I'm looking at buying a set of used wheels from another forum member and want to make sure I'm getting the offset maths correct
The current stock wheels are
F 17 x 9 - 30 offset
R 17 x 9 - 30 offset
the wheel I'm looking at are
F 17 x 8.5 - 28 offset
R 17 x 9 - 37 offset
Using the handy calculator I found on another post (http://marksink.com/tire_wheel_offset/offset.html), I've worked out that
The front wheel will have 8mm more clearance from the strut housing and will be 4mm into the body
The rear wheel will have 7mm less clearance fom the strut housing and wont change relative to the body
If I'm thinking about this correctly, the fronts are no problem. My question is the rears. Is 7mm a critical amount? How do I measure to check?
