranoid, get a reputable mechanic or friend who has knowledge in turbo cars to check out the car with you. insist on doing a compression test and even maybe a leakdown test. and make sure to remember, there is no such thing as an 'unthrashed' jap import. they've all done their hard yards, but they love it. hope that helps, dave.
  12. haha. all i'm worried about is the fuel vapour.. being near the very hot turbos and dump pipe.. do you think it would cause a safety issue? edit: i've looped the fuel line with a T piece and blocked the inlet on the carbon canister, so it should be safer now.
  13. i've gone with 100% plumback, and now the car is running fine
  14. thread revived! i've mounted mine on the passenger strut tower, near the turbos/ABS. it's sitting flush with the strut tower, so it's higher than it originally was. would this cause a problem?
  15. my cat is gutted, and she spits out small blue flames if i give it acceleration and quickly let go, or if i stretch out a gear and then change slowly.
  16. a 2535 on 14PSI has more flow than a standard turbo on 14PSI and will be coming close to maxing out your injectors. make sure you install the GTR injectors before the tune.
  17. hey guys, i've just installed a catch can on my RB20DET, and did it the wrong way the first time. the car was pouring out smoke which smelt like burnt oil, so i read up on this topic and followed SydneyKid's 50% plumback diagram: i have a couple symptoms though: the smoke pouring out the exhaust has stopped, but it still seems to have a very slight smell of burnt oil? i'm thinking maybe it's burning off the last bits from the previous installation? i also noticed a strange ticking type sound which seems to be coming from the plenum area. the noise stops if i squeeze the hose coming from the plenum enough to stop the flow of air. i've got a drift oil catch can, with 2 top hose fittings, and 1 lower. i've used the lower one for the plenum, the top ones for the rocker cover (with the original "u" shaped one intact), and the return line for the intake pipe has been blocked. does anyone have an idea? Sydneykid where are you?! thanks, dave.
  18. catch can found, list updated.
  19. R33 LCA found, list updated.
  20. argh! you suck abu. i've been looking for one of these
  21. payment went through april 29th, and came in the mail today. just finished installing it, now waiting for the rain to clear so i can fine tune it. very happy with the result of earlier boost, with boost beginning on the stock turbo at 1,800rpm! will re-post with the results of boost spike and max boost rpm. thanks for this product mark, will advise it to my friends. cheers, dave
