  1. 1) Sound (It had a stock radio and cassette deck) 2) Performance -specifically braking and handling 3) Looks - it is 100% stock
  2. Don't know what you are looking to spend but you might consider if you want adjustable bars versus non-adjustable. They aren't necessarily much more expensive. This will give you the ability to tune the suspension.
  3. Understanding that you have built the group buys for both performance (street & track) and value, and for those of us with R33/R34s, would looking at pairing one of these with the balance of the GB as a more expensive, more track aggressive option make sense (& buying Aussie so you get Aussie spring rates). Roy, What makes the Vic guys quicker that we can't work out / replicate here?
  4. Sent this AM from work. Should be good now...
  5. I take it track days don't get rained out. Guess the 'ol ATESSA gauge will get a workout.
  6. Still having technical issues with the fax but should get it clear up tomorrow.
  7. Sounds like a few of us will be there then.
  8. silver spray paint
  9. No - they are just looking for people who want to have fun and help. It's not a show girl gig. And ignore the quiz comments - most of them think HICAS is what you say to a girl named Cassy
  10. Go take a look at the Sydney Kid suspension group buy.
  11. I know I'm in a cabin somewhere but I assume Steve has worked out the details.
  12. Hey Guys - Steve said the fax didn't go through first time. Just refaxed. If it don't go this time, let me know asap.
  13. Who all is going to the Anzac day event?
  14. Wow - that is way out west isn't it? Yea, yea, I know it is all relative. Hey, check out the entertainment that night http://www.celebrityspeakers.com.au/brspea..._Index_Text=131 Sounds like it could be fun, beyond just the usual
  15. Hey Wayne - should be a really great time and were looking forward to drinking a few afterwards. Remember me - I'll be the guy in the nice white R33 GTR who can't drive for sh*t (first time) - but I will have fun....
  16. You do get a lot of things to happen when you are running charity events than when you are doing it just for the club. I'm sure if SAU could run an event that would make $80K for a good charity we could get doors opened and roads closed too.
  17. Tires are the best handling bang for the buck but I kinda consider them maintainence. Note that what I have done does not replace the springs (no stiffer than a stock GTR) and does not lower the car.
  18. Sent a very respectable note- no response.
  19. I have a R33 GTR V-Spec which I purchased primarily stock about 4 months ago. Mine isn't a daily driver but I do expect to get it to the track and I'm looking for a very solid car before, at some time in the future, rebuilding the motor for big HP. A few of my thoughts. You can spend a bit on suspension and brakes and get a good return. I have put on new brakes (Project Mu rotors, Nismo Pads, MCS, & braided lines and gotten a good braking improvement (around $2000). I'm also dropping money into suspension. Take a look a the SK group buy. I'm actually only buying the stabalizer bars and camber/caster parts (around $1000 plus install). I think this will give the biggest bang for the buck as a GTR suspension isn't bad to begin with and this simply tightens it up, allows better alignment/tuning and improves handling. Even the cheapest coilovers will cost $1300 and it is doubtful you will get the same performance improvement, though if you want to lower your car this will allow that where what I have done won't. I've added an Apexi intake ($400). Easy upgrade - and to be childish - I love in the intake sound. Next is an external oil cooler with filter relo. Bot one from JJR for $400 but the cost will be in installing it. I understand the idea of running a sump baffle and why it is better but I'm not pulling the motor just for that, which is what you need to do. I've also put on a Nismo oil seperator ($400) So I'm spending probably $4000-4500 including labor and have what I think is a very solid base car which stops and handles very well and should support track days w/o blowing up. There are people here who can comment better on engine upgrades than I can.
  20. Thanks guys - I should have looked in DIY first.
  21. Standard brake lines expand slightly when you press down on the brake pedal. Braided line don't. My understanding is that all braided line are not ADR approved.
  22. On the good advice of many of the track guys I purchased a Just Jap Racing 19 row external oil cooler for my R33 GTR. Now I needed to get it mounted. It makes sense that you mount it under the front bar / somewhere by the radiator so it gets airflow but precisely where? Does anyone have pics of how they have mounted theirs?
  23. How about? http://www.revolutionracegear.com.au/?fa=R...5BE1239CFB3CCBF with SAU logo on it. Might be a better group buy. Fun for the trackies...
  24. I think it is fantastic if we can get women involved who are into cars and know about them. Most of our significant others aren't/don't and having them meet the few who are only helps. At the last dinner Jess was nice enough to spend time with my wife and I can tell you that scored a lot of points for me in the "ok, go have fun with the skyline crew" department. If you can get your GF/spouse/other involved they will have fun and it will be a much better experience for both of you.
