Ever Felt Like Drawing With Texta On Your Car?
Yidz replied to funkymonkey's topic in General Automotive Discussion
That looks mad as! The length of time spent on that would be outrageous.... -
Definately the value for money factor was very strong when I bought my R32. I wasn't looking at spending a whole heap of money on a car and to be honest, couldnt really find something that suited my needs for the same price. I got out of V8's for something different and so far I havent even thought about what my next car is because I'm enjoying it so much! I was just very disheartened to hear the opinions of some people on here when I enjoy owning my Skyline so much! I suppose the arrogance thing pisses us all off and this thread is a very good example of the other side doing the same thing back, nothings going to change so I'm not going to feed the fire in here anymore... No one has to like everything. Its called "acceptance" to be able to appreciate other peoples morals, tastes & opinions. I can compare it to a football team I support in the English Premier League. The team I go for is rival with one of my best mates teams. I enjoy watching the rival team play because they play great football, but I hate their guts comparable to some people in this debate. Respect I guess is what it comes down to...

I'm back Good points within reason. HSV could do a lot more with their cars. There has been talk for ages that they will be bringing out the LS7 in the GTS. Whether or not it happens is another thing. Nismo go fairly all out with their cars. Not to mention the price you would pay for such a tuned car. When you're charging the amount that is charged for a GTR + NISMO specs, a car that is $70k from HSV would be something like half the price of something talked about? The only real similarity is they are both performance divisions of a certain manufacturer. You also have to look at the budgets both companies have?

GTST... Probably only the second or third post from someone else in this thread that has true merit. People get so caught up wanking over their own car that they forget about everything else, and no matter what, nothing is better than what Nissan make and if its not Nissan, its not good. I have shown various people this thread who come from all Automotive backgrounds and they cannot believe the responses that some people have posted on here. People have been acting like 5 year old kids. There's good things about most cars that you need to see. Just because in the past when a R32 was produced the same time as a VL/VN commodore, and technology & quality may have been at a minimum, it doesnt mean that every other model from then on in is going to be the same. Obviously people can see that yes, I drive a Skyline and I am still a fan of Holdens. I chose to drive a Skyline for different reasons than buying a commodore (have owned a VX SS & VN SS) but I haven't let a badge nor ignorance stop me from chosing what I enjoy for whats practical for me at this stage of my life. I WILL try and stay away from this thread now

Or to individual tastes, and the fact that if you only need two seats and are not fussed about "track like handling", a ute is a lot more practical

Rb20 Ap Engineering Power Fc
Yidz replied to supadan's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Not a bad price at all!! Pity I dont have the cash... -
Ive only had good experiences with NRMA. In particular, I called one out because I had my keys locked in the car (put them in the boot and the car was deadlocked). He did an awesome job. It was in a VX SS commodore and its practically impossible once its deadlocke as you cant just pull up the latch with their usual tool. He had to stuff around with the wiring and shorted out the wire (knew exactly the wire etc). Towing is also a bonus

Wow.... Awesome find !!

Yeah I can imagine going from the 33 would of been a world of difference. To be honest I cant wait to get back into a Gen III. Keen on a VT GTS 300 or a VT Clubsport... Love the HSV styling. Big cam, blower etc Makes me wonder why im wasting my time on my thing now! -
I dunno about an R33 but an R32 you need more than luck to fit five people in there Its about being practical when needed, but also when you want to have a bit of fun you still can .. Just trying to keep it real haha

That is probably the most pathetic string of words I have seen in my life You just took everything out of this thread and completely blew it out of the water. Mate you are running down HSV like there is no tomorrow yet YOU WERE GENUINELY INTERESTED IN BUYING ONE? $5K into one you can run 12s and there is proof of it. An Edit, High Ratio Diff Gears & a shot of NOS will get you there very easily. For 5K you can also buy a bolt on supercharger kit, and with the right set up will run 12s all day. No shit my friend? You're comparing a 310awkw GTR to a standard HSV from the factory? The car is minimum 14 years old, of course its going to be cheaper. It may have been a hands down win in one way but also, good luck fitting a family of five in there. People buy different cars for different reasons, who come from different backgrounds & tastes. For such a large, heavy 4 door car, I can't see a problem with them. Go and do your research before you come on here and post utter crap because you have formed an opinion in your head & FYI not everyone may share the same interests as you. Have a nice day A lot of people I meet are Jap Cars and anything else is just a bogan commodore or ford. Its tragic. Any true car enthusiast wouldn't care what other people drive and be happy that other people share the same interest as you, whether it be a Nissan, Toyota, Holden or Ford badge. And you only have to look at Summernats to get the other side of the coin. People can't except imports either. No one will ever bring it together... Just gotta accept there are people everywhere who are like it and nothing will change..

Thats exactly right Think of it as healthy competition!
-
Ridiculous how bad its gotten around the area. Alarmed at all? Surely it was with all those mods?
-
As mentioned, its a pretty simple job. Took us longer than 5 minutes as im not exactly mechanically minded but it is fair simple though. Just pull it out from the back and put the new one back in the same hole. Not rocket science and you would be silly to pay someone to do it Must say a lot easier with two people on the case.
-
Just had to make sure that you let everyone know that the ute article wasn't significant to you? Feel bigger that you read the GTR & Lambo articles with more interest? Hope so ... No power is usable on the street and where it is usable (the track) im sure the tyre selection would make this a hell of a lot more "usable". Obviously with that much power in any car with that much torque its going to have issues getting traction??

Each to their own fellas... If I had a daily driver like that I would probably do stupid shit to it too Pretty sure its been for sale for a fair while..

Vt Ss Ls1 - Who Has Driven One, Who Owns One?
Yidz replied to CEF11E's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Interesting perspective. Did you have any suspension mods done to your SS? Only because mine was lowered and had aftermarket springs & shocks and it felt fantastic around corners. It suprised a lot of people. Never drove one with standard suspension though so I can't really comment. I know I'll get mauled on here but I don't understand how people like the look of Stagea's? I think they look ugly as... Always had a soft spot for Aristos though -
That Final kit looks awesome Almost like a combo of the bet kits around and the good bits from them!

Vt Ss Ls1 - Who Has Driven One, Who Owns One?
Yidz replied to CEF11E's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I previously owned a VX SS M6 and they are a great car. Mine had just 200kw atw but had plenty of up and go. Only reason I sold it was I wanted something different and at the time I had just taken a trainee position and couldnt afford loan + fuel etc. If you are going to buy a manual, hsv short shifter is the go too! Mine had been rebuilt but still had a touch of piston slap. Didnt cause any problems at all though. It was just a bit of a noise but with the exhaust you could hardly hear it I would recommend one to anyone. Especially how easy it is to pull some nice power out of them Sold mine just over a year ago for $16500. Wasnt immaculate but I kept it in good nick.. -
You're also then assuming Average Joe wouldn't be as good a driver as the rich that can afford such cars as an SL55, which wouldn't be the case for all. Car companies don't have a liability to keep people alive. I can see what you're saying though, as 422kw is enough for anyone in a Ute, but at the end of the day, people who would buy this already done, are most likely going to be the people who would of done it anyway using an aftermarket shop. May as well have it done if you can from the factory and keep the warranty in tact etc
-
Which also means cars like the SL55 & XKR shouldn't be produced? They are perfectly legal, V8, Supercharged, and wouldnt be any slower than this ute...
-
Can anyone look on the positives on anything to do with this car? I didnt wanna start a VS thread but I've never actually been able to voice my opinion in one before it was locked! I just seem to find that people nit pick on such irrelevant little things due to the fact that they just dont like them. Like the fact that GM owns Holden & Chev & now someone is picking on Holden for putting a Chev motor in is just ridiculous Side Note: You ARE allowed to have modded Skylines & other imports on the road and not be harassed for it. Engineers certificate is a good start....
-
But who gives a Fcuk if they use a Chev engine? Obviously you do? Wow Nissan use a Nissan engine. That must make them automatically a better car? Obviously Holden have done their research and decided that the more feasible option is to use a Chev motor and it is churning out the numbers so whats the problem? Why build something yourself when you have something thats proven?

How Much Power Can You Get Out Of An Rb20 For $5000
