  1. I agree with ash on this. If you are looking at an OS its not just the purchase price and your away. Its $3k purchase price + shipping + customs duty (if you cop it) + New Nissan Series 3 R33 GTR Syncros + Building / labour cost, easily 5k. I have looked into the exact same boxes and found the OS to be an excellent comprimise for the money. I say compromise because, at the end of the day, it wont allow you lightening quick gear shifts like a dog box, but will still retain the smooth shift of the standard box and hold a HEAP more power/torque than a standard one. A dogbox is noisy (but i love the sound), can be difficult to change gears (up or down) and wears out quicker than it probably should (well in the trust case anyway, i cant say that for every dogbox available) If you are wanting a track box, and are a bit price sensitive, you cant go past the OS. HOWEVER....you have to remember that you are buying a japanese gearbox. This means replacement parts MAY be harder to get, or take longer to ship. If you are buying an Australian made product, there should be sufficient replacement parts / support within a decent time frame and price......should be

  16. Oil control can be a problem, but you havnt specified very much about the build. Is it a standard part rebuild? How much power are you after? What is the engine being built for? Will it see track/drag/drift or street? Either way a good start is here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=110680

The GF just informed me that she saw a Bayside Blue 34 on the back of a truck yesterday and the entire cabin was torched. Couldnt make out if engine was as well. Sounds like a stolen & recovered type deal. Hope it wasnt anyone here. Brings a tear to my eye it does
  21. There is such a thing as enough power. You have enough power when you plant your foot in 4th gear and all 4 tyres light up.
  22. *looks at watch & tapps foot* where is ash?
  23. Well im glad you read that you can do that and didnt actually do it. Becasue if you were aiming for that sort of power on stock injectors, your engine would be running so lean its not funny, or the injector would have failed due to stress on the component (stayed open continually injecting fuel) causing it to bend a rod. The trouble with what is written above is that your dont want to deliver the same volume of fuel. It is correct in saying the the spray pattern of a standard injector at the higher pressure is superior to a large injector at lower pressure, but that assumes it is within the capabilities of that smaller injector. In this case it is not within the capabilities of that injector. You want to deliver more fuel than standard (or what is currently being delivered) to safely attain the desired power and A/F Ratio.
