Rb26dett Head On An Gtt Rb25det Block
TriniGT replied to TriniGT's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Huh what, bro take it easy, I have spoken to SK more than enough to know him and I don't know where I have come across as disrespectful. I saw his profile and he has not come on in a while now hence the reason I asked what's up with him, don't go jumping to conclusions on your own. He has given me advice many a time on my RB26 build. So anyway I posted this to get a response on an RB26 head on a Neo block now back on topic , I don't come on here to make enemies, I have been browsing this forum for a couple years now. -
Rb26dett Head On An Gtt Rb25det Block
TriniGT replied to TriniGT's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
What's the deal with SK, whereabouts is he? I see his inbox is full. I know many are suggesting to keep the Neo setup and get the Intake Manifold (Plazaman), the Neo already has the GTR rods and solids already like the GTR, put the RB26 covers and throw on the GT3076R but I was wondering if it can be done with the RB26 head and the individual throttles for more response and also have the twin setup. Now that the situation with the comp ratio being so low I am wondering now. We'll see, but the question still has anyone done it? -
Rb26dett Head On An Gtt Rb25det Block
TriniGT replied to TriniGT's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yes I know but I am getting the entire head for a good price and having the individual throttles is an added bonus as well as the twin turbo setup. Let's not harp on the topic I just want to make sure you can use RB25 headstuds and if so is the RB25DE and DET headstuds the same, I am thinking so. Thanks to all for the input BTW. -

TriniGT replied to TriniGT's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I wanted the individual throttles and also the intake mani run on the side for shorter coldside piping, and also maybe do a twin turbo setup all at the same time, oh and the wow factor . Actually I am getting the RB26 for a good price and getting aftermarket intake manis for the RB25DET Neo is harder and expensive along with the harder to get injectors and then the exhaust manifold. Okay so RB25DE or is it RB25DET headstuds or are they the same, gonna do a search now? -
Does anyone have a part number for the bolt? Also Dirtgarage let me know if your design works as I am in the process of building my RB26DETT from an R32 and want this done right, read about some bolts failing in the US and it has me quaking in the boots after buying some new Tomei parts.

Rb26dett Head On An Gtt Rb25det Block
TriniGT replied to TriniGT's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Okay are you sure that using the RB25 headbolts I can bolt on the head? The reason I am using the Neo bottom end is because the RB26 engine that I am getting has bottom end damage and that I already have an RB25DET Neo engine in my GTT. Maybe the RB25 forged pistons may be an option I can look at, thanks. I just want to confirm that the headstuds from the RB25 can work on the RB26 head without worries, can you confirm firsthand? -

Rb26 Knock Sensor Harness On Rb25 With Rb26 Harness
TriniGT replied to stricnynel0s's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I am putting the RB26DETT head on my Neo RB25DET Block, so my plan is to swap over the upper part of the RB26 harness onto my RB25DET harness inclusive of the injectors and resistor pack and whatnot. Getting the damaged RB26DETT engine this weekend. -

SydneyKid clear your inbox please I am trying to contact you. -
Any more input guys, I am picking up a damaged RB26DETT and planning on using the RB26DETT head on my RB25DET Neo. Gonna try and do a twin turbo setup same time and use a map setup if the MAF setup is giving trouble. Does anyone know how I can go about fitting the DETT head to the Neo block, main thing I am concerned about is the headstuds situation and not wanting to bors out the block to the RB26DETT headstuds size and retap. I am hearing talks that the N/A RB25DE headstuds work proper as they are the right length and pitch. Can someone confirm please. Also, can the RB26 sump be modded to work on the RB25 block as well i.e. ends cut and shut and baffle installed?

So has anyone done it? I am picking up a damaged RB26 tomorrow and wanna hear from someone that has done the swap, RB26DETT head on a Neo block. Let me know. -
Has anyone done this? I too am looking for the wiring for this on an RB25DET Neo that I have upgraded the intake to a Greddy Intake manifold.

Gates Timing Belt Kit - New

Do you know where to get replacement idler and tensioner bolts and nuts? -
Done some researching, I am in the same predicament, I have a stuffed RB26 and have a working RB25DET Neo. I want the RB26 head and want to know if I can use the RB25 crank in the RB26 block. Or maybe even easier maybe I can use the RB25 bottom end with the RB26DETT head. But will I have to do to have this working, I know it is a drop in but I hear that the headstuds are different. Getting someone competent ove rhere is a problem to machine the headstud holes and retap, some have said to use RB25DE headstuds to clamp the RB26DETT head to an RB25DET bottom end. Can anyone confirm, need to make up my mind urgently.

Rb26dett Head On An Gtt Rb25det Block
TriniGT replied to TriniGT's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
From Trinidad in the West Indies, the only aftermarket things we really get are from Japan unless I order them new from somewhere overseas. -
As for a bracket, what I did was actually used wire. The defis fit very snug in the back of the housing, they are press fitted in so what I did was screwed the backing screws in behind the housing and tied wire around the screw and tightened it then strapped the wire across the back of the gauge and connect it to the second screw and tighten that one and continue doing it, it is cheap and effective and nobody is gonna be seeing it anyway. Will try and get some pics to show what I devised. As for getting to the gauges it is pretty simple, just tilt the aircon vents downward so that you can somehow fit your hand in there and just give it a tug. The vents should come out, after that you will see two screw holding the entire gauge assembly, remove those and disconnect the harness and it comes off. Simple job actually.

Rb26dett Head On An Gtt Rb25det Block

RB30 is quite rare on this part of the globe, hence the question. Anyone has done this? SK where are you bro. -
Alright, this will be my next projec tonce I get my S15 RB26DETT up and running but as for now I am already acquiring some parts, namely the damaged RB26DETT engine. I have done a bit of searching and people are saying that you need to machine the headstud holes and retap, some others also said you can use the RB25DE headstuds and they work proper, can someone clarify. What else needs to be done, was thinking about a new headgasket and a baffle and the usual RB26 headwork for oiling problems. Can anyone advise me who has done it as I am thinking along this direction. If the damaged engine has a good block and crank then my swap will be an RB26 but not sure until it is scrapped, guy just told me it was a spun bearing and the crank needs polishing but no one can know unless it is scrapped. Let me know what is needed as I am thinking along these lines.

Hmmm I'm in the same predicament, I want to remove the Neo and swap in an RB26DETT and actually sell the entire complete Neo to someone that is interested. What would it take to use the RB26DETT harness on my GTT? I have a manual BTW and would like to use my RB25DET gearbox also.
-
Really, hmmmm ............... This is my defi 60mm setup in the stock location, And for the record the defis pop right into the plastic housing, they actually wedge in and then you need to make some sort of bracket to hold them in. Works a treat.

Diff, Rear End Of Gtr For S15
TriniGT replied to tefu's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hi peeps, I am in a similar situation, I have an S15 that I am currently doing an RB26DETT swap in and at the same time I am looking at swapping the GTR 32 rear end in as I got everything as a package. I want to know if I were to unbolt the entire Differential, axles, and brake setup minus the spindle from the R32 GTR rear sub-chassis would it bolt directly onto the S15 rear sub-chassis. I will be using the S15 spindle of course and using all my S15 arms and whatnot. Can someone that has done this let me know, I have the entire R32 rear end but I have already bought my S15 Cusco coilovers and don't wanna have to use a combination setup. -
The size of the gauge would be the determining factor, if 52mm then you can mount them in the DIN section no probs. If 60mm then you will need to get creative.
