  1. why not just have the thermo wired to turn on when the car turns on ?
  2. AFM.. its always the AFM if you can borrow one to test, great, else search this forum for "+solder +afm" and have a go at self-repairing.
  3. oh and how much knocking are we talking about here ? audible, or just registering on the PFC h.c ?? @ 20psi, i would have thought that turbo would be pushing somewhere around to 250rwkw or more.. which is way beyond stock injector capabilities ?
  4. if hes got the stock injectors at 80-90%, hes only at 220rwkw.. stock internals are fine for that. 1st guess would be that the new BOV is leaking air.. would cause a:f ratios to go mega rich and missfire (as well as lovely black farts out the exhaust). check the tension on the BOV spring. Im not too familiar with the SSQV, but im guessing you have to set the spring tension for the amoutn of boost your running. either that, or you've made a tiny leak somewhere when installing the BOV, and its letting air out under boost causing the same problem.

  6. i paid $200 to get mine tuned by Matt Spry... $250 is the most i'd pay... $300 seems very over the top if its already installed. its a 1 hour job on the dyno.
  7. oh you'll also need a new fuel pump if you want to push it much further than 220.. even that is at the limits, although the FPR will help.
  8. thats at about 18psi.. maybe less. your injectors will be the limiting factor here. with 555cc's you can probably start heading towards 250rwkw @ 18psi.. throw some cams on there and you should be very close to that figure. But if you were going to spend this sort of money, then perhaps a fully programmable ECU is worth forking over for ? $900+$400 for tune of emulimate = $1300. You should be able to get either a PFC or a microtech/link/wolf installed and tuned for well under $2k..... just some food for thought ^_^
  9. a fair bit. your factory ecu would not be liking that GCG high flow. With timing/fueling control you should be able to lean out the top end and pull 220-230rwkw (max for stock innjectors). tuning costs at best guess would be between $300 and $400 depending on where you get it done and if they have to install it as well.

  11. My old radiator had a small leak in the top plastic tank. Replaced it with an aftermarket all alluminium one but the shroud didnt fit. Havent had any heating issues so far even now that we're into summer. This radiator does seem to cool a lot better than the stock one though, so im guessing the ~5-10 degrees im losing for not having a shroud is being made up by the better radiator.

  15. Microtech ! $1500 from race pace (SAU Sponser). You can justify the $1500 price tag by knowing that your saving $300 by not needing that Z32. Im certain there would be some good tuners in melbourne who work with microtechs
