  1. Just drove from the city to Flinders to care for my horses, 1km from my house I get pulled over. Car has been defected. Bald tyres. Could have been worse.... Much much much much much much much much worse. Cop apparently knows my family and had done the fencing on our farm when I was young so fortunately his attitude was forgiving. Stuck the defect on then took photos with his iPhone saying 'it's not every day you get to defect a Merc' I had to laugh. Phew. I need to get back to the track
  2. Interesting. Was there a reason?
  3. Quick shift is just assisting laziness unless you're down to working tenths off your lap time imo. Would spend/have spent my money on more effective things.
  4. f**king out of it today >.<
  5. What I meant was 1098 to 1198 is like 07-08 R1 to 09 onwards R1. Superseded model although only real difference was the cc increase therefore when speaking about the shape, which hasn't changed, it's essentially the same bike.
  6. Hang on let me rephrase
  7. Der I know this. That's why it was my example.
  8. The 1098 and 1198 are the same model bike, like 08 R1 to 12 R1, the shape and fairings are exactly the same. Obviously the only reason for the name change was because they had to reflect the cc's. Which was why I said shape. Anyway the whole point of the above was that everyone has different tastes. 999's are fine enough bikes. Blahblahblahblahblahblahblah..... Anyway.
  9. Hahaha doooo iiiiit The 999 is a good looking bike. -_- you said you preferred the RSV4 to the 1198 shape. They range from about $20-$25k second hand, but the market isn't moving so cheaper is possible. $8k... phwoar.
  10. Ommy nom nommles! Even a 15 minute ride from uni to home on this clears my head, makes me grin and feel giddy. Puuuuuuuur.
  11. Bahahahaha, I've got to hand it to you, I may not agree with everything you say but you sure do sick to your word. Respect enough, but srsly, I hope that never happens to you. Thanks dude that's a pretty rad compliment! I tend to be hyper aware of my riding when I'm around others so I'm glad it suited. Spending the day buzzing around the peninsula had worn me out so by the time I got to you guys I was happy to cruise. Muscles are sore today! Daytona sounds ok, the Micron pipe isn't too bad but I think the high pitched note triples produce is either a love or hate situation... And I'm leaning towards the hate apart from that it's a nicely balanced bike just a little underpowered. I wonder if a full system would fix that... Hmmmm
  12. Nope, swapped the Merc with a mates Daytona for a few days. Sending it back tonight.
  13. Meh, super come down around 11 last night, was a rough day today. Although could have been partly due to spending the day riding bikes, even though it was a leisurely ride. Anyway that's what the test is for, too bad.
  14. -_- *bored I have a set of these lying about... Size large I think, got them but never used them.
  15. I shall try these things you speak of. It took me a year to open the xo though so may take a while The XO I have was a gift, happy with that price!
  16. They're not no good, they're overrated and overpriced in a general sense. But like cognac the price part is often not an issue. The majority of owners use them for cafe transport which is sad for any bike. This is why when someone uses them right, like I believe Ash was saying his mates do, then it's awesome, just as awesome as any bike. When I took an 848 around Sepang it was a perfectly good bike, but a Japanese one for half the price could do just as well. Hahahahaha, even the fact that you watch ACA is enough said for me. Last I saw an ad for that show it was on imports. Enjoy but you'll be waiting a long time lol
  17. Honestly dude, a professional stunt rider who earns his income doing mono's and other stunts. The risk he's taking could be less than anyone on here dragging a car or doing a slide around a corner, are they all morons? Maybe for an inexperienced rider the coffin is expected, but you don't actually know anything about this guys ability. Maybe understand this before you start calling my friends names.
  18. Yeah hotel room, I do live in an apartment but it doesnt have that view... One can dream. Yeah I'm trying to get this guy to sell it to me, a couple of years old and it's only done 2000 km's! Probably 'never ridden in the rain'. So sad, like a bird with clipped wings when Ducatis are used for cafe errands. One of my mates who I was riding with yesterday has a 1098S and was doing 3km stand up monos down the fwy, the bike loves it! Best.
  19. From the other night... Nom nom, wrong glass I know. Was improvising. Don't see what the problem is with the price, all depends on what you personally consider enough value for the money. I enjoyed it
  20. It only arrived last night. Getting rid of the Daytona tonight so that I can have the excuse to ride it tomorrow huhu
  21. I recommend RST gloves, way more affordable than Dainese or AStars, great quality and fit a billion times better imo. UOf course this depends on your hand shape but I find any other gloves makes my thumb to forefinger movement quite restricted. They also look sick and match other gear well. Srsly though just get something good quality that fits well, no one is going to notice if your fashion is out of line :S
  22. Yeooowww. Was good to meet you Leigh. Fun ride, I would have opted for a few more laps but the ride around the peninsula had worn me out. I actually recommend it down there as there's not as much traffic, not so many corners but enough to have fun and no cops. In the end you're going 200kmph in between sweet spots so it works out to be the same value. Hah, yeah Birds I was surprised you were okk in your gear. I had.... two pairs of socks with plastic bags over them, full length tights, then bike shorts, then full length skins, a singlet, tee shirt, full length skins tee, a hoody, and my leathers over all of that... plus a scarf and normal gloves under my bike gloves haha! And I was f**king freeeeeeezing! Spent and hour in the sauna tonight thank god for that. Also, just found out my mates mates 1198s is sitting in the garage and is here open endedly to play with... we should go out again soon!
  23. Good news, haven't had any side effects from the cycle this morning. Will test a one hour ride on Thursday to see if anything happens. Also have been 59.4Kgs for the last few days, very soon at my goal
  24. So this morning I'm on Yarra Blvd and I spot about 100 people lining up for some run/marathon thingy. I think 'what the f**k are those psychos doing?!' Then I realised I was on my pushy and both of my thumbs were numb to the core -_- Saw my doc this week, clearly not diabetic which is good news. He suspects I have an imbalance of serotonin so on to the antidepressants. I'm monitoring their progress and effect by exercising roughly the same deal every two weeks, might even make it every week, and monitoring my reaction. Today's went a little like this: Wake up: 7.30, roughly 8 hours sleep, immediately ate 1 weetbix and a black tea Start: 8am Distance: 10.7km Time: 30 minutes Avg HR: 156bpm Max HR: 180 Afterwards immediately ate 45gm of a protein bar. Most likely unecessary to have so much but it had been lying around since January so it will do the job. Will probably just eat a can of tuna afterwards in the future or a low carb protein shake. I know 30 minutes isn't a lot of exercise, but the last time I cycled it was 37 minutes at a slower pace with a 20 minute break half way, and I was a wreck afterwards, so I think starting very slowly is a good idea as I still have things I need to be stable for (study etc) and I'll most likely get a reaction anyway. Hell if I don't then I'll be stoked, being able to maintain 30 minutes once a week would be a dream.
  25. pic Rimon?
