  1. I think the Supra would be a better day to day car. A lot more torque at low revs than the GTR.
  2. ^^ lol I was fixing the other guy's grammar mate, I wasn't repeating his point.
  3. Anyone going to the driver dynamics advanced driver's day on 31 jan?
  4. I think they improved the reflector design on the R34's. R32's and R33's have pathetic headlights. The only good ones were the HID's on the SIII GTR's.
  5. + 1,000,000 on the dull headlights! WTF is the deal with having headlights as powerful as candles in a country like Australia with many dimly lit urban roads?!
  6. Choosing one political party over the other is like choosing one torture method over the other. Either way it's going to hurt.
  7. Firstly, I don't advocate speeding on public roads. I've said it before and I'll say it again, public roads aren't race tracks. But I'm annoyed as hell that the government doesn't actually seem to do anything to reduce the road toll other than fine people. If they in fact DID care about reducing the road toll they would increase driver training and awareness. As it stands, there is more emphasis now on the 'virtual driving tests' than on actual driving when someone goes to get their p-plates. Apparently if you can touch a computer screen at the right time you're considered worthy of a driving license.
  8. What movie was that from?
  9. Actually I think it became an option on 1996 models, while it was standard on the Series III models.
  10. Yeah man that irritates the hell out of me because I like driving with my window down most of the time. AARGGHHH!!!!!
  11. The car's a joy to drive for the most part. The only real complaints I have of my 1996 GTR are: i - airflow in the cabin is woeful at any speed under 100 kph making the cabin a relatively hot place. ii - lack of off-idle torque. This makes it a real pain in the ass to keep up with slow moving traffic at traffic lights. iii - the fact that any water on the roof of the car ends up inside the cabin when you turn a corner while having a window open. One would have thought Nissan should have identified this as a mistake. That's about it really, I like everything else about the car.
  12. Where and how are forum users getting/creating these from?
  13. ^^ That's because those posts are from 2005. The picture have most likely been removed since.
  14. 1. Your uncle's car is a sexy, SEXY car. 2. His garden looks really nice too - and I don't normally care about gardens lol. 3. I'm over 25. How about you get your uncle to insure me and I'll take you and I'll drive you and your cousin around for an entire day.
  15. You've got a point there, but then again the 32/33/34 V-Spec's weren't TWICE the price of the standard GTR's. From memory they were a few thousand dollars more. The level of specification isn't the main point contention IMO, it's the price you have to pay over and above the standard car for what seems to be relatively few enhancements.
  16. You'd better believe I'd do the same
  17. 1. Past price movements of older GTR models can't be used as a guide because apart from the 100 R32's that were brought in by Nissan, they were never officially sold here. 2. Any item is only worth what a buyer is willing to pay. It's pointless to sit here and try and forecast what an R35 will be selling at in 5 years time because we don't know what the demand will be once cars are sold on the second hand market. 3. Just because a car (or any other asset) is advertised for a certain price or valued by a valuer at a certain price that doesn't mean the car will sell at said price. i.e. it's all good to be quoting asking prices we've seen on Carsales or SAU, but we don't know what the final purchase prices were. They were likely lower than the advertised price. IMO prices of R32 - R34 skylines of all kinds really started to take a dive once the second hand market was flooded with grey imports. This was a blessing and a curse. It meant regular people like myself could afford to purchase one. It also meant that owners who purchased their cars when they were still quite expensive took a huge depreciation hit. I think the two biggest factors that will determine how well R35 GTR's hold their value will be: i - the demand for the cars on the second hand market ii - the number of grey imports available on the second hand market.
  18. It is TWICE the price of the regular GTR. Hence why there are a few people here (including me) saying it isn't worth it.
  19. Perhaps I'm being too cynical but the fact that the 2 rotties didn't appear to do anything suggests that the thief(s) may know your boyfriend or his family well enough so that the dogs didn't consider them an intruder. Just throwing that out there. And yes, I know what it's like to have a car broken into. At least you didn't have to drive your car home while sitting on the driver's side floor mat to avoid sitting on shattered glass
  20. 1. The average GTR buyer doesn't have $150,000 to spend on license plates. 2. 3 as a Z is NOT more appealing than a Z as a Z. 3. GTR-boy can get a gazillion dollars for his license plates not 11ty million. 11ty isn't even a number
  21. I think these ads work more for people who have been in accidents as a result of being stupid and later realising that they could have killed someone or themselves. I'm one of those people, and this collection of ads definitely hits home with me.
  22. Get a lawyer and hope for the best. Simple as that. At 38 Km/H over the speed limit you're going to have to be one lucky SOB to get anything less than having the book thrown at you. I'll repeat: GET A LAWYER AND HOPE FOR THE BEST.
  23. were you insured?
