  1. he's provided me with the original steering wheel with airbag included. the series 3 front lights were swapped during compliancing. The silencer is harder to fit than i thought.. not because its complicated, but just cause the bastard of a thing is a really tight fit and requires a bit of elbow grease to get it in. so ill revise 20 seconds to '2 minutes' having an absolute blast.. car is really well put together.. engine loves revving, and sounds so angry. im not ready for the march 25th track day, but ill be at the next one heres a pic from today:
  2. front lip is currently 90mm off the ground.. which is probably fine for handling.. i doubt raising it to 105 (15mm / 1.5cm) will change either looks or performance much.. but it will keep the popo happy. im going to plum back the screamer pipe which will have no effect on performance whatsoever.. as far as quietening the exhaust.. I have a removable silencer with an inner width of 2".. apparently fitting that takes the noise down to around 90db.. loses a lot of power, but fine for putting around on the streets, and takes 20 seconds to install/remove.
  3. the mod plate covers the 2 seater mod, roll cage, turbo, induction, suspension and pretty much everything else. Its registered as a 2 seater as well. The only dramas with it atm are the screamer pipe, ride height, exhaust volume and BOV... although its a quiet bov so you dont really notice it unless your really giving it a bootfull. I have a silencer that plugs into the back of the exhaust that apparently brings it down to a slightly less noticeable ~90db but i need to get a clamp of some sort to hold it in there. will sort that out over the next week. screamer pipe being plummed back in a fortnight or so, and getting it raised 15-20mm at the same time.
  4. i've got the roadworthy sitting in the glovebox.. will pm you name and number..
  5. current list of things to do: - raise car ~15mm (currently front lip sits 90mm off ground) - plum back screamer pipe and add a cat (well.. something that looks like a cat anyway ) - touch up tune @ Matt Spry's - QR racedays
  6. btw when i say full, i mean low boost setting only.. high boost will obviously add a bit more spool time.. car revs out to 8800.. and only thing stopping it from going further is the crank.. forged crank and it would rev to 10k prob.
  7. well, if you had foot to the floor from a 2500rpm start, it prob wont really hit boost till about 4000rpm.. full before 5000, but its not designed to be driven down low.. anything below 2000rpm and the car doesnt like it. im usually changing gears at ~3500 to drive smoothly. if you started off at 3500-4000 it still takes a couple of seconds to spool up, but its not too bad for a single.. T04Z is a good turbo.
  8. will take pics when i get home this avo.. heading home early so 3-3.30pm will have some pics up. edit: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Fu...Gt-t201722.html - pics from the sale post.
  9. atm i usually just cheat.. break for a bit, then blip the throttle while i change then start breaking again - its a lot smoother when i do that. gonna start training myself to heel toe. im very happy.. car is just insane to drive..... atm ive only been game to use low boost (~450awhp).. and that still feels too fast... high boost is ~ 550awhp.. gonna be taking it easy for next few weeks.... i still get speed giggles after giving it a squirt.. its just insane.
  10. pics up tonight. this car is fkn amazing. bitch of a thing to drive (Twin plate clutch + short shift kit == rough), but its soooo worth it
  11. picking up my GTR in < 1 hour... cant wait.
  12. the rest of the exhaust is rear exiting ...
  13. already posted this in a thread on sauqld, but whats the ruling on non-plummed back external gates for the street/race classification at the time attack race days ? A: Street Class: The Vehicle must be constructed by a major manufacture. Must have a rear exiting exhaust system with a muffler. Must be road registered. Must have OEM glass. Must have OEM doors. Must have both front seats (can have a race seat and a standard seat) and basic interior in the front half of the cabin. (Removal of carpet, stereo etc and liner allowed but not the dash) Must not have in cabin adjustable brake bias / pedal box. Must have DOT approved street legal tyres. Tyres must not have “For race use only” or “Not for highway use” marked on them. The tyres cannot be grooved slicks etc (See tyre register thread for further details)
  14. already have the insurance quote.. just have to accept it which I will do the day I go to pickup the car.

  19. hey geoff.. thanks for the comments but ive found another GTR that im a lot more interested... will PM you with some info.. would love feedback.
  20. car is sold pending payment on Wednesday.. will update thread accordingly. edit: SOLD
  21. bump. Am ready to buy my GTR but have to sell this first. make an offer.. will negotiate price.
  22. i'd come along to a dinner but dont do tuesday night - soccer training mon/wed/fri/sat/sun are all good for me. keen to catchup for dinner
  23. just got taken for a test drive in my potential new car. i thought it was going to be fast, but jesus christ i nearly pissed myself...... i now know what 400awkw feels like. When the external gate opened you couldnt hear anything but the engine. feels like a good tune under it as well. turbo is a t04z at a (mild) 1.4 bar... could probably achieve 500+awkw with some race fuel and 25-30 psi... but 1.4 bar is brilliant for a track car. its fkn insane. 6 piston brakes pull it up in the length of its shadow.. fully adjustable Tein coilovers... just wow. seriously, someone buy my 33 so i can get this.
  24. ta for that, thought that was the case. Let me know how you go. Car is up on carsales now.. would love for it to go to an SAU member, but have found the GTR i want so need to get the ball rolling. if you have any questions or need any help, feel free to pm or call me. thanks, Gervase
  25. im not too certain, i'm guessing there was an overlap period. I know most 96 models are series 2 but this car is definately a series 1.5.. the compliance plate says 1996 but they've been known to get them wrong before.
