  1. PFC ! but seriously, who will be tuning your car ? Ask them what ECU they prefer to work with.. thats what you should use.
  2. me johnno and dave used to do semi regular meetups on the gold coast.... I think some of you came along with us when we did some of the springbrook runs. Johnno moved back to brisi (and blew up his engine), my engine also let go and dave is currently in melbourne (and rebuilding his engine). I'm keen for the odd cruise/meetup, but cant do places that are likely to have the boys in blue present.
  3. that is HOT.. gl with the sale
  4. sounds like your BOV is getting stuck open...... take it off, give it a good clean , check its set correctly etc....
  5. my stainless has developed some cracks.. have welded them back together but thats a short term fix.. theres a reason kyle offers lifetime warranty on his steam pipe manifolds... will be upgrading to 6boost once the manifold starts to leak again.
  6. third vote for dan !
  7. dyno figures are meaningless unless you back them up with real world figures (like trap speed). If you want to delude yourself into thinking you have 215rwkw on a basically stock motor with an exhaust and some boost, then go ahead. The 2 dyno graphs pasted so far both have been @ RE.. so im suspecting a happy dyno like ash said. run a high 12 @ 112mph and we'll believe you.
  8. its a leak or a blockage. Check all intake piping for leaks.. particularly small leaks around the piping joins. Has the car started sounding different at all ? you would hear an exhaust manifold leak if you had one... Could be your BOV not staying shut as pressure builds up... could also be something stuck in the exhaust blocking it up. btw 310 (approx) rwkw from an RB20... impressive.
  9. yea if your pulling 265 off a highflow, your doing alright.. the ones i've seen are all rated around the 250rwkw mark with all supporting mods.. To get much more power, your gonna need a new turbo.. my advice would be to look at some other mods that might be worth doing.. oil cooler, suspension, brakes.. 265rwkw from a highflow should be a really nice responsive car. start chasing more power your going to lose response...
  10. Which highflow brand ? GCG/Slide highflow should both support ~18psi safely.... your milage may vary... up to you.
  11. no they pretty much got it right... definately sounds like an ex manifold leak... performance wont change much initially, but as the crack widens will get worse.. plus you get weird looks from people as you drive past them sounding like a tractor Should be able to get someone to weld it back together for < $100 or otherwise, a new manifold is going to set you back ~$1k+ for a 6boost.
  12. that still doesnt explain why you would go and spend x hundred dollars on an exhaust tip to bolt up to your stock exhaust... it does nothing for performance, wont sound any better and makes all of us think your a twit. bubba has it all wrong, you need to sell the line and buy a Lancer!
  13. I'm not an expert by any means, but i believe ring gap is dependant on your application (street / race). Should be looking at somewhere around 20-22 thou. Check with someone who knows more than me.
  14. Talk to Dan @ ERD ! Best quality of workmanship around coupled with lowest price == win win ! Details below
  15. no disadvantage.. whether or not you will get an ADVANTAGE depends on your current exhaust/turbo/engine setup.. your current setup will also determine if you need a change in tune........ probably not... more info and we can help you more.
  16. daaaave soo sad to hear she's gotta go. bump for the best 4 door 33 in queensland ! Dave has loved this car as much as his wife, you wont buy better !

  18. second vote for Dan @ ERD. see below.
  19. will depend on a lot of factors but approx 60-80hp...
  20. 2nd'd.. new few pump (bosch 040 is nice). wont need new injectors at 10 or 11 psi on the stock turbo.. at 10psi you can even get away without an ECU upgrade although it will get you another 20hp if you chose to get it and it means down the track you can replace injectors and turbo and chase more power.
  21. a set of 444cc GTR injectors or 555cc Nismo/other injectors and then add your turbo of choice.. 2530/2535/2540 are all good choices depending on what you want (response vs power)... will need aftermarket AFM too at this point... Z32 is ~$300 if you really have cash, i'd consider not spending any more money on this engine, and doing an rb25 / rb26 transplant.. The RB20 doesnt scale up as well as the other 2 engines, and the extra half a litre displacement is nice.
  22. and you haven't added Tomei to the list
  23. if it's a highflow job with steel wheels, it's good for 18psi. But if your still running stock engine management, your going to run into all sorts of problems very quickly. I'd keep the boost low for now, pay someone to pull the turbo off and check that its a proper high flow job in good condition and find out what ECU you have.. if its aftermarket, take the car to a tuner and get em to tune it to run on 18psi. if its not aftermarket, thats probably your next upgrade. If your still running stock injectors, they are going to run out of puff at around 14 psi on the highflow as well. same with stock fuel pump.. in short, you need to get it checked out by someone in the know so you dont risk doing damage to the engine !
  24. too much power for an old man to drive imo S2 noel
  25. +5. Is dan. Is good.
