  2. WTF............
  3. Nice work Dave. You know you get something out of it.....just not money How that fire bug thing goin I KNOW IT WAS YOU
  4. That explains it then. Everything is cheaper stolen. Man, Leewah your price is awsome. Any one running massive boost, you should think about lowering your compression with this
  5. Finally some people that know what their talking about. Recepie for 11sec. 2x Air Filters 2x HKS 2530 Turbos 6x 550+cc injectors Apexi Power Fc z32 AFM Cam Gears Twin Plate Clutch (dont stuff around with a single button) Intercooler FULL Exhaust (Dumps-Tip) A new bosch motorsport in tank fuel pump Good tyres Up graded Brake Pads (Going faster means you have to stop faster too) Competent Tuner with accurate dyno Maybe Suspension if there is money left over What you Dont need: Different cams. Not worth getting step 1 size because money could be better spent else where and Step 2+ need to modify the head, again spend money else where Head Gasket, providing you follow the Competent tuner advice and keep boost levels about 1.5bar which is right at about the efficiency of the HKS 2530's Bigger turbos Forged Engine Internals Forged Gear Set Providing you dont mind going second hand parts you could probably get away with spending $10-13k including tuning and labour.
  6. First of all, that car makes serious power, so what did you expect it to cost $5? What bad things did they say about a GTR? Second the stock GTR gearbox is a sensational piece of automotive equipment. You try to put 3 times the manufactures power through a WRX gear box and see how long it lasts. Same goes for a clutch, but you can source strong ones at sensational prices. BUT what times do you want to run? Speed costs money, how fast do you want to go?
  7. All of them
  8. Well its been in the Forced Induction Forum for a while, but no one really knows what the requirements for engineering mods are, where to get them done and how much it all costs. Anyone knows who I can go to (in Victoria) to get my mods certified? Or is this all a myth and are mods basicall outlawed? Last thing I want is for a cop to look under the bonnet and go, "DEFECTED" I want to be able to stick the canary up his big fat ass. Ross
  9. Well with a GTR you first have to decide what target you want. Do you want 11's, or do you want 10's There is a HUGE difference and cost between the two. Also a GTS-T is NOT a GTR, so dont compare the two....anybody. its like saying "my mate bought a torana and did it up for a full cost of $50,000 and it ran 9's", and you spend 50k on a GTR and you get a clean stockish GTR. If you want a clean GTR, a friend is selling his 33. Pm Leewah, or SIRVROOM.
  10. Well I was there thursday and it wasnt, but alot changes in 2 days down there. Sooo many cars. I even think G's project is on hold till he clears the backlog. and Niges Supra WOW!!! I went in it before he bent the rod, damn quick than, but now? 10.9 is FARKN quick for a RWD car
  11. Yes we all know your car is there too
  12. ICE all the way. G and Nige are great guys. They have done heaps of conversions, massive turbo's, tuning, everything. Call Gerald on 0414-359-888 or 9512-7591 Very competitive pricing
  13. That is why you can buy a radiator for the water cooler. PWR sell them as a complete kit or as an option. I believe it is very beneficial for applications when the water doesnt have time to heat up i.e drag racing. However, for track and daily driving, I would still go air to air cooler. Any one agree/disagree?
  14. Well since there has been no reply........... I am asking anyone who HAS had experience with these gearboxes in decent power GTR's and thier thoughts on the Trust boxes. Good or bad. Ross
  15. Everything is possible, but at the end of the day why would you? It would make the car so nose heavy that the only good thing it would be useful for is drag racing (i.e. Going straight) By the time you dump a whole bunch of money into the project, It would have been cheaper either to buy a GTR, or modify the krap outta the SR. But at the end of the day its you car and your money. Speed costs money, how fast do you want to go?
  16. Then you better tell Munro, Ben @ racepace (Melb), and Garage Active (in Japan running 9's R33 GTR HPI issue #26 page #24) that their cars arnt that good because they all had a go with the Trust gear box and all stripped teeth. What I said is that they cant handle any DECENT power, and this is only relating to GTR's NOT Gts-t's. to quote HPI issue #26 page #24: "Keeping the Trust gearbox in one piece is a different matter. The trust six-speed, while durable in LOW POWER applications, simply cant cut it when placed in a 9 second drag car. It commonly strips gear faces, breaks shafts and generally falls to bits. Countering this is the great collection of spares that Fonz has in place - we counted six Trust transmissions. He reckons its easier to keep rebuilding them, rather than switch to an "exotic brand" like a Hollinger." Dog box or not, the trust really is for low power applications, and having a dog box is not the latest or greatest application either. I never stated that I have driven a car with a trust dog box, nor am I an authority on the matter, but I dont believe driving a GTS-T once with one qualifies as an expert either. Please Megalla correct me again if im wrong, but can you name any other guys in japan running 9's and tens with trust boxes that run them reliably and without multiple and common failures, because I would love to know. Look forward to hearing from you. Ross
  17. Taken from www.exvitermini.com Thats how to do it. As for gearbox Fark off that trust piece of Krap, and go for an OS Giken product (5spd gearset). Its cheaper and wont cause you anywhere near the trouble of the trust which is weak, cant handle any decent power and poorly made. I have seen these time and time again sheer teeth. Boost response would be even better if you used the JUN 2.7 stroker kit

    Import News

yes there is going to be a mass importation of cars on the 1st of Jan 2004. This is because of the 15 year compliance rule, where you do not need a plate for a car over 15 yrs old. This is also due to the R32 GTS, GTs-T & GTR being first produced in 1989. Also other cars like the s13 Silvia started production in 1989 as well. Therefore alot of smart buyers (here and in japan) are stocking up on 89 model R32's & Silvias to flood the market here. Over there nice clean GTR's are going for $16,000 - $22,000 (depending on mods, Kms ect.) Which when you think dont need compliancing, are a bargain.

    Bloody Hicas!

I had the same problem, so i opened the power steering fluid, made sure the filter on the stick was clean/not impeeded, swirled the fluid with the stick, and gave it a top up. No light anymore. give it a try. Would not have anything to do with boost.
  20. Well being an expert on EPA testing, they have a little triangle type stand that is made of metal tube and they rest the microphone on a little holder that is attatched to the stand 1m away. The tip of this structure is placed at your exhaust tip and the test is carried out. Attached to the microphone is a cord whic plugs into a hand held device that reads the db level of your exhaust. The tester sits in your car and revs it to 3300rpm. When the car has reached 3300rpm the tester takes his foot off the pedal and presses a button on the hand held device to record your noise output. This test is applied three times and either averaged out, or takes your lowest db read out. Cant remember. The inspector then looks under the bonnet, and under your car and draws a very crude map of your exhaust from the turbo (or engine for all you N/A weaklings out there ) on your certificate. You then pay $27.50 and either pass or fail. the max db level you are allowed is 90db. I was once told by a very reputable GTR guy, that even a TOTALLY STOCK GTR exhaust system registers 89db. You get given the yellow copy for your own records and send the green copy (with your EPA letter) to the EPA. If you get tested with a resinator, you have to keep that resinator on at all times. If you get caught without it there are big fines and penalities. So NO you cant JUST put a resinator on. Better to put on the stock exhaust (which is just to Farkn obvious) or do a Ross special
  21. I may have a buyer. Is it off an N/A has VCT? How many Kms?
  22. Just too many people with too much time on their hands.....oh wait....RITCHIE!!!!

    Why Blow Fire?

    so it can bbq sausages
  24. Sorry That is incorrect. As soon as you drive out of the dB testing centre (with the pass) that pass is void. You can (and WILL) get reported (and get another epa letter) on your way HOME from the testing centre. You will notice that your letter has a epa number on it, each letter has a different epa number and they dont care if they sent you a letter a month ago, and you passed with 85dB, you must go back and spend another $27.50 How do I know this....think about it.
