Damn it, 3 cars isn't enough! here's a start: Daily cruiser... S-Class (including all the variants - AMG, Brabus, etc). i love luxury and space, and this is the ultimate gangster ride. Next; 1959 Caddy. For driving once a month with the supermodel wife, and getting more attention than any of todays supercars. extensively modified 9-second z-tune. I love exotics, but if i can only choose 3 cars then one of them has to do an easy 9 second pass. and this is it. Besides, i'd have my P1 membership to give me access to the italian and german exotics

you p-platers need to understand that in victoria (where this guy is) its not legal for a p-plater to drive a GTR. So he's breaking the law by driving the thing in the first place.
-
i agree. in particular, a GTR is not a car you can get in and know how to drive straight away. the back end steps out suddenly, the power comes on extremely fast and in a non-lonear way. its a real handful of a car to drive at first, luckily i have done some basic defensive driving with AAMI (which is by no means an advanced driver's course) and that helped me avoid a few sticky situations when i first got my GTR. Definately not a good first car to let a p-plater drive.

18yo shouldn't be allowed to drive GT-R's (or supras, rx7's, soarers etc). The flood of imports over the last few years has opened a pandora's box with p-platers, because they now have acces to cheap and VERY fast hi-performance cars that they shouldn't be allowed to drive when they are so inexperienced on the public roads. that guys car should be confiscated permanently. It makes you wonder how in touch with reality the insurance companies are when they will insure a p-plater with a rocket like a GT-R (or atleast just car insurance), which in stock form would hose any of our so-called aussie performace cars. where's the bloody consistency here? that kid shoudn't have been driving such a powerful vehicle to begin with.

my car is a daily driver, travel around 400km's a week in it. i've taken it on one long drive (about 200Ks each way) to a retreat recently. most fun i've ever had in a car, GT-Rs are just unbelievable driver's cars. the handling, the speed, the whole experience was just incredible. sure it wasn't comfortable, but then if i wanted comfort i would have bought a fairlane/statesman instead.

Twin Turbo Straight Six Cylinder Engine

+1. Also, lets not forget that the BMW engine is only running 0.4bar of boost, i think around 6psi. thats just amazing. -

Ummm, a brand new GT-R would have been pushing $120k+, so i don't see how price can come into this. the fact is that the RB26 was never REALLY improved and developed since 1989. i love GT-Rs as much as the next guy, but you can't deny that you wouldn't want that BMW engine in a car that you own. imagine the tuning potential. -
i believe that one of the biggest factors in the general degeneration of society today is the break down of family and social values. it can't be coincidence that as the rate of suicide, drugs, abortion, violence etc goes up so does the rate of divorce and the break-down of the family structure. my 2 cents.
-
LOL, i see your point. well its a moot point anyway since i wont be able to afford it any time soon.
-
no, i actually like the 8000rpm redline of the RB26 (let alone the 9000rpm redline of some rebuilt rb's). the sound, my god the rb sounds amazing at high revs. although i could see increased reliability with an engine that develops its peak power at a lower rpm.
-
bloody hell this thingis gonna hammer. and its going to have a tremendous amount of torque. although, maybe a 4-litre engine is too much, how will that conflict with the high revving nature of past skylines? am i the only one who is sad that the RB series of engines is no longer being used?
-
DAMN!!! thats a huge difference... i'd be disgruntled too if that was my car!!! now it should be doing easy low to flat 11's.
-
he was disgruntled with it? do you know what he didn't like? i've had this theory that z-tunes aren't as fast as internet forums would have us believe... maybe thats what the owner didn't like.
-
you can definately find a good condition R33 for around 30K, but it will take a while to appear on the market. ideally you want a buyer who has to sell because they are having a baby, or because they just got married and they need a house deposit. then take the car to a mechanic to get it checked out. these GT-Rs do exist, as DR-ENVY and myself both found our cars in this way.
-
and then receive the speeding tickets that were issued by the million or so speed cameras that operate in victoria.
-
i saw a red f430 in the metal in doncaster, and damn was it an absolute work of art. BTW, i understand people disagreeing with the rims, but i don't understand bagging high priced euro exotics and their owners. whats up with that?
