The seller will not comply the car without my giving a deposit, hence basically commiting to buy it. So i am going to get it inspected, so I will head down to vic. and look at it and test drive it before it goes to compliance and rwc, rego. Once that is successfully done I pay the rest of the amount and get the car transported to adelaide. the problem I have is that I will not see the car from the time before it goes to compliance to hwne it rocks up at my door, so I wont see any changes that have been made to the car during compliance and rwc. Is it likely that much of the car will have to be changed? I expect just tyres, windscreen, side intrusion bars. My question is, will anything be changed during compliance and rwc that I would want to see before paying for the car, or would the car essentially be the same before and after compliance

Guys, I have read hte stick post regarding the paint codes for many japanese cars, but it hasnt answered my question. I am looking at a grey r32 gtst and buying it from interstate. THe photos of the car show that it is grey but the grey looks alot lighter than the gunmetal grey that I wanted the car to be. Is there more than one colour of grey for exterior r32 skylines (inc. gtr), if there isnt then the photo may just be light coz of hte camera or woterver thanks mike

Hey guys, Im looking at buying another R32 and want to know if any year skyline has longer seat rails so that the seats slide back farther, or just a skyline year whose ineterior provides more space in drivers seat for tall people. My mate has a 1993 gtst and it seems like I being a taller driver fit better in the 93' as compared to my 90'

Thanks Craig, Yeah the car is a 15 year import. I think I will choose to get it complied and registered in vic, that way I can get the racv to do a pre purchase inspection done and I can test drive it before I take delivery. The seller is offering to comply the car through his contacts. It would be a great help if you could give me a list of things to ask for, as far as import docs and car history go. You said that I should get the car's history, do you mean the details that were recorded on import? or history about the car's life in japan? I will get an inspection done, have the report sent over to me and speak on the phone with the guy who inspected the car. Its a 1990 model and has apparently 98,000 kms. Is there anything specific I can ask the inspector to look for that will help me to verify the km? this is one thing I am nervous about. If the car has been stolen/rebirthed in japan I assume this will come up through compliance Also I have noticed that it doesnt have 'nissan' and 'gts-t' on the back. has it been resprayed? is there another way I can check this? Hey guys, Ive come across a completely stock R32 gts-t in victoria. It has been imported from japan but has not been complied. I am looking into transporting it over to SA and having it complied and regoed here. So how much cash am I looking at? about 500 to get the car over here, 1200 for compliance? What do you guys think. Id be eager to hear from ppl who have done this exercise before thanks Michael

That sounds good. Just, on the diff, it has been changed over from a locked diff to an lsd by pvp (i think its pvp) for apprx $500. does this have anything to do with the whine, and would the lock diff/conversion have any lasting effect on the car thanks

haha, I forgot 3" exhaust How hard are these things to remove Gauges I can take off myself, do you need to remove the associated cabling aswell to pass regency? Blow off valve and exhaust I will have to get removed at a shop, and replaced with stock Suspension? can I simply have it raised or do I need to remove adjustable shocks and replace with stock?

Hey guys, Ive got an R32 that used to have a lock diff (on import), but was converted to lsd before I bought it. all i know about it is that the person that converted payed approx $500 at a shop. There is a whining noise from the rear of the car that is there when the car is moving and increases pitch as the car moves faster. Do yous know wot this noise is? repair costs? does it have anything to do with the above. Also, for $500 (installed) the installed diff was wot sort of condition, yous rekon? Thanks

Guys, Just wondering about an upgrade on an R33 gtst from stock to front mount intercooler. Obviously the temp/density of the incoming air has changed as compared to stock. Should the ECU therefore be reprogrammed to take this into account? Is not reprogramming/replacing the ECU detrimental to the engine, or will it just mean that you dont get the most performance out of the intercooler upgrade Thanks Michael

Hey guys, how can I figure out if an r33 skyline has ABS, aside from attempting to lock the wheels up? Is there a fuse I can verify is in there that is for the ABS system? or is there some other way of checking? Thanks Michael
