  1. well we entered the Red bull billy cart comp (as the pirate ship) but didnt win. Not to matter the day was great with so many hot red bull chicks Got a little toasty in all the pirate gear, but generally had fun. After the day the pirate ship was transported back to its place of origin. There was beer consumed and subsequently the idea was hatched to gve it a couple more runs around the block. This was probably a bad idea, due to the fact not too long after this decision, it was rolled and crashed into a pole. It is now sitting at the bottom of some guys pool. And then i was driving home and I found a SLAB of CORONA's for $50!!! needless to say the rest of the evening was a write off
  2. Not really enouth info concerning your current set up (stock internals/mods etc), type of car, power aim, how much MONEY you have budgeted (in any case take a figure you think will cover it and double it).
  3. cheers guys, well like any good contraption it is held together with Cable Ties and contact. But not any contact mind you, immatation woodgrain contact, to give it that authentic feel. At last count there were 25 cable ties holding the "ship" together Man i love cable ties. Anyhoo it is a lot stronger than it looks as all the underneath is mig(tig? never get which one it is) welded together. We have had some good testing sessions with interesting results. No one has been seriously injured...yet Yes it only has to survive ONE run Ross
  4. Hi Guys and Girls, Well as some of you may or may not know i am entered in the Red Bull Billy Cart Comp that is happening THIS Sunday in Lansdowne Street in Carlton. All are welcome. Below is a link of our billy cart and the construction process and also a link to the red bull official site. I will be one of the surly (read drunk) pirates http://www.newhollandtshirtco.com/redbull (our site) http://www.redbullbillycartgp.com.au (red bull site) Hope to see you guys there. Come up and say Hi Cheers... er... i mean AAAARRRRRRRRRAAAAGGGGHHH!! Rosco
  5. Dude its not as if a Motec 'falls out of tune', so i dont know why a motec would be out, apart from the cost. ever seen an AFM fail and lean out an engine? not nice. Bang for your buck would without question be the Power FC.
  6. Motec is fine if you dont want to run over 10,000 RPM (Which is the majority of us) Dave has had great success with autronic. Power FC is fine if you like AFM's. (although there is a version that allows you to remove them, i think its the D-Jetro version?). Personally I would never run a piggy back or SAFC. Not that their bad, they serve their purpose, I would just rather spend my money only once on management. These are ther only options I personally would opt for. Of course it also depends on your mods/power level.
  7. I was thinking of doing exactly that. But will have to see. Oil cooler needs to go in, need to fine tune, boost needs to be wound down, blow off valves need to be delivered, oversize pullies need to go on, timing belt needs to be put on, cusco brake master cylinder stopper needs to go on, 4wd system needs attention, i need a helmet and a fire extinguisher, oh and i need to learn how to drive it I think thats all. So will be a tough call by the date I guess we will see how fast the ICE guys work
  8. Sounds like a good day. Will ask nige if he is up for it as well
  9. hehehehe Man that was a nice car.
  10. some moron driving around in a stock silver echo, pretending he has a GTR. MAN That pisses me off, oh yeah and hot chix in a car that wear a short skirt on a hot day so when you are on a bus or in a 4wd, you take a look down and.......... MAN THAT PISSES ME OFF

  13. I saw it yesterday (Saturday 13/11/04) on station st box hill parked near the BP. I have a very soft spot for the AE86, as it was my very first car. It looked so PHAT!!! Respect. im all for buying a car already modded Let some other fool spend all the money
  14. Isnt everone an expert? There is NO WAY i would trust the advise given by some 'Experts'. see certain threads. I also agree that it would put too much pressure on the guy.
  15. Thats a myth. Of course they are: http://www.nengun.com/product_info.php?pro...e0ee4523c921156 or (scroll down to Apexi Power FC) http://www.greenline.jp/catalogue/bcpartli...=R32B&intake=FI ELEVENTY BILLION TIMES BETTER THAN A microsux, a wolf, any piggyback or chip.
  16. why not just get a Power FC? Saves alot of hassles. I admit its abit more expensive, but once you have made the purchase, you can basically do unlimited mods without having to re-chipp every time and hope for the best. My .2c
  17. Betta Electrical In Greensborough. I got the following for about 1700 CAAASSSSHHHHHH (in 2002) Sunbeam Kettle Big Westinghouse Fridge (Cant remember exact litre size) Westinghouse Beer Fridge (HAVE TO HAVE ONE OF THESE!!!!) LG 5.5kg washing machine LG 1100w Microwave Now before you go there (or the place you intend to buy) take a couple of pieces of paper and go to a few places to get their "best" price. For the exact same equipment, i first got quoted $3,000 then went to another place who said they could do it for 2500, then another place said 2000, and finally walked into Better Electrical in Greensborough. The lady there I think her name was 'robin' didnt ask if she could help me, she saw i was serious, then asked me to go to her table and tell her exactly what i wanted. The rest is history ..............oh and tell them to throw in FREE DELIVERY !!!
  18. yeah, you're probably right, just an idea.
  19. can any importer/complier under the new scheme automatically comply 15+ year cars?
  20. I have never met him (or her ) but have total respect for what he has to say. Im sure a lot of people share the same view. I am not talking about a crappy sticky, but an actual section. He doesnt try to sell you anything, doesnt try to push his business, doesnt get into personal politics (except where called for ) and only gives you advice that he backs up with proof and or experience. So instead of him coming to us, why cant we go to him....or would he cripple under the pressure. Im sure ALL of SAU can benefit from his advice. Cheers
  21. Dean from upi? is on here as vspecv, pm him, or call upi. Another that may do it is cross over car conversions.
  22. i got my renewal today and yes, it even says it for echo's
  23. 55 in a 50 55 in a 50 (Same day, on the return trip) But that was a while ago....when i had my 32. Since then, my only offence is driving an Echo HOWEVER.... all this will no doubt change once my GTR is on the road
  24. and your dogs...albiet a little smelly after the rain if you left them out
  25. when i was in japan i stayed at business hotels. these are small, comfortable and very well maintained rooms for japanese business men. Stayed mainly at Toyoko Inn (or something like that). they have free internet, and alcoholic vending machines in the lobby 24hrs and are very reasonably priced. My advice is to get a japanese rail pass. they are worth more than your passport (well nearly ) and allow you to travel basically anywhere in japan by rail. (including the bullet train).
