  1. There are other 3ltr engines other than the OS. You can use a VL 3 ltr RB, with the 26 head, BUT this sits higher in the engine bay, and an adapter plate needs to be engineered for the sump. I wouldnt say its a cheaper option than a rebuild and re-bore of the RB26 block. It also depends on what you want from your car. I have heard the HKS 2.8 ltr kit is nice as well
  2. im 95% in. Have to make a few minor 'mods'....like a new turb
  3. I am interested in the process of fittment. Is it an engine out job? With the trust kit, do you keep your sump and weld on the extention?
  4. do you mean a harmonic balancer? If so I believe ATI make them http://www.atiperformanceproducts.com/prod...oducts/dampers/ Cheers Ross
  5. does anyone know how much load a water pump & fan put on an engine?
  6. I believe that a few people here have been defected for not having the shift pattern on the knob. I dont know about having the sticker near it though. Also, as many people know, what a cop defects you for and what the RWC guys say are totally different.
  7. I guess what i want to know if they are reliable in a high HP situation, where there may be alot of heat generated during the track sessions, and what sort of load effect does the water pump / fan have on an engine. Cheers
  8. hell yeah im going....and somehow i winded up on a backpackers bus. Going to de-bortoli (hopefully not for long) then yering and another place (maybe furgessons) Either way its going to be awsome!!
  9. Hi Guys, Im trying to reduce the load and increase the cooling on my RB26 as much as possible. I have already fitted oversize pullies to it, taken the air con off, and am thinking about converting the cooling system to an electric water pump by davies craig, and twin thermo fans. I already have a Aluminium radiator. The car will mainly be used for street & track work, but i plan to drag it as well. Has anyone here fitted an electric water pump to their car or have thermo fans? What was your experiences, likes, dislikes etc. Cheers Ross
  10. was a great event fellas. I think the twilight theme could really take off. My apologies for two reasons, one I had to leave early, and the other that I could not comete as i am waiting on work to be done to bring it up to racing spec. But you can definely put me down for all the events after PI. I dont think its a good track to start racing on, however having said that there is more dirt traps than concrete barriers I guess I will take a wait and see approach. Also I must apologise to ash. On friday I was giving him crap about not receiving my Lanard and SAU Vic sticker, and guess what pops into my mail box this morning!!!!! NICE WORK GUYS, now i have to get a sticker for ash Rosco
  11. Make no mistake about it, this car IS GOD. Or at least what he would drive
  12. Karl is an absolute Champ. Both He, Nigel and Gerald have helped me out on many an occasion. Combined, their knowledge of cars, engines ect, is pretty impressive. The MoTec that is used is an M800. Leewah is correct. The car came with an F-Con V Pro from Japan, which was replaced by the MoTec.
  13. Nige is also running an Autronic in his Supra. That make over 500 Rwkw
  14. Its all down hill from here mate Happy Birthday!
  15. I only deal in KISH!! Put me down for 7
  16. Guys that price is an absolute bargain...for two reasons If you gou and buy a stock, clean, low km 34 and then spend the money bringing it up to those specs, you would probably spend more than that anyway. Second it will be an INSTANT CLASSIC, like the Nur specs.
  17. yeah, but in over 2 years of driving the girlie car, i have never been pulled over or never copped a speeding fine/defect. So people laughing at me doesnt bother me too much. If i ever get my other car on the road, i will be luckly ro last 2 minutes though
  18. Oh yeah, well im gunna get a Mugen Sticker and put it on my Echo!!! Thats another thing i hate, 25 year old males driving girls cars.....like Echos and those SMART cars......dont start me on them (the older ones, not the turbo ones)
  19. Well down here in Melb the best guy to build an RB30DET is Ben from Racepace Motorsport. He has one in his 33 GTR. It is an absolute weapon that is tracked, driven and thrashed on many occassions. Has built many others and if i was doing one, i wouldnt hesitate to go to him because i know it will be quality.
  20. what do you get for your 8k? full kit? (forged crank, rods, pistons, rings ect) What size are they 86.5. 87, 88? Generally tomei are a good brand, but it depends on whats in the package.
  21. SWEET!! I guess thats one thing i cant be defected for
  22. I think Holly make them. A guy i met with an R33 gtst just bought one. Was a big motha.
  23. I also agree. Do it once, do it right. Just cut back on other expenses, girlfriend/wife, rent, food, water/electricity or just wait and save
  24. Power FC is the way to go. Trust me when you have "200-250kw" for a while, you will want more....then a little bit more...then just squeeze some low mounts in there......and so on, and so on. Stock ecu may cope. Power FC all the way. Do it once, do it right.
  25. I think thats the place Nigel from ICE Performance got his Supra Done (Front Cover of HPI Vol. 46) and also won best paint at auto salon in Melb (April 04, not semi finals in Sept). If it is the same place...QUALITY!!!!
