? Skyline Seat Capacity ? Help
UnCo replied to aussietroy's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I was surprised when I pulled out my rear seat and found a 5th seatbelt neatly tucked under there. My other mate pulled out his GT-T rear seat and had the same score! Not that I'd ever use it or want it to be used.. I want to have some kind of view out of my rear vision mirror! -
Damn what a shame, it's people like these that I wish get hassled by cops for minor things lol

Sounds like he's purchased the kit but hasn't seen any return yet. 2 months is a long wait, I'd be asking for money back or something to compesate too. 2 months is definitely cause for questioning.. and you shouldn't be getting abused in return.

I bought this as a second unit http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...em=270439423461 It seems to be very similar. Works a treat.. except TV reception on both units I got are restricted by the antenna to the point where I don't use the TV function. Later on down the track I'll look in to better antenna options. I already enquired at Gary's Car Radio and they have in-glass aerial options for around $290 and a two piece in-bumper aerial where one sits across behind the front bumper and one across behind the rear bumper for $380 or something. But that's not on my to-do list anytime soon haha.

Do you have a CF hood? Pins would be the best way to go. I've got a standard bonnet, you can just use a strap to tie down the bonnet latch bit to a point in the engine bay. That's what myself and others I go to track have been doing.

When driving along casually, without needing voice guidance, you can touch the "antenna signal strength" which is at the very bottom left of the screen and it brings up a bunch of toggles. Theres one with a speaker, that one will turn off sounds when you don't need it.. so even if there is a speed camera up ahead, it won't beep, but it will still give you the visual warning. I'm up for a map exchange. I'll chuck all of mine on to PC and zip it to see how big it is.

Spotted a nice R32 GTR at Sandown yesterday for the MGCC Trackday. I was the one with the Blue R34 not far from you.

Jailbreak for 3.1.2 has just been released as of yesterday. Blackra1n made by the same guy that made Purplera1n. Instructions here. http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=5527

Spotted an orange 4 door R34 today driving behind me at Springvale. I stopped at the Safeway and so did they!

Quite a few Skylines at Status Tuning today. Silver 33 with SAU sticker.. and also saw RB26T driving out in the morning as I arrived there.

That was me saw a spot next to you and had to park there! Nice ride!
-
Haha if that went ahead, I bet the cops would be all over it ready to defect people. But then that would be kinda proving the point for the people on the cruise right? lol

I personally can't see the image of Skyline's being "hoon" cars changing in the eyes of police. I think we all just have to live with the stereotype of owning one. If you drive sensibly, you'll be fine and that's all you can really do to help the image for the rest of the Skyline drivers. But it just takes ONE irresponsible d*ck to ruin all of that.

Mornington Peninsula is nice, I've rented a house there for a couple of nights this Easter and last Easter break. Beaches there are nice, good views from the holiday houses, and as Charles said the Hot Springs are a good place to go.

Sorry I'm new to this but can someone explain who pettett is? I understand he's a cop, but is he on the forum named as pettett or something? And what does he look like so I know if I've been pulled over by him haha!
-
I think because she was saying she got told by people who witnessed it.. If someone told you they saw someone reverse in to your car, you would probably cause a fuss over it too even if it ended up being false right?
-
I do about 800km a week mostly around north side and east to south east side and in 1 year of owning this car, I've only been pulled over once for a random breath test and look under the hood. They were doing a blitz at spaghetti junction and I had an unmarked follow me for a bit before pulling me over. To be honest, I don't know how long he had his lights on for because it was completely blocked by the stock wing in the mirror. He said I "seemed like the non-hoon type" and wouldn't keep me any longer. Very reasonable cop and easy to talk to about mods I had on the car.

That show that followed seems to be a redubbed version of Destroyed in Seconds from Discovery Channel haha. That was the most interesting today, those shock waves were awesome to watch!
-
Haha yeah I just realised, I heard the cop say it before they showed it and I just jumped on lol My bad!

Spotted a black R34 around 9am on Weidlich Road in Eltham.. someone from here?

I believe you can just load the folder on to the SD card. I haven't tried interchanging the GPS software over the two units I got yet though. One came with July 2009 maps and IG08 or something like that as the software, the other unit came with Route66, TomTom and IG08 too. The IG08 one looks the best and it's the one I use over the other ones. If you'd like, I can pop my maps/software from the SD card in to a zip file and upload it for you.

Ah could've sworn I heard them say Hume. Oh well, either way, doesn't change that footage haha.
-
I was thinking.. going at 151km/h on the Hume where there's no street lights around, I'd probably believe that she didn't see them until last minute and it would take 100m to stop anyway. And they said she didn't stop straight away, if you watch the footage, she had hit the brakes already by the time she passes the camera. Stupid to speed like that anyway but cops on the Hume said the same about a friend of mine.. that he showed no intention of stopping straight away :S that footage looked pretty clear to me.

Digging up an old thread.. just an update, I decided to contact Peter and Allan at Bodyform about the side skirts and rear pods. I ordered them and had arranged a friend to pick them up on his road trip to Sydney. When my friend got there, there was a bit of a mix up in dates and it wasn't ready, but the guys down at Bodyform were kind enough to send the parts down to my door free of charge to make up for the error. (Excellent customer service!) The parts were shipped out on Thursday and arrived at my door on Friday, extremely well wrapped and handled. I had a quick peek at them to check out the quality and it looks good from what I can see so far! I didn't open it up fully, I'll do that after I've transported them to the shop to get them test fitted and sprayed for the final fit. Overall experience with Bodyform so far: - Excellent communication - Great service - Parts look the goods so far I can say without a doubt that Peter and Allan hold customer relations and service extremely high and I'd definitely deal with them again. I'll post pics up of the finished product when I get it done. Here are just a couple of phone camera shots of the package.
