  1. not if an american is driving it... apparently their medium meals at McDonalds are the size of our Large.
  2. The show was called "The Greatest Ever - Top 10 Sports cars". Anyone else notice they showed a R33 GTS-T and kept referring to AWD and the R34 LCD display? Very confusing and annoying. Mclaren should have been no.1 in my books.
  3. You should buy 2 cars. a rebuilt r32 GT-R for the track (should cost in the mid 30's for clean car with lots of power) and a near new Golf GTi (high 30s to 40K) for a daily driver. Then you'll have the best of both worlds.
  4. Yes and no. Yes because a car like that will probably be worth a small fortune in 10 years time (assuming its kept in mint condition). No because if i was a cashed up GTR enthusiast who wanted a prime example of an R32 Godzilla, that car would be the perfect buying opportunity. The GTHO didn't cop this much notorious criticism and negative media driven backlashings? If i remember correctly the GTHO Phase III caused such a public outcry that ford decided to end development of the Phase IV and all subsequent Phase GTs. If anything the Phase 3's notoriety is what makes it the collector's special it is today. The following quote is from drive.com.au: "The original 1969 GT HO was powered by a 5.8-litre V8 and was claimed to reach 100kmh in just 6.4 seconds, making it the most potent Australian-made muscle car of its time. However, by 1972, controversy about road-going race cars killed the GT HO Phase IV program before it hit dealerships." http://www.drive.com.au/Editorial/ArticleD...D=9662&vf=1 Trust me, in the long run original well maintained GTRs of any example will be worth more than we expect.
  5. i think GTR's will increase in price in the long run as long as they are kept relatively stock. just like any other 'classic' in the making. for example i'm sure there was a period in the GTHO's life when they were fairly cheap, and now its not uncommon to see original restored examples selling for over $100,000 makes you wonder if people think about the long term when they modify their cars. just remember that most modifications will reduce the value of the car once it is old enough to be considered a classic.
  6. i'd prefer an M3 over that or the future RS5 (if its ever released). I think audi still has some way to go in challenging AMG and M-Hause, but they are certainly starting to make some progress. for example the RS4 was an incredible car, probably the best effort audi has made in challenging AMG and M.
  7. just like any enthusiast car,a GTR appeals to a limited number of the car buying public. sometimes you'll get a buyer who is looking for EXACTLY the car you are selling and will buy it as soon as you advertise it, sometimes it takes a long time to find that particular buyer. its the same principal for any niche product.
  8. i've had nothing but good experiences with ebay, both as a buyer and a seller. i make sure to do my research if i'm buying something, and i only buy from people with overwhelming positive feedback.
  9. lambo doesn't have a 5.0L V12, they have a 5.0L V10 which they use in the gallardo.
  10. sort of like an ariel atom... for crazy gtr owners who can't get enough speed and power. sign me up if someone here ends up buying it... but i think it might get defected for a low ride height :-P
  11. talking from experience, if you can't afford/aren't willing to insure a car with comprehensive, then don't have one. especially if its an import that will cost a lot of money to repair.
  12. just tell them to shut up. works every time.
  13. I am looking for a R33 GTR intercooler, piping, etc. urgently. also, R33 GTR radiator.
  14. and remember that they are old cars now. you're looking at a 10 year old car at least.
  15. the black one, but only because of the N1 upgrades.
  16. stock GT-Rs only record low 13 second quarters with a massive clutch frying launch. Otherwise, these aussie tanks would keep up in a straight line (and maybe overtake eventually) a stock GT-R. But the handling, thats a different story. Take a GT-R through some mountain roads and you'll understand.
  17. p.s. big thanks to Jack from Citywide towing (who owns the R33 'Z-tune') who was a big help in towing this thing to the panelbeaters.
  18. Car is no longer for sale
  19. mate, thats real driving skill. i saw a documentary about those events on discovery channel once, looks like some serious fun.
