  1. Thats 100MPH mate, making it 0-160kph in under 10 seconds.
  2. 0-100mph from the FACTORY.
  3. Usually anything that can do 0-100mph in under 10 seconds is spoken about as a supercar. GTR has super car times, so its logical that its a supercar, right?
  4. Just to get the thread back on topic, does anyone now if in fact the LFA is the supra replacement? Or is it an entirely different car to the supra?
  5. Just like the R33 GTR video? The video was real, the car was far from factory specification (at the very least it is reported to have had a well conceiled rollcage, slicks AND increased boost). So yes, you're right that there IS a video of a R35 doing a 7:29 lap of the 'ring, but there is no proof that the car was a stock factory spec car and not some tweaked test mule.
  6. Wouldn't that make them 'peg-chips' :-p
  7. First car was an XF Fairmont Ghia. Its a right of passage to own a XF or a VL when you're Lebanese, Lol. Obviously it doesn't compare to the GTR... apart from being the same colour and drinking lots of petrol.
  8. I'm personally still questioning the 7:29 claim of the ordinary GTR. Nissan have a history of lying about the specification of the cars that set the nurburgring records, just look at the R33 GTR that was the first car to break the 8 minute barrier. Yet no one could match that time when the cars were released to the public. And the latest car and driver magazine recorded a 12.6 1/4 @ 111 MPH for the R35 GTR, well down on the first few cards tested. Having said that, I'm really looking forward to the stripped out V-Spec as well as the LFA.
  9. Bump. Price is negotiable as I don't really need a car anymore.
  10. The corvette's handling has been raved about by numerous reviews including top gear and 5th gear. Anyone who thinks that the corvette (let alone the Z06) is a straight line only one trick pony has got to be kidding themselves, this is actually a sports car unlike the australian family barges. I'd personally take a Z06 or a ZR1 over any GTR any day. Cornering ability, outright power and a manual gearbox (which I'd prefer to any auto).
  11. you have to love the big merc coupes. classy, elegant and tough all in the one package. I just wish someone can fix the front end design on the new ones though, i much prefer the first series' front end. and +1 for maybe being a brabus.
  12. NAvy Blue 996 GT3 today on waterdale road in West Heidelberg. I think the license plates were something like JGT3.
  13. I remember reading in a Unique Cars magazine that he also owned a GT2 at one point; he said the Z tune was faster over a longer distance in a straight line if I remember correctly.
  14. Hey, ease off the banker wanker jokes; some of us want to be banker wankers in the future and we'd like a little respect; lol. p.s. i won't be driving an m3 if and when i'm a banker wanker; you'll hopefully see me driving an ariel atom 300 (if you don't blink and miss it of course, he he)
  15. Black murcielago; plates SSS-88 or something like that near lygon st. Awesome cars.
  16. There's no doubt that the W427 will be quite an exciting road car, but it seems that the only extra it has over a GTS is the LS7 motor (forgetting the different grille and wheels; they're just cosmetics). I just don't see how adding the LS7 can allow HSV to charge $50K-$70K more than a GTS. From what I can see, buyers will be paying atleast $50K more than a GTS for what seems to be a different engine. I could understand the price difference if they also included carbon ceramic discs and maybe some carbon fibre body panels to reduce weight; but a $50K just for the LS7 option?! That has got to be ridiculous; and the W427 would want to be a hell of a lot better than a GTS or an R8. My only argument is that such a car is worth $120K-$130K at the very most if the only thing differentiating it from the other HSV models is the LS7, grille and wheels.
  17. Just found this on carsguide.com.au http://carsguide.news.com.au/site/motoring..._hsvs_hot_w427/ IMO that price can't be justified from a performance standpoint. They are potentially pricing themselves against the R35 GTR and M3, RS4, C63 etc etc. What do you guys think?
  18. I don't know how anyone can say they'll take a GTR (of any sort) over a lambo while keeping a straight face. There is no comparison; the reality is that jealousy gets the better of many of us and we end up saying we'd take the car we could afford sooner rather than later (GTR) over the car we know we probably won't ever be able to afford (the lambo). Lets be realistic, the lambo owner (or any exotic car owner) can purchase any GTR they want; several times over. But the vast majority of us can't afford to buy the lambo; so until we can afford to buy the lambo we won't be able to make an unbiased choice as to which car we'd rather own.
  19. I don't think the iraq war is for oil. The war has cost the US something like $1 trillion to date; and Iraq coiuldn't possibly have $1 trillion in oil reserves (i doubt that much oil exists anywhere). So it wouldn't make sense that the oil was the primary reason for the war. just my 2 cents. EDIT: Just did a little snooping on Google and apparently it is estimated that Iraq has 112 Billion barrells of oil. at current market prices that actually puts the value of the oil reserves at more than $1 trillion. Interesting stuff...
  20. mx5.
  21. If it is the same car, the driver was lucky not to be injured (at least by the accident, his dad may have beaten him up afterwards). it looks like a lot of damage.
  22. I think the 360CS is currently sitting at a panel shop in the northern suburbs (I don't know if I should name the panel shop, you never know who reads these threads and what they'd do). I see a red 360 with HEAVY front end damage and what appears to be white racing stripes down the middle every morning when I go to uni. Not 100% sure if its the same car, but it can't be a coincidence can it?
  23. Yeah but does the R33 have number collecting? Didn't think so.
  24. Check for weld spots in the engine bay and get the chassis checked out thoroughly. You really want to make sure that if it has been in an accident that the repairs were done correctly (and lets face it; a much higher proportion of these cars have been in accidents than we actually realise).
