  1. Only reason I know is if I bother to get a kit, this is the one that interests me the most
  2. LOL @ taking spoiler off is a ricer modification
  3. Exactly the way I look at it. I'd rather 240rwkw than: Standard RB25 or an average 26 that may need a rebuild and will need a new gearbox bolted up. Especially if you have proved to yourself that the RB20 you have has been reliable enough to start modifying. People claim all sorts of shit when trying to sell motors... just rebuilt etc etc, only 100,000kms etc but then, why are they selling them? Of course, there may be some cases where receipts are shown and there is a genuine reason proof but you will find most of these will be out of the budget. At the end of the day, I would love to havea 25 in mine but its just not financially viable for me to do it. I would much rather spend $5k on my existing motor that I've owned for a year and never had any drama (fuel pump & touch wood ) than risk buying something out of car you don't see running that may have some internal problem you would never know until you have spent the money on having someone install and hook it up.. Obviously some people could share some good experiences they've had, but you never know what you're gonna get and its always best to prepare for the worst.
  4. I dont understand the point of your argument though. The argument isn't what parts are made from who? People are arguing about the cars as a whole. There isn't any way of knowing what the commodore would be like without the 'CHEV' engine. Its like saying the GTR probably wouldn't be as good without the RB26. No Fcuking crap? But the fact is the VE SS does have a Chev engine (who cares who makes it?)and thats how its been made. Anyway, no one is bragging, they are simply trying to stand up for a car that isn't half bad & that most people dont give any time on here because of a badge. Now its the fact that Chev makes then engine. I thought this kind of argument stopped when they stopped putting the 30 in VL's.
  5. Agreed. I think you'll be suprised how quick 240rwkw is
  6. Depends how much power... You'll find a few threads on this too. I believe there is a high powered rb20 thread around somewhere. Also, have a look at the RB20 + mods thread. You'll get a good idea as to whats needed for what figure..
  7. GTST is pretty much on the money but as he said you can bet your money on having to spend on other things. If it was that easy, everyone would be driving around with 240+ which is certainly not the case Also depends how much of the work you are doing youself as well. I might be wrong but from figures in my head that would push it over 5k..
  8. LOL thats being a bit picky. Its like saying you cant say your Aston Martin is awesome because it has many items fitted that are genuine Volvo parts?
  9. I cant believe the arrogancy of some f**k wits on here, which is why I have never attended a cruise and probably won't. This bloke is spot on... People cant be open enough to accept that some cars are built for different reasons. Holden have built a car that most of the Australian market WHO APPEAL to these kind of cars like, hence being one of the highest sellers. I use to own a VX SS M6 and the handling of this car was awesome. With a set of aftermarket springs & shocks it handled good enough for anyone. Who gives a shit if a Skyline handles a little better on the track? Can you really use it on the road?? It goes around corners a bit quicker so that AUTOMATICALLY means its a better car? I dont think many people have read the article for this particular ute. It ran its quarter at 111mph. It also has over 700nm of torque. Trying to keep this power to the ground in a ute whilst running a good time would be next to impossible.
  10. I dont really see what the big deal is with the recall's. The latest one is only for a minor change and apparently doesnt take long at all. Most of the top selling cars have had them through their time (Falcon, Aurion, Commodore). I believe its only 1 or 2 cars it has happened to out of the 1000's they have sold.
  11. Thats exactly what I meant... Also depends what motor you are looking to modify also Some people are V8's & only V8's whereas some people are Turbo's only...
  12. Was only reading this thread yesterday, and behold, my left blinker is doing the same thing this morning!
  13. All depends on your requirements.... A 32 GTR isn't very practical for many people, nor not everyone likes them.
  14. Origin..
  15. Cronulla Car Sound installed mine. Always do good work there...
  16. Completely agree & I'm a Skyline owner as well... I have a mate with a TT LS1 and wouldnt even consider any Skyline over it...500rwkw it is an absolute animal whilst still extremely tame for everyday driving whilst not needing the worlds biggest turbos to do so..
  17. I just bought one the other day and I couldnt believe how heavy it is GTS-T's I think look good if its pulled off right but I havent seen a GTR that looks good without one unless it has the lip. Each to their own though
  18. Yeah mine sucks real loud but i have the same situation with you with space.. Anyone bought a standard box lately for a 32? Any idea on $$$?
  19. They do 13's standard? Is that a fact or just what you're assuming?
  20. Yep I agree. I broke mine myself and bought a new one from Just Jap for the same price...
  21. Wow... that looks nuts
  22. If you can get $3200 for it you're doing pretty well. My mate's buying this TV in the sale for a very similar price brand new in the shops. Haha love the priorities.. Turbo over TV
  23. I'll check tonight if its the size for my camera and get back to you If so I'll buy one.. Cheers
  24. If you're gonna spend the money just get it all done at the same time.. It doesnt exactly break the bank, and certainly not compared to having it nicked.
