  1. well you increased the boost so maybe the tune wasnt injecting enough fuel for the increased air flow and therefore you got knocking ? took a bit of a gamble running your turbo's @ 1 bar ;o i wouldnt want to risk sending ceramic dust through my engine if i had a godzilla
  2. just so you know, the actual figure will be closer to 195+rwkw.. matt's dyno is a tad low I think thats a good thing though, your in for a pleasant surprise when you go up against someone claiming a 190-200rwkw tune on a dyno that reads high. i have my SAFC2 sitting in a plastic bag in my back seat.. out of curiosity, did you wire it up yourself ? and if so, if i was to bring some drinks along, would you be willing to help me wire mine up ? Matt said he'd do it for $100 which aint expensive, but its $100 that i should be able to save quite easily.
  3. 1 question - when you hit over 1 bar of boost and therefore use your atmo BOV, dont you still get the over fuelling / stalling issues ??
  4. if you want to use 91 octane fuel, go buy a daily driver for $1k or something.... seriously, do not use it in your skyline, bad things will happen.
  5. that is one beautiful car...... ahh well, i can dream. free bump and gl with the sale.
  6. spotted - sunday morning - someone in a white r33 passed me on Cottesloe drive and turned north onto Bermuda street.. took the corner pretty quick
  7. i cant help with most of your questions but turbo having a max life of 60k clicks ? i hope not.. mines done 155k and still goes pretty hard at 12 psi
  8. you pay for what you get. If you can save up $1k, then why not save an extra $500 and get high quality gear. Strathfield get my recommendation cause they really looked after me when I got mine done. Spent many hours after installation helping me get rid of engine noise and claimed it under warranty when they prob didnt have to. imo: Sony GT700D head unit - $350 Pioneer 6" 4-way speakers (rear) - $130 Pioneer 6" + Splits for the front - $150 (guess price) 12" Sub in box - ~$300 depending on brand etc. JBL 6 channel amp to run all speakers + Sub - $500 Installation - ~$200 total: ~$1600 for a system that will rock you.. if you buy it all at once, they'll knock $200 off the price easy.. i guess you gots to decide what you want. thats pretty much my system and I have no regrets its awesome to listen to. Your call, but either way, get strathfield to do a quote and don't be afraid to haggle cause they will knock a bit off.
  9. heard nothing but good things about matt. will be going to him when i get my SAFC2 tuned (waiting for cash ) 1 thing to remember: i've heard his dyno is a tad on the conservative side.. so don't worry about the figure it spits out, just look more at the before / after curve.
  10. you cant buy a PFC for 1k any more.... more likely to be: $1500 + $500 tune = $2000 total.
  11. yea its all in the fuel mate. even a stock skyline wont drive nice with '95 in it. if you filled up, then ur gonna have to take it easy for the next few days... below 3k rpm, no hammering it around. Once it gets below 1/4 tank, put in $20 of 98 (bp ult or shell v-power pref). Then once that gets below a 1/4 again, fill up with 98 and you should be ok to drive.
  12. i promise i will make it to one of these in the coming weeks... sounds like a good way to meet some more of the club members. Just been insanely busy last few weeks. Once again can't make this one however have a good night pplz !

hahaha spook At least its not a gemini right ?
  14. welcome good to see that young and old can enjoy the engineering beauty that is the Skyline Look forward to meeting you at one of the events.
  15. what fuel are you using out of curiosity ?
  16. the neo has a higher resolution map, but you dont really use it anyway since the SAFC autmoatically interpolates between the points. Neo looks a bit nicer and is new.. aside from that, many people will tell you it was a step backward from the SAFC2 which had the knock sensor and the ability to have multiple maps as well. If you can dig up a nice safc2 2nd hand, get it, else the NEO will perform the same task, but ur missing out on some peripheral features.
  17. i wouldnt be adding any more boost till you get the front mount. You really dont want to be pushing hot air around. once you have a front mount, and you said you already have full exhaus + air filter, 12psi is reasonably safe as long as you arent thrashing it constantly.
  18. ya
  19. if you dont want more than ~250 kw then do like sexy-spook said and highflow your existing turbo. Will allow ~18-20 psi comfortably if im not mistaken which (with upgraded injectors and the other normal mods) will see you up towards 250 rwkw. Didnt someone hit 280 using a highflowed stock turbo ?

  21. i think i read yesterday that standard dumps in a GTR are 2.5" stainless steel... but i could be completely wrong.. wait for an owner to post before proceeding.
  22. it depends on the tune thats on there... like tmc said, if you know what to listen for then just drive around and take it easy.. if your going to do any hard driving, i'd suggest resetting to be on the safe side..
  23. crap Will keep an eye out (i live on the coast and work in surfers and am around ashmore/bundall/benowa often)
  24. yea without hearing the sound, am thinking slipping belt. this would normally happen if they are not tight enough... maybe take it back and ask him to check it out ?
  25. this could be really fun assuming no prior engagements, i wil come and will drag the girl along as well. If people are in need of a lift i can fit 2 (comfort not garunteed ;P) Im coming up from the coast and along logan/ipswich motorway.
