  1. my friend wont know for a little while, but dont give up hope yet. thats not a no, just needs a bit of time is all, sorry
  2. morning isaac
  3. i think he quoted me 45k just in labour and parts to build a bullet roadster. they basically get rid of everything except the main chassis itself.
  4. i know what its like to drive AWD (i know the gtr is different) i own a subaru and i owned a very tail happy GTi-R. let me rephrase it sorry. i want a car that i have to put a lot of skill and practise into to get to the same level as a gtr. if i bought a gtr people merely assume that its the car that is good and not the driver. i want a car that will help me develop my driving skills and technique to a much greater level. the familia gtr and the gtir arent really good options now after having seen two friends blow up their gearboxes and diffs recently. so that narrows it down a bit. i have also heard that the early evo boxes are very weak, similar to early WRX boxes? daveo that was exactly the response i was looking to get from someone. the sr20 idea was the DET not an n/a one, what would be the point in that? wtih the roof, i will be installing rollover bars in the event of anything happening. in regards to the bullet cars. well, i wouldnt go as far as they did but its the whole drivleine setup that i was referring to with them. i would obviously do the minor chassis changes with the engine upgrade as well. the bullet roadster i am referring to is actually the one they built with A 20BTT in it. it was a while ago now but it was road legal. i spoke to them about it and they said as long as you do it all by the books and can keep it under the emmissions level there shouldnt be too many issues. its not too hard to intall, just the mounts and lining it all up really. with your idea of keeping the stock motor, a mate of mine actually had a similar idea. the mx-5 came out with the b6 engine in it. now he suggested i put a b6t or bpd engine out of the familia's into it. the b6t is the same engine just turbocharged out of the familia gtx's (stronger internals though) and the BPD is the 1.8 turbo out of the gtr familia's. since the stock motor and both familia engines are fairly similar the change over shouldnt be too hard and neither should the compliancing. i will have 16k to play with, up front when i do this (my last car was stolen) so there wont be a need to save up for anything really.
  5. i'm off, have fun working till 6am ian play nice now kids and dont fight over the 20000th post spot, you all know marc will get it cya
  6. you can be so cruel sometimes ian keep it up
  7. yes i am, because it has been done before. bullet racing used to build them and sell them as a brand new car which met all the ADR specifications. they built them with 20b's, 13B's and v8's. i'm going to go into their office and see waht i need to do to meet everything, but i think the main concern is emmissions with the rotary. i know 34's are not 16k, but like i said i could squeeze a little if necessary. its just thoughts for now, but didnt want to exclude it. on gtr's, well i'm not too fussed on them is why i left the 33 out. i want something that i actually have to think about when i drive, and not let the car do the thinking for me. just the way i wanna go i guess the purpose of this car is basically to improve my skills.
  8. bye bye karen
  9. i changed it from that to avoid sounding like lee. i dont want people getting the idea that i want to ride lee
  10. the fatness is great in this one. i never thought i would look forward to riding something fat
  11. wait, sorry troy, i just saw it then. yeah the kit is from GARAGE VARY in japan. incase some of you havent seen it this is what it looks like:
  12. you never asked me that question the body kit - GARAGE VARY, engine mounts - Bullet racing, suspension - TEIN. didnt know which one you meant since you didnt really ask me?
  13. from what bullet told me there isnt a lot needed other than the mounts and driveline (i could be mistaken) sounds good, but i have to restrain myself from looking for one just yet, not till insurance pay me. they could take months for all i know i want the car now, but i cant yet
  14. its going to be a hill climb car. s13 are too heavy for what i want. mx-5 is lighter and same price range edit: troy, the coilovers i want for it are 3k for the set. tarmac rally spec ones from tein, have to be brought over from japan
  15. so your forcing your dreams onto me you sound like a bad father. "you'll do it because i say so!" the thing with the 20btt is that it has 224kw and 401nm of torque stock! also bear in mind that its making that torque from 2500rpm upto 5500rpm i believe. no sr could match that. now change the turbo's up the boost to around 15psi each and your going to have a very very quick car with almost no work involved at all! meanwhile the little sr20 is still trying to make the same power with the same mods.
  16. ...................soooo marc, wher do you live *pulls out piece of paper and writes marc in the no. 3 spot on teh death list* any who.. troy, your not giving up on the sr20 powered mx-5 are you?
  17. um front cut for 20btt is about 3-4k that i've found. all good condition and stuff, work fine. bullet racing have the mounts already i believe and a gearbox to fit as well (i think the cosmos were FF)
  18. damn hmmmmm, ok that solves one of your problems though.
  19. meh, like i'd care. i think she already suspects something along the lines of what i've been saying anyway. first of all, none of you know where my work is, nor what i look like except for isaac as he has seen my tiida video's and what she looks like. you havent planned very well guys? i look at deporting her to another office sometime soon if i can. trade her for someone i wont do. also lee, get tein adjustables with an EDFC so you an adjust them in the car while driving
  20. it will cost almost the same as putting the rotor in. so its just a matter of power to weight. gotta have a look at it and then decide.
  21. i havent ordered the parts yet but i have found the ones i want if i do go ahead with it. hmmm. well i think i'll stay away from the supra then nah, supra is a bit too heavy really for what i want
  22. this is my only answer for you
  23. sorry guys, but i sent her to another office already i didnt waste anytime with traffic the way it will be soon, she wont get back till almost 5 ish and i'll be gone then also, why would i care about the seals in the arctic! i know it sounds cruel and all, but thats not my problem. if you want to stop that then go round and kill everyone who hunts them. pffft......blame me for seals dying will you!
  24. needs to be road registered yeah, thanks. i like the pics you found there. although not as nice as the widebody i'm ordering still very tough
  25. we just had an entire car full of absolutely hot girls pull up outside my office!!!!
