Don't agree. I would have just as many Skylines wanting to have a go as any other make/model. Commodore drivers would want to do it for the same reason as Skyline drivers would. They feel the need to prove themselves. The thing is which you have to remember too, is that there are a shitload more Commodores on the road than Skylines, so naturally, you are going to have more hero's trying to race you in a Commodore than another Skyline. The thing is with Commodores and Fords, they are the most 'socially excepted' cars in Australia. Therefore, you have to remember that people from all different walks of life / values / morals have grown up with these cars.
What do you classify as passion though?
You don't need to have a passion for Skylines to own one. In previous years, honestly, I never use to have any time for them for various reasons. Was never a fan. The only reason I decided to test drive one was because I had seen so many of them on the road, there must be something half decent about them. The day I jumped in, I couldn't believe how well balanced, and how much fun I could have in this R32. I enjoy driving my car, and I have started to appreciate them a lot more than what I have beforehand. I still don't like a lot of Skylines...therefore I guess I could say I'm not as passionaite for them as some people on here. Should it stop me from driving one?
Its because of the minority that ruin it for other people. Its also a bit of common sense. If someone is to see a Hiace next to them at the lights or a Skyline who do they think the car enthusiast is? Because modified cars are in such a lime light of being the cars where the drivers cause the most trouble, they automatically think, Skyline - Enthusiast - Will Race Me. The world revolves around the media. Unfortunately, most people believe any hype thats thrown on TV. It also doesn't help when they have footage on Youtube of modified car drivers (I wont call them enthusiasts) of people sliding, speeding & racing on public roads.
You certainly haven't offended me, just thought i'd throw another view at it
